Dafne is a rock star

We had the best experience and Dafne and her team took extremely good care of us every morning. They greeted us with our coffee and Mimosas with a smile and such generous hospitality. We will be back.

It's a fantastic place. I only read bad reviews but read mine anyway.

Scott S on Mar 07, 2026

I only read bad reviews when I travel (4% for this property), and I'd like to address the concerns. We had a great time. 1) The staff was absolutely attentive and friendly. 2) There were plenty of pool side/beach chairs (we were there in early March, before spring break, after the holidays, keep that in mind). 3) The facility is beautiful, new, and well maintained. Are there some missing pool tiles? Sure. There are probably a million tiles in that pool, and it simply does not diminish the experience. 4) We've stayed at much more expensive all-inclusive properties in Cancun and have liked the Hilton as much as those. It is great for families, couples, extended families, and older visitors. We didn't see a lot of teenagers. The food was good, sometimes very good. The wine was terrible unless you upgrade. One thing we regret, we didn't bring enough small bills for tipping. The service was fantastic, and it's nice to appreciate that. Ultimately, we felt it to be a good value as well.

Worth a visit (plus, a few notes re: safety)

Marcus R on Mar 07, 2026

We have traveled to a number of all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Dominican. First time at a Hilton all-inclusive - we would return and/or visit more Hilton properties. We traveled as a family of three. Two adults and an almost 7-year-old. Service: Consistently pleasant and very personable across the entire resort. While we tipped, quality service did not appear to be dependent on tipping. From our obersvation, the staff at this resort are good people who genuinely want you to enjoy your vacation. We've been to other resorts where that was not the vibe. Beach: This is not a beach to sit on (because it does not have enough depth), but the stretch of beach that the resort is located on is beautiful and walkable. Beach was definitely swimmable the entire time we were there. There was some sargassum, but it was cleaned up daily (and meticulously) and the property has a sargassum barrier to keep the swimming area generally clean. Rooms: Beautiful. We booked through Expedia and payed a very nominal upgrade fee ($33/traveler) for a high-floor king ocean view. Housekeeping was reliable and we always returned to a spotless room after a day of enjoying the resort. The in-room bathrooms of the ocean view rooms are largely constructed of privacy glass. While the bathrooms offer beautiful views of the ocean, they could create some awkward moments if traveling with friends or older kids. Also, your resort bracelet doubles as your room key. Pools: Warm and located with incredible ocean views. (Note safety comments later in review.) Kids pool was nice enough, but not overly exciting for our almost 7-year-old. We did not witness any towel games during our stay, this may or may not have been related to lower occupancy levels, but we had no issues finding a spot each day. As a bonus, we did not even need to get towels, because hotel staff had already placed them on every available chair for all guests to enjoy. Kids club: Well-staffed and a variety of activities. Our almost 7-year-old was more interested in the pool than the kids club, but we did find value in the kids club family-time that was offered throughout the day (we typically spent 30-45 minutes each day playing ping pong, fooseball, playing on the fairly large playground, etc). Food: High quality and decent variety for an affordable all-inclusive resort. The coffee shop and lunch and breakfast buffets served pretty much the same food day after day. The only restaurant we did not dine at was the Mexican restaurant. The steakhouse and Italian were our favorites, and the menus offered enough selection to enjoy dining at each one more than once. The guest experience would benefit from an a la carte breakfast restaurant. Drinks: Accessible, consistent, and well-made. Everything is relative, but our expectations were met or exceeded in this category. Poolside wait staff was consistently excellent. A drink menu could be a fun addition. Activities and Entertainment: Daytime activities were tastefully done - present and inviting, but not obnoxious. We participated in Bingo, Spanish lessons, and water aerobics. We observed archery, beach volleyball, pool volleyball, and a pool basketball competition. Evening entertainment is pretty comparable to most all-inclusives we've traveled to. In other words, evening entertainment is average. We also used the gym and found it to be well-equipped and very clean. Cleanliness: Consistently very clean across the entire resort. Especially of note, the resort's public restrooms were extremely clean. Regularly observed people cleaning windows, grounds, even the dimensional wall-mounted letters of restaurant names. Security and safety: From a security perspective, we always felt very safe during our entire stay. That said, the resort's single biggest opportunity is future-focused maintenance and functional design with an eye towards guests' safety. We did not personally experience any safety setbacks, but we observed other guests who did. The tiles in the pool are a real problem (people cutting their feet and needing to be bandaged by the on-duty lifeguard). The tiles in the south pool (the quiet pool) are considerably worse than the north pool, but they're both declining quickly for a 4.5-year-old resort. The amphitheater is beautiful, but the steps are hard to see and they're installed at awkward angles. We were present when an older couple fell and hit their heads after one of the shows. The pools and whirlpools have extremely wobbly handrails - best not to rely on them until they're repaired. There is carpet in many interior hallways, which significantly reduces noise outside of guest rooms (which we loved!), but the carpet is in pretty rough shape and serves as a tripping hazard in a number of spots. Kids and Conferences: While there were kids at the resort, they did not detract from our experience. The children we observed were very well-behaved. Additionally, there was a large conference that started on Tuesday and ended on Thursday. With the exception of one morning at the breakfast buffet (where it took us about 10 minutes to get seated), our experience was not impacted by conference attendees. Overall: If the price is right, we would definitely consider returning as a family. We would also consider traveling here (or to another Hilton all-inclusive) as a couple because our overall experience was on par with or better than some premium priced adults-only resorts we've stayed at. Enjoy your travels!
