My family and I stopped here as part of our cruise trip - the resort had a very beautiful and relaxing environment, and a hell of a view! Just steps away from the busy street and nearby market, it immediately felt like a quiet getaway with as soon as you stepped into the lobby. We did the all inclusive and got right to activities, especially the snorkeling/pier diving. It didn't last long for me, however, because I unfortunately stepped on a sea urchin while I was trying to get ahold of my footing on the rocks by the pier. As soon as it happened the staff wasted no time in helping me get back to our ship, going so far as to wheelchair me all the way to the port, where the ship's team took care of me from there. As soon as I was (somewhat) recovered from my injury, I made my way back, and the staff welcomed me with great concern for my wellbeing, following up and making sure I was alright. They even gave us extra servings of nachos when I returned! And even better, they also took it a step further by sending out divers to get rid of the urchins while I was gone, to make sure that nobody would risk suffering an injury like mine. To Ari, Leo, and the other staff at El Cid La Ceiba, thank you very much for the help and accommodation you provided to us during our short visit. We hope to be back in the future!

I spent seven nights here with a scuba diving group. We dove at the dive center onsite. The hotel accommodations were quite nice (although I understand that they will be remodeling to bring it up to El Cid standards). The food in the restaurant for our all inclusive deal was superior, with different cuisine and entertainment for dinner each night. I used the spa to get a 50-minute massage from Diana and it was excellent. The cons were that the all inclusive drinks were disappointing. They only had one brand of beer available (XX) and it became boring. My friends said that the mixed drinks such as Sangria and Mojitos contained very little alcohol so they even went off-site to get good Mojitos. Lunch was not a buffet and sometimes the service was slow; after a morning of scuba diving we were very hungry so to wait so long for meals was a problem.

The staff are just all around awesome. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. I love the location. It’s about 15$ USD for a taxi to the city centre. Ari and Antonio will make sure you get a cab in a Mayan minute! it’s about an hours walk if that is more your style. There is only one restaurant on site. But it is a close walk to several restaurants near the cruise dock. Or lots of fantastic choices in town! We really enjoyed our time here!

Love the resort, the location is great ...but mostly the staff are the best. Will return when it reopens and hopefully will see the staff return? Good work everyone

This is NOT all inclusive. We were asked to pay some hotel fee without which they would not check us in. The place has no beach, it is only good for snorkelling. The sea floor is all covered with slimy rocks. It gets deep almost right away. There is only one food place/buffet included in all inclusive. The other restaurant is extra. There is only one pool that is not big. The place is full of cruise people who come each day to spend their time there. It is right next to a port. Also, it is not a resort, it is just an over advertised hotel. Such a disappointment. Overpriced for nothing.
