The staff make this hotel. They are warm and as helpful as can be. All rooms are comfortable and have all you need. The pool deck has been updated within the past two years and is very nice… but most of all, it is the people who make the place.
Great Vacation ??

Have stayed with the Pacific Monarch before. The people at the desk, Cherly, Danny, Keiko and Christineanne, are the BEST ever. Very friendly and helpful. Couldn't get into the room we wanted because it was rented... the next day it opened up and Danny moved our things in while we were off having fun! They made sure we had a beach chair and an umbrella! Rooms are different because they are owned by different people. All have been nice rooms. The higher the better!!! The staff made our vacation GREAT! Thank you??
Great location in Waikiki

Many enjoyable/helpful aspects of staying at the Pacific Monarch. Excellent pool and hot tub. Comfortable sleeping at night. Excellent views from the partial view studio (water, mountain and city lights - a little bit of everything). Close to bus transit, the beach and easy food shopping.

There is a ton of noise outside the hotel, so a higher floor is a must. The hotel is a little dated, and the bathrooms were tiny. The location is right in the middle of the action. The rooftop pool and hot tub were great. The kitchenette allowed us to save a few bucks on food and drinks too.
Ideally Located in the Heart of Waikiki

I am a repeat visitor to the Pacific Monarch, going every year in January and returning February to my home. It is really ideal for my purposes: access to the beach, convenient to the public transit system, and with an abundance of dining options nearby. From walking out the door of my condominium to being all set up in my chair on the beach is always under 10 minutes, total time. I timed the actual walk from the lobby to the beach as under 2 minutes. Perfect! Going back to the room for lunch is easy. You can watch sunset on the beach, be back in your room showered and shaved and in a local restaurant in half an hour to an hour, max. Roof top pool and hot tub are a treat, too.
Two important caveats:
1. This is not a fancy hotel. It is a condominium building with each unit having a kitchen/kitchenette for meals inside. The main advantages are the practical aspects to it; if you are looking for a luxury hotel experience, this is not the place for you. If pragmatism and convenience/access are the most important considerations for you, this property is perfect,
2. This caveat is critical. It is important to understand for anyone from out of the area/first timers here that Honolulu is a city, with all the issues that go along with that. Waikiki is vibrant, busy, has lots of traffic, tons of pedestrians and people on scooters, carrying surfboards, etc., and there is noise. If you are looking for a quiet, remote and tranquil hangout on the beach, do not come to Waikiki, this is not the kind of place this is. If you like cities in general, and even more, cities with a beach, this is ideal!
