Subpar Stay

21grainswitme (Orange, California) on Sep 11, 2023

Room still had dust on all table counters. Daily maid service was slow- they would come at 4:55pm when we were already gone majority of the day . stay still felt dirty even with daily cleaning service. They also gave me an unrenovated room which did not reflect what I booked online and did not accommodate for it

Friendly, convenient, parking-included hotel across from the beach in Waikiki

nysingle (New York City, New York) on Sep 01, 2023

The Aston Waikiki Beach Tower is a very nice hotel for families. The units are 2-BR 2-Ba, nice for a family. There is a washer-dryer, dishwasher, a large fridge, and a full kitchen. AC worked very well as did WiFi (important for kids nowadays). The units all have balconies. It's important to pay the extra to get a high floor. I think the lower floors have obstructed views. In August, we had great sunset views from our balcony. Our unit had both beach and mountain views. The location was excellent. It's literally across the street for the beach (the hotel provides beach towels). The beach area is protected by a seawall and it's relatively shallow, good for the novice swimmers. The wall is home to quite a bit of fish so it's a decent snorkel spot. We saw puffers, an eel, and several schools of fish at low tide. There is a shower near one entrance to rinse off. It's a plus and a minus - the hotel is on the main Waikiki strip of restaurants and shops. There will be crowds, but there are many good dining options including many good food malls (e.g. Stix Asia). We liked Momosan across the street, Udon Yama, and Ginza Bairin to name a few. There is a McD and a Kai coffee downstairs where many guests get their breakfasts. The hotel is only 7-8 miles to the airport and has good access to eastern Oahu and the highways to the north. I highly recommend a car for Oahu. The hotel provides valet for one car. They're pretty quick and very friendly. The front desk staff were great. Housekeeping was good but they come late at times (after 4 pm). Security is good. You need a card for the elevator and there's always someone at the entrance. There's a safe in each room. The hotel isn't perfect. For one, it's not really a resort though it charges a resort fee. They have activities but they're all in the middle of the day. The hotel is expensive, but considering that it's basically two hotel rooms, the prices are a good value considering the service and the location. The hotel pool is quite small. The shallow beach across the street is basically a huge pool. It's not a "quiet" area, but it's super-convenient. All in all, my family would choose this hotel again.

Great Family Stay

The Aston is a great place to stay as a family with a great location by Waikiki Beach. The staff is warm and welcoming and the access provides a safe quiet escape from the busy main street. Overall, a great stay enjoyed by all.

Great stay in Waikiki

442jiec (Marrakech, Morocco) on Aug 30, 2023

The building is old, but it’s kept very clean, and renovated throughout. The view is great and location is convenient, and the staff were very helpful and warm. We had a pleasant stay, and would recommend to people who’d like to stay in Waikiki.
