Awesome staff

Candy H on Apr 18, 2026

Our serves: Roger, Pablo, Ignacio, Emanuel, and Odette were excellent servers. Our bartenders at the swim up bar and the sun club lounge were great. We also appreciated the housekeeping and the cleanliness of the rooms. All your staff have been very friendly and helpful.

Ixtapa

dogster D on Apr 17, 2026

The place is clean and nice. But the building seems old but atleast the elevators were working. The only thing that was open was the buffet and La Mario. The other restaurant was close. I dont recommend you swimming in the beach because the tide is strong not unless you are a really good swimmer. When you are in Ixtapa make sure to do the turtle release and also the dolphin swim.

great family resort

erika031089 on Apr 13, 2026

We stayed at the Sunscape Pacifico last week. It's a great family resort, our kids are 3 and 5 and they loved the cute little water park (it was perfect for their ages). The resort is small so it's perfect with young kids to get around easily. The staff was great and friendly and the hotel/resort/rooms were clean. The fridge was always refilled with water and beverages, and if we were running out of water, I was calling the front desk and in within 5 minutes, we had what we nedded delivered to the room. Some things obviously would need love, like the bridge over the pool, some palapa roof (Bluewater restaurant) would need to be fixt. The food isn't the best to be honest, and the snack comptor in the lobby would need more variety (always the same muffins, cookies, jello). The resort is really well located, we walked to the flea market at night, it took us 10 minutes. We walked to delfinity (10 min walk off the beach and swam with dolphins), we did parasailing off the beach right in front of the hotel. My kids loved the kids bar where they could order whatever they wanted by themselves. Overall we loved that place! We also really enjoyed the dinner/shows evenings in the garden. And the view from our room was just amazing! I would go back and I highly recommend this resort!

HOT HOT HOT

CT20 (Saskatoon, Canada) on Apr 13, 2026

Weather was HOT, HOT, NOT. Just got back from the Sunscape. The staff make the resort. The ladies at the buffet remember your room numbers within a couple days, Bartenders know drinks, pool side servers are attentive and super quick and the entertainment staff is lively and enthusiastic. The hotel does show its age, but they keep it clean. It is small resort that was not very full on the weekend. During the week it got busier, but nothing where you couldn't find chairs or a had long waits for anything. Evening shows were OK. Again, they work hard. They set up the courtyard for shows, special buffet events almost daily. That is hard work in the heat. Emailed the resort with a request to be close to our friends and we were in adjacent rooms....thank you! Room 1005. Overlooks the roof outside on the evening show side, but close with elevators and quiet hallways. I found the pillows hard, my g/f liked them. Like many things it will come down to personal preference. Beach was beautiful to walk. Security/lifeguards did a great job keeping kids away from the swim-up bar. If you are looking for a chill, relaxing vacation you will like this resort.

Pretty good resort!

Melanie A (Richmond, Canada) on Apr 12, 2026

The good: No wristbands. No towel cards. No reservations for the restaurants. Either no wait or a minimal wait. A 24 hour coffee bar with decaf coffee. A food truck. Lots of seats around the pool. The loungers on the beach were all cabanas. The food was regional which was great to try out the local foods, but had lots of other choices. Their mole sauce was the best I have ever had. The restaurant food was great. The servers at the pool were quick and came back many times to see if you needed a drink. The swim up pool bar was large with an added section to sit in the pool to enjoy your drink. Four elevators so you don't have to wait long. The housekeeping staff cleaned your room every day in a timely manner. The dinner was set up outside on the lawn a few times and then you could watch the show from your table. A water park for kids. Rarely more than one person lining up for a drink. Pool temperature was perfect. Drink menu displayed on all bars so you could easily choose a variety of beverages. Large outdoor seating for breakfast and lunch, you can always get inside or outside. Every staff member were friendly, helpful and professional. Across the street from stores. The not so good: The entertainment was repetitive. Mostly dancing, but it was good dancing. One night was karaoke, and one night a children's movie. The room was large enough and clean with comfortable beds, but we had to get the staff to fix the AC once, the toilet once, and repair the light switch in the bathroom. As well the lock on the slider door didn't work, not a problem five stories up, but the handle was missing and it was hard to open and shut the door from the outside. Twice our key cards stopped working despite them not being anywhere near a cell phone. You only get beer in your fridge the first day and have to ask for more each day. We like to have a beer on the balcony and watch the ocean. They say there is a Mexican restaurant but it is the Blue Water Grill restaurant with different tablecloths on some days. So you have to know which days is which restaurant. All in all, a really good resort, and if they fixed up the room issues it would be even better. I wouldn't let the room issues stop you from going though. Other rooms might not have any issues.
