Perfect Place for Us!

Vacationer818500 on Feb 01, 2023

Thank you Maui Hills for being a super vacation destination! We booked a 2 bedroom condo for 4 of us for a week. The size of the unit was very surprising to me right away and the condos are spread out on a huge property. Being up on the hill away from the busy beachside was quiet and relaxing...and just a short walk down to the beaches and the strip. I liked being close enough to walk to town, rather than in the super expensive Wailea (which we could also walk to along the shoreline). I also liked being able to drive up to the condo and park out back, just uncomplicated. The view is also stunning being up high. We took photos from the hill and the deck every sunset. The deck was spacious as well; we ate all of our meals on it. Beautiful birds grace the grounds and sing every morning. I was filling out my bird list. We went to the hot tub and pool at night and met some really friendly and gracious people. (There are lots of "regulars" and return visitors since this is a timeshare place and they shared their expertise with us about what to do and where to go.) The mai tai party (once a week) was fun and generous - the live music a thrill with a talented musician. And this is quite nice: Talumani, who works there, contacted me after we left and were at home to tell me I left id cards and gift cards in the suite. Talumani then couriered them to me for no charge on their own time after work. Hawaiian warmth for sure! Overall we had a fantastic time at this place. It was really super relaxing and not stuffy at all. The facilities are 80s ish, but with such space and comfort, we really felt at home. Would return to the Hills for sure again if we ever go back to Maui. Thanks again Talumani, from Mona

January 2023 stay

leslie154946 (Vernon, Canada) on Jan 29, 2023

We stayed ( me and my husband and our daughter and her husband) in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom garden view unit at Maui Hill for a week in January. The location is close to the beach, a walk down the driveway and across Kihei road to a good swimming beach. We also spent several afternoons at Elua beach which was a close drive with good parking. Nights we went to Shops of Wailea. Maui Hill is on the edge of Kihei so close to Wailea and quieter than other areas in Kihei. The grounds are lush and well maintained. There is a list of guidelines which provides a quiet, safe place to stay. Nice pool area. Maid service which was appreciated. Lots of parking. Friendly, helpful staff. We were thankful for the beach chairs which we used every day. Large lanai for coffee mornings. The unit itself could have used updating, stove was a 4 burner, some cupboards were broken, the washer and dryer were very noisy. Our biggest complaint was the a/c wall units which were very noisy, to the point where we would be woken through the night. I'd suggest that these could be upgraded. I am unsure if I would stay again due to the a/c which is unfortunate as the rest of the property was good and I would have given it 4 stars if not for the a/c.

South Maui Stay

Overall a great location. The "Ocean View" was not spectacular, and not worth the extra charge, but the room was large, comfortable, and clean. Staff was very friendly and solved a couple problems very quickly.

Wished things could have been better

Poor staff communication. Rude. Internet and tv services down and working intermittently. Our family rooms were separated on opposite sides of the resort. So you can throw out proper family time. Nobody was able to accommodate us.

2 night stay, 1/8-10/2023

Pleasant stay. Room access was very convenient. No complaints on the property. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of the amenities you offer such as the pool or grilling area. Kihei is pretty crowded with visitors and it was almost impossible to find somewhere to eat and takeout was nearly impossible from the well known restaurants, but that has nothing to do with your property, just the location.
