I would come here again

NatureLover059 (Fremont, California) on Feb 28, 2026

We really enjoyed our stay here. I loved hearing the birds chirp in the morning and the grounds were beautifully landscaped and well maintained. I would rate the bed a 4 out of 5 as we like our bed on the firmer side. Pros We were welcomed with a giant fruit basket on our dining table. There was an amazingly spacious living room and outdoor balcony The couches and two chairs were comfortable The chairs in the living room recline The kitchen had adequate dishes, flatware A beach umbrella, chairs & towels are provided Cons We did not see any curtains or blinds for a wall of 4 double glass doors. The staff said we should have something. We later discovered the blinds were mounted outside of the room. The light switch in the bedroom does not turn on a light The alarm clock went off at 6am every day and we could not figure out how to turn it off permanently. To be fair, we did not ask the staff to help us. There is no desk, but the dining table could substitute.

A Maui Gem!

Joanne O on Feb 22, 2026

Definitely a 5 star experience! The location was perfect for us (we had no car), close to the beautiful Keawakapu Beach (a 10 minute walk), and to convenient bus stops. The peaceful atmosphere allowed us to enjoy the lovely landscaped grounds and sounds of native birds. The two bedroom and two bathroom unit was huge, tastefully and very comfortably furnished, both inside and on the lanai. It was spotless! The pool area was huge, with plenty of loungers, and provided both sunny and shady areas. Daily housekeeping was offered, and any request was promptly and warmly met. Overall, excellent value!

An Excellent Vacation in Paradise

Leslie B on Feb 19, 2026

Aston Maui Hill has a great location ~ close to the beach, restaurants and shops. The rooms are large so that you don’t feel crowded. The pool area is beautiful with tables and chairs in the shade or sun. Each evening we enjoyed a beautiful sunset. We have been staying at Maui Hill for the past ten years and look forward to our yearly vacations.

Old unit and noisy AC

Leslie D (Vernon, Canada) on Jan 22, 2026

We stayed 2 weeks in room 76 in Maui Hill. The location of Maui Hill is excellent, at the edge of Kihei, walking distance to beaches, short drive to the beautiful beaches of Wailea and Makena all of which have good access, washrooms, showers and parking. Maui Hill is also close to shops and restaurants in Walea which we enjoyed each evening. The pool area is well maintained and clean. The grounds are lush and well maintained. The unit is old and requires updating and cleaning. Carpets are stained and worn, furniture, doors, decking are all worn, stained and need replacing. The deck needed cleaning. I cleaned the placemats which had food on them. The kitchen is only adequately stocked and I asked for scissors, a kettle and a small cooking pot which were then provided. The stove is a four burner ring stove. The bed is comfortable. The daily maid service provides fresh towels, garbage cleanout and bed making. No other cleaning is done. Under the sink one day was a large cockroach. I was able to dispose of it and reported the pest. Pest control came 2 days later to spray the unit. The worst part for us was the AC. We had stayed at Maui Hill 3 years ago and in my review had stated that the AC was so loud that it was impossible to have it on while sleeping. My response at the time from management was that AC units were being updated and to request an updated AC unit should we visit again. (I also read a trip advisor review from another guest 3 years ago who wrote of the AC This was the reason I booked again at Maui Hill. I called about a month before our visit and spoke with management about an upgraded AC unit and was assured we would be given a quieter AC unit. I was disappointed that we had the same type of AC unit we had before and were unable to use the AC at night in our room. Given that I had phoned as management had advised and requested updated AC unit, I did not think there was any point requesting another unit during our stay. I know there are many condos in Maui that do not have AC but one pays more $ for resorts that have AC. I have given the rating 3 because of the location, grounds, pool area and bed comfort. I will not stay here again.
