Nice property, but Don't look for piece & quiet here.

Beautiful property, especially back in the 80's though 2000 ( my 12th visit), but now so many kids that it is a nightmare at either pool. Hot tubs didn't heat up for 2 to 3 days, and sediment build up so bad by 10:00 you wouldn't go in them. Should keep one for adults only. This is not a place where you go for piece & quiet. Food at restaurant is good, but service fair because of limited staff. Would not return.

Highly Recommended Resort

We had the two bedroom suite with kitchen, living/dining room area and two bathroom, washer/dryer...and it was well worth it! Balcony overlooks garden with partial ocean view (we opted to not book full ocean view). Excellent experience! Property is well-kept, clean, and we felt safe at all times. Five minute drive to whaler village, so is very close to great restaurants and shopping. On-site restaurant was very good too! Pool areas are great and family friendly. The beach near this hotel is not suitable for swimming but we knew that ahead of time. Here again, quick drive to whaler village which has plenty of parking and awesome beach area--solves that easily. Highly recommend this resort!

Great place to stay for a family!

We loved everything about our stay! We stayed in the 2-bedroom, ocean view place (plus loft). It was great having so much space, plus a kitchen and dining room. It was so easy to walk down to the 2 pools, get smoothies at the restaurant, and walk down to the pool. Although there wasn't cleaning service, we really didn't mind because we had what we needed. Whenever we requested anything, extra blankets or more laundry soap, we got it easily and quickly. I have already recommended Aston Kaanapali Shores to friends. It was an awesome place for a family of 4. It made our stay even better!

Overall good experience

We booked these accommodations through Costco Travel. Overall, we were quite satisfied with our stay. Some specifics: The pros: - Great location. Could walk to restaurants, a food truck park, and it was an easy drive to Kapalua and Black Rock. On the last morning, we found a lovely boardwalk path leading north from about a block from the hotel. - Spacious layout (one bedroom garden view) - Nice beach - it is narrow, but the sand is soft, and there were enough waves for the kids to boogie board. - Nice pools and hot tubs - The prices for the retail stores and restaurants were reasonable (by Maui standards), and I didn't feel gouged. - Our unit was very clean (no bugs), and there were newer cabinets and countertops. Opportunities to improve: - The sofa bed was ancient and creaky. Not to standard for someplace that "sleeps 4" as a primary sleeping space. - Limited items in the kitchen (no colander, blender, cookie sheet, broom), only 3 bath towels for 4 people for one week (we asked for more at the front desk and had to wait a couple of hours for a delivery), only one thin blanket on each bed with no extras available in the unit. - The washer and dryer were also ancient and tiny. - For the price we paid (Christmas week admittedly), I don't think we should have been charged $7 for the gym (a bit of a nuisance).

DO NOT COME EXTREMELY DIRTY AND UNPROFESSIONAL

Extremely unhygienic and even worse employees and service. Upon arrival the front desk staff was very rude and just pointed to things. Same attitude with another employee. When we checked the bed, the sheets blanket and pillows were DIRTU AND UNWASHED. They had a moldy smell. When I called the front desk to replace them, I waited over an hour, with a simple answer of only one housekeeper available. After waiting, she delivers only the blanket to make it myself, none of the other items. Upset I called again when the line told me I would have to pay a service fee to remake the bed that they screwed up. Not a single apology mind you. If you want unprofessional, unhelpful and unhygienic hotel this is the place. I am furious that I cannot cancel my stay. They will keep things dirty and upcharge you. They absolutely do not care. Please PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE
