Convenient and close to the beach

The Maui Coast Hotel is in a great location: close to the beach, a nice little ABC store nearby. The rooms are comfy and spacious. They also have a really nice gym! I wish the construction next door wasn't so noisey but once it's over I'm sure it will return to normal.

Not a luxury resort by any means. The restaurant is only open for breakfast (definitely worth a visit), but the rest of the day it’s burgers and beer at the (small-ish) pool. In-room amenities are unexciting, and the coffee undrinkable. Construction next door starts up at 7am— so rise and shine! Best news is that the hotel is walking distance to beaches, food, shopping.
Avoid…For Now

I would avoid staying here until their construction is completed and they get rid of their new affiliation with Kihei Caffe. Monday-Friday all day loud trucks, concrete machines, jack hammering outside the pool and can be heard from rooms. In regards to the food, it is a serious let down to see Kihei Caffe take over because their previous restaurant Kamaole Pool Side was delicious. Kihei caffe is a breakfast company that has clearly never prepared lunch or dinner meals. Very limited menu and hardly edible. The old rooms need serious updating. Popcorn ceilings, fans from the 90s and yellow stained step-over tubs in the bathroom. The bathroom door BARELY opens enough to squeeze by the toilet. There was a leak from the AC and carpet was soiled in my room. Their solution was the put a loud and large fan on it for two days. The van driver Jamie was absolutely wonderful and the front desk was very polite. Lastly, I find it odd that the hotel employees are not allowed to show their cultural tattoos but servers in the restaurant have face tattoos.
Do not stay! Loud construction!

So much construction! You cannot enjoy the pool or amenities until about 5 or 6 pm because it’s underneath a massive construction site that sounds like you’re back in the big city. Wouldn’t stay here again for a few years until it’s finished! If you stay here make sure you plan to be out and about so the construction doesn’t wake you up.

We did a sister trip for our birthdays and thru the recommendation of a dear friend we were able to get a room here and we couldn’t have been happier. Everything was amazing from the location which is perfectly centrally located, to the room and most importantly the hosts from Joanna and Kaui to everyone I spoke to at the desk. Working in the industry for 27 years I know good customer service when I feel it … and the host of the Maui Coast Hotel are top notch! My sister and I can’t wait to go back! Keep doing what you’re doing … Denise from Honolulu
