Wonderful property!

sijk2007 on Oct 10, 2025

I was so surprised at some of the negative reviews. We loved this place! No, it wasn't perfect...our unit was lovely, but could use a few easy changes. The refrigerator has a huge scratch, the kitchen cabinets could use some love, there's too much furniture in the living room...but I would definitely stay here again! The grounds are lovely, the pool and hot tub was sparkling clean. The sunsets were spectacular! The view of the ocean is distant... The kitchen was well equipped but you need to bring everything including salt and pepper. That's ok, we just stopped at Walmart after picking up our rental car. There are 2 (expensive) grocery stores a few miles away in Kihei. We also used the Island Gourmet shop for great carry out at The Shops at Wailea. They gave us a couple starters of fabulous Hawaiian coffee, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, starter laundry detergent, bounce, plenty of TP and paper towel. The staff was great. There are 2 gorgeous beaches a reasonable stroll away and we walked into Wailea every day. Yes, it's a bit of a trek, but we love to walk and it was safe and well lit even at night. Of the 3 properties we stayed at in Hawaii, this was my favorite. I felt like I could live here (if only!)

Needs a refresh

RelaxedTravelers2 on Sep 30, 2025

We stayed at the Palms in 2018 or 19. The condo we stayed was great so this trip we booked at The Palms again. We were disappointed! Our unit hasn't been refreshed since it was built in 1990. The carpet was ripped . The entire interior needed a fresh coat of paint. The grounds and pool were in great shape.

Amazing condo, amazing location

VE_512 (Austin, Texas) on Aug 23, 2025

We stayed at Palms at Wailea 1002, and it was one of the best vacation rentals we've ever experienced. The condo was spacious and beautifully decorated. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom layout was perfect for our family, giving everyone plenty of room to relax. The kitchen had everything we needed and included basics like some spices and olive oil. We loved the lanai. It had a gorgeous view of the ocean and you could see the mountains if you looked the other way. We enjoyed coffee in the morning and dinners on the lanai. The unit was clean, the beds were comfortable, and we loved the space. We thought the location was perfect. Keawakapu Beach, 2 min drive, is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and building sandcastles. We also loved Wailea, Ulua and Big Beach. We enjoyed walking the Wailea Beach Path and exploring nearby shops and restaurants. The boys played golf at Wailea Emerald and thought it was amazing. We loved the proximity Palms at Wailea has to offer for everything. It's also close to Kihei for some cheaper dining, although we cooked at the condo a lot. We booked through alohavacationsmaui.com and saved on VRBO and airbnb fees. As others have said, go the direct route so you know what specific unit you are getting. Last tip, our unit was upstairs so that may not work for some people.

A Paradise in Maui

Lee J on Jun 05, 2025

What a lovely complex. All of the units are individually owned, so some are fabulously updated and some may not be. We rent directly from the owners and have stayed in the same fully updated unit three years in a row and we love it. It has everything that we need in the kitchen for when we want to eat in, comfortable beds, and a spacious lanai with a beautiful view. We love waking up in the morning to the sound of the surf. The closest beach is a short walk or drive and the unit provides us with beach towels, umbrellas, chairs and a cooler, or we can just enjoy the wonderful view from the pool where the kids can play. This is a great place for families!! I understand that some of the units are in a pool that is handled by a corporate entity so you don't know which unit you will be in until you arrive. That might work for some visitors, but we really like to work directly with the owners and to know exactly where we will be staying and how the unit is outfitted and furnished.

Could be better

amannnnda (Orange County, California) on Mar 21, 2025

I absolutely hate to give a place a bad review but this place could use a some love. Let me start off by saying this is the first time in a long time that I have stayed at a rental property versus a resort. There were major differences already but it is apparent that every unit is rented out by different owners and have varying cleanliness, furniture, upkeep, & amenities. It is managed by front desk and everyone was helpful and accommodating, however, if you're expecting this in every unit, it's not going to happen. Our group rented 3 different units and between the 3 of us, 2/3 units had multiple issues throughout the stay. Our unit was the best of three and was ready when we arrived early, the front desk helped us enter 1 hour early. It was cooled down and clean. Keep in mind there's no air conditioning except in bedrooms so that would be rough in the summer. There are dishes, utensils, tupperware but nothing else. Filtered water and ice depends on unit (I called to ask and they had no answers so I bought water but it was not necessary). They provide you with the bare minimum and you pretty much have to buy everything for your stay. The lotion they provided in my unit was partially used but luckily everything was clean. My unit came with beach chairs, snorkel gear, umbrellas and beach towels. My unit also came with dishwashing pods, laundry detergent, extra paper towels, and coffee. The washer and dryer did come in handy as well. All our appliances were in working order but I did have to call them for ants. During our stay, they also had pest control spraying the unit but they notified us one day ahead and we were expected to be out of the unit for an hour at 9am. Pretty difficult to do if you're with kids. Location cannot be beat. If you love the Wailea/Kihei area, it is the best. It is not very close to a beach but you can get to one in a mile or so. Highly recommend Island Market in the shopping center for last minute grocery runs. Overall, it was an okay experience but I could not recommend it for the price you are paying. If you don't need to cook on vacation, you'd best go to a resort.
