Great stay with perfect accommodations

jenines2018 on Sep 01, 2023

The staff was amazing. They assisted us in getting around the resort and were wonderful at getting lost items back to us quickly after the trip. Breakfast buffet is the Bomb! This was our family reunion and even at 1/3 capacity, the staff was pleasant and ready to help. Most of our group is visually impaired and staff was perfect at meeting our needs. The resort is clean and has many fun activities including the various pools. Our rooms were very nice with various interesting artwork and ukuleles! Our upgrade to the Sunset Collection was a very nice surprise and we loved the patio for family gatherings.

Beatrice is amazing! Wailea is open and beautiful

Beatriz Blas was incredible and a beautiful welcoming face upon arrival. To celebrate a birthday and to have a staycation after the maui fires, she was so loving and welcoming. The Marriott in Wailea has always been exceptional, but this time they have really exceeded all expectations!! This side of the island is open and so welcoming. Highly recommended if you want to be totally spoiled and lathered w Aloha!! Excellent experience.

NO ALOHA AT ALL!!!

808Sunshine (Kapolei) on Aug 23, 2023

I am a resident of Hawaii and here for work on a 'group' reservation. I am lifetime titanium and received no acknowledgment nor benefits such as, upgrade, welcome gift etc ... Front desk reps have iterated that I get NO benefits due to 'group' reservation: my pathetic garden view room rate $550 plus resort fee $50 plus $38 self-parking per day! YET, my colleagues who are also on the same 'group' reservation have same elite status (not necessarily lifetime titanium) or lesser elite status than me received room upgrade to ocean view, breakfast coupons, etc ... Very inconsistent front desk customer service where elite benefits are offered to some and not to all that are on the same 'group' res. It's the principle that I'm ranting and complaining about this! Front desk reps, do not give me the bs that due to my reservation on a 'group' reservation that I do not get elite benefits when you've given OTHERS on same 'group res their elite benefits!! Paying +$600 per day at property is outrageous to begin with and it behaves petty with not giving insignificant cost to the property elite benefits that is extended normally. This property is lucky to even have our group there while other hotels are at 20 capacity!!! DO not offer elite benefits under a group reservation to some and then shun others that are entitled to such benefits normally!!! This property is greedy with horrible, inept front desk customer service rep and manager with NO ALOHA!!! Stay away!!!

Beware of misinformation

The rooms at this resort are truly disappointing. We asked for an upgrade to ocean front and we were given an obstructed view of a dirty stairwell with an exit sign shinning at us. The associate that helped us said this was one of her favorite rooms so we agreed to the upgrade price. What a rip off . If this was her favorite room I can’t imagine what her least favorite was. They also wasted an entire day of our vacation keeping our luggage packed for the anticipated move which didn’t occur until 5 pm . The hotel staff can care less about their customers . Truly disappointing. Thank goodness on our next island we did not stay at a Marriott and had a wonderful room .

Truly Disappointing -- just dont dont know what to expect from a Marriott property

Konea K (Vancouver, Canada) on Aug 17, 2023

For the amount of points/money that you pay, the room that we stayed in needs to be renovated. It is dark, old and really tired. So much so that the bed squeaks when you change position! For a platinum/elite memeber, they put me in a partial ocean view room and all their solar panels which is a definite eyesore. The only perk they gave us was a breakfast voucher for some muffin/pastry and drink - thats it! And the self parking for $38 a day ($50 for valet) is in a garage that has very tight spaces wherein the passenger has to get out first before you park so the driver can open his door and get out of the vehicle. But what really irked me was the $5 charge to get someone to bring me an official document I need to my room! That is a first for me and a real failure staying in a Marriott property. When I asked a lady at the front desk (her name is Shanley) she arroganly said it is something normal and that they have 22 acres of land -- yes, but my room is just a 30 second walk from the reception counter to my 7th floor room!!! How dissapointing. One just cannot be sure what you are going to get in a Marriott Property!
