Sean the bell boy is the worse

LZclouds (Alta Loma, California) on Aug 01, 2021

It was our first time on the big island of Hawaii and we had our whole family come with us. My 96 year old grandfather and my disabled dad was with us. We stop in front of the hotel and the bell boy SEAN was very rude and inappropriate. Worse customer service especially being diamond members. We asked him a question where breakfast was a couple times (it’s hard to understand because of the mask) also my dad is hard of hearing. He was getting impatient and he said under his breath “thought I already said that”. Then my dad just barely touched him on the shoulders when we were tying to tip but he shoved him and said “don’t touch me”. We then apologized but he was still being a mean butt hole. He hates his job. We ended up going to eat at Hilton. Hope you guys don’t have to experience SEAN’s unprofessional behavior.

Housekeeping was wonderful, but that is it

amymU9224OF (Coppell, Texas) on Jul 27, 2021

We traveled as a family and I would suggest no one attempt to visit Oahu at this time because it it overcrowded. Our room was spacious and housekeeping kept it clean. The problem was the noise from the street and others on their balconies. We were on the 10th floor and the noise made it impossible to sleep. The yelling some nights from people continued to party late into the night with no regard to people trying to sleep was annoying. We regretted not packing ear plugs, but I am not sure my kids could/would have worn them. Due to COVID the elevators have restrictions which I completely understand, but standing in the VERY long line at times was frustrating. Their are signs everywhere in the hotel to wear a mask, but the hotel does not enforce this. My family is vaccinated and wear masks which we do to protect us and others. There are so many people without masks on. I feel for the locals of Oahu. COVID will just spread. Food is impossible to find unless you make reservations days to weeks in advance. Yes weeks. The hotel has several restaurants within the hotel and we could not get into them and they have very limited hours. We had to order food or purchase from the ABC store in the hotel. You must try to get away from Honolulu to eat and I mean miles away because there is limited food in the area. You can wait up to 2 hours for a possible table and some places are ONLY first come first serve. We were so excited to visit Oahu, but what a disappointment and we have zero desire to return.
