Cheap and tatty

Stay one night as part of a tour group. Tatty old rooms. Bed and shower is about it. No fridge, coffee maker.
Bad service

Terrible service. They charge a resort fee, and on top of that, everything is reserved, so there’s nowhere to sit in a decent spot by the pool. The room is not cleaned daily. The check-in process takes forever, and they don’t even give you your room until 5:00 PM, hours later. I booked a renovated tower, but it’s old and not new at all. I also booked a room with a Strip view, but they gave me a pool view instead. Very bad hotel, absolutely not recommended.
Don't book if you don't like hassle.

Stayed for 5 nights, were given a room with a lovely view of some bins! Were supposed to have early check in, but didn't and they still tried charging us. Had to queue for an hour to get the room changed. I know it's cheap but not worth the hassle.
Reasonable price for an average stay

Overall, this hotel is a no-frills, economy-class, castle-themed resort. We came into this stay knowing that the hotel is in desperate need of updating and TLC. We stayed two nights in the Resort Tower which was the most recently renovated rooms. The rooms were still very outdated. To be fair, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was no lingering odors as we had read in other reviews. With that being said, the curtains were only for decoration and the window shade had major gaping that made it hard to sleep past dawn. There are no USB ports anywhere in the room, which means you either need to bring a wall plug or rent one of the portable chargers from the lobby/casino floor, starting at $8 an hour. Additionally, the room walls and bathroom floor were a little beat up, and all of the metal (think sprinklers and the like) pieces in the bathroom were rusted. The check-in and out process was fast and easy and they will hold your bags for free (the bellhops do work for tips though). Be aware of the timeshare people who post themselves just inside all of the entrances to the casino. They are not there to give you free tickets or a "welcome gift"; they just want to get you into a 2+ hour presentation for a timeshare, and they do look like they are a part of the hotel staff. The food selections are not the best, and we paid $50+ for breakfast at Fatburger when we could have spent less at Denny's down the road for roughly the same price. Vegas is crazy expensive to our sensitive Midwest wallets, so it was helpful to find that Zoox is tied in with the Excalibur as a pickup and drop-off location. Pros: *Clean room *Basic body soap, hand soap, lotion, and shampoo provided *Comfortable bed *Air conditioner went to 60F *Zoox is available for rideshare *Check-in/out process was fairly straightforward *Overall room cost was reasonable compared to other resort options Cons: *Outdated furnishings *No USB ports in the room *Walls and Bathroom floor needed paint/new grout - Basic repairs needed *Air conditioner was loud (we sleep with a white noise machine, so not bad for us) *Prices of everything were crazy expensive (Typical Vegas, I guess) *Timeshare people are persistent *Food options were pricey and of mediocre quality
Don't stay at the Excalibur hotel

The hotel was cl.ean the rooms were very nice ,but I have to say the staff In the hotel were not very welcoming ,we were told to book in at a machine there was a long line up,We could not do the checkin on the machine as we didn't have a phone, we were told that next time we came we had to have a phone or we could not get booked in, then we were sent to the reception which took forever, one lady who was booking people in decided to go for a break after every person she booked in. Very frustrating. I think the staff need to have lessons in customer service will never stay there again.
