*** Untrustworthy **** A stay so bad I came back to TA after 8 years to leave it

Hotel was basic for what you paid which I expected. This is not a hotel where you can feel safe with your belongings. At the bottom of the elevators is a security guard and you need a key card to access your floor. Seems secure but far from it. On the last day I left as house keeping started to clean the room and I passed them entering as I left the room. I returned 20 minutes later to drop something off and saw housekeeping a few rooms down but I got a weird look and they made eye contact with Me which felt off and kinda a "deer in headlights" look from them as they weren't expecting to see Me so soon. It seemed like they wanted to say something but didn't. I get to my room and I noticed the trash was stored a few rooms down, then I noticed the ROOM DOOR WAS LEFT OPEN BY HOUSEKEEPING. All I had to do was push the door open without my room key to enter. I tested the door to see how easy it is for it not to catch, and it wasn't easy unless you close the door veey slowly right until the end. I looked around the room and nothing was thankfully missing. To give housekeeping the benefit of the doubt I asked them when I left if they had finished in the room and said "yes." I told them they left the door open and they didn't respond. Could have been a mistake on their end but this felt off, and felt like they had maybe contacted someone that the room was left open for them to come and take items. I reported this to the hotel and a "someone will follow up" response was given but never received one. Here is where the security of non-guests also comes to play. As mentioned you need a hotel key card to access any floor and their is security at the bottom of each elevator. At least 3 nights throughout the stay there was pizza menus delivered under our door (scam to get your credit card information.) I saw one of the people delivering the flyers on the floor and they were sitting down waiting for their partner and had what looked to be a very empty backpack. They were definitely not guests of the hotel. How is it that these people can access every floor when you need a keycard to do that and security is at the bottom of the elevator entrance? Definitely think twice before booking here if you want to feel safe on your trip. There is next to no customer service either, you check in yourself on a kiosk and print your own hotel keys.
Good location for families!

Was a good location for our family of 6. Staying somewhere family friendly was a top priority, which Excalibur delivered on! We also saw "Tournament of the Kings." Highly recommend for families, especially with young children. Our (2) 5yr olds and 9yr old loved the show! They could scream/yell as loud as they wanted and they blended right in! We had front row seats which was perfect because our kids could stand and no one was in front of them.
Great Experience
