Nice Hotel

NicholasMW01 (Louisville, Kentucky) on Dec 07, 2022

Spent 5 days at the HILTON GARDEN INN and with mazing staff. They were friendly and wiling to give ideas for things to do. Overall I gave it 4 stars because it was missing two things. 1. Limited food menu. The food was amazing with a great view of the ocean, but only had a couple of options. Wish they had more to choose from. 2. They state they have a beach, but don't tell you it's a state park. The start park has two protected areas for snorkeling and swimming, but out side those protected areas the water is rough. You have to walk about 15 mins to the beach. Overall, I would go back and take my family with me to enjoy this property and Kauai.

The good and not so good - our opinions

Dave3622 on Dec 04, 2022

Good - friendly staff - good quality food - walking distance to Lydgate park (excellent for beginner snorkelers), ocean view Not so Good - everything needs some updating….some things appear worn - room was dark - windows were very smudged so you couldn’t see the ocean very well - none of the room windows open so you can’t get any fresh air - none of the rooms have balconies that we could tell, so your room is kind of like a “cell”? - as Diamond members we chose the $20/day credit. Of course upon receiving our receipt they forgot to credit us. Had we not been checking……so we had to call back to get this. Why do businesses always make “mistakes” in their favor? - room cleanup was very slow. One day at about 5pm I chased them down just to get new towels, coffee, etc. - they say they don’t offer coffee downstairs, or pens/pads, stationary/envelopes, etc., because of Covid, yet we moved next to our time share at the Marriott Kauai Beach Club and they have pens/pads, etc., so they are not constrained by Covid. Seems an excuse by HGI to cut costs. - you hear everything in the hallway so if people are noisy…..

Excellent location with a park and spiritual stones right on the bay!

SuzannaE (Dania Beach, Florida) on Oct 22, 2022

I was very comfortable in this beautiful property in a prime sacred location offering daily activities both included and not included. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I throughly enjoyed the restaurant/bar next to the pool. I had the fish tacos and ahi tuna on wonton crisps with MaiTai’s that the hotel provides with the activity fee. They also provide a free two hour bicycle self guided tour, a beach mat and cooler upon request. I purchased a ticket for the fire dancing show and the morning educational tour. I was very impressed with both. I definitely recommend staying here. Thank you very much for everything.

Nice Hotel with Amenities

Mary2846 on Oct 20, 2022

Hilton GI could be a 4 easily with cosmetic and maintenance attention and a bit of updating. We had a cabin - it was clean, comfortable, well furnished but the air conditioner was gross, the WiFi a pain, and the cabins are a touch tired. The lobby is beautiful, breakfast ($50+ for 2) was fine, pools, bar and beach are great.
