Lower your expectations

JD M on Nov 21, 2024

Suncoast hotel offers one thing and one thing only and that is proximity to Disneyland. Paying $330 per night on a weekday id expect a bit more, a hot breakfast, a passable restaurant/bar on site or something. Low water pressure, uncomfortable beds, thin walls and an app that doesn’t work. Not the worst choice if you’re just going to flop down and go to sleep but pretty sad if you have to spend any additional time here.

Our new go-to for Disneyland

ccg001 (Urbandale, Iowa) on Nov 10, 2024

We stayed at this hotel twice within a little less than two weeks (two nights each time), and both times our stay was wonderful. The staff here were easily some of the nicest we encountered on our tour of southern and central California. Special shout-outs to Mish and Ciro, as I really enjoyed our conversations...but really everyone was super nice. I wish I could remember the maintenance individual's name too...as his kindness also stands out. Our vehicle's interior got exceptionally dirty, and when I asked him where a nearby car wash was (for the vacuum cleaners), he immediately offered to let me use theirs. Beyond the great service, there really is a lot to appreciate about this hotel. We had a family suite, and the layout was fantastic. Our kids enjoyed their bed (twin over trundle), as well as the bean bags and board games. My wife and I appreciated the fact that after they fell asleep, we had a space to watch TV and prepare for the next day without worrying too much about waking them. The pool area is also very nice, and the food from the bar/restaurant was very good. I know some have commented, wishing that the hotel offered free breakfast...but that can be a bit chaotic with these Disney-area hotels. Anything free is appreciated when you are going to Disney of course, but you can feel the stress others are experiencing as they try to grab something before rushing out the door to get to the parks. My experience here was much more relaxed, and yet the staff was not in any way slow. I remember one day I mentioned that we were going to one of the parks and they made some mention of the fact that they would try to hurry things up. Admittedly, being a Diamond member and receiving the daily food credit does take a bit of a bite out of the "pain of paying", but really appreciated the quality of the food and service regardless. Proximity to Disneyland is good, and I didn't mind the walk at all, but we have stayed right next to the park before or next to a parking lot that is serviced by Disney buses. In both cases that may be more convenient for families with very young children...especially if you plan to take a break mid-day. The washer/dryer situation was also a little confusing for me, so I'd like to help anyone who might want to take advantage of those. You can sign up for an account with the company that appears to provide the units, but you don't have to. If you do, the app will tell you when the washer or dryer have finished, but of course you can just set a timer on your phone. If you don't sign up, you can easily use your credit card to pay. At the time we were staying, I believe it was $4 for a basic wash and another $4 to dry. You can also increase the length of time they run (I believe there were three settings for the washer for instance). Those increases cost a bit more. In any case, the machine/service takes a hold on your card (I believe for $8), but you are ultimately only charged for the option you pay for. The quality of the wash was not the best, but it also wasn't terrible...and I appreciated just having something to freshen up our clothes a bit (and then not have to pack as much).

Anniversary Stay

Joe D on Nov 10, 2024

Very nice hotel with a short walk to Disneyland. You can also use ART for for small fee. Hotel has a bar and breakfast was pretty decent. Small shop for essentials. Minutes walk from other night life areas and AMC movie theater. Staff was great and always welcoming.

Great from start to finish

Our first experience with Sun Coast was walking in the door to be greeted by Aliyah. She was so pleasant from the first interaction to the last. My parents were celebrating their 58th anniversary and she helped to make their day extra special.

We had the nicest staff member, Aliyah, help us at check in and at the hotel store making our stay very pleasant! We were also given a late check out that was helpful! The pool and restaurant were very relaxing as well! It was an easy walk to Disneyland, we will book again!
