Great stay and friendly staff

To start Aricelli greeted us and was always available by text and she checked in several times throughout the week. The lobby bar staff were great, Santiago, Juan Jose, amd Carla to name a few. They provide a real bar experience, not a typical all inclusive all you can drink pre-made cocktails. Activities with Ivan Miguel, and Fernando were a lot of fun and also very genuine, greeting us by name all week. Lastly main pool service by Leo and Roberto was on point. Fast and frequent service, so good it kept us from going to the preffered pool.
Beautiful vacation

We love it here! We have come back at least 6 times because of the service. Genner, Sonia, Delmer, Carlos, Christian, Cruz, and Roberto were outstanding. The rooms are beautiful, great turn down service. We will be back !
Always amazing

Our favorite location. From lush tropical gardens to beautiful ocean views. Wonderful staff from our Bellboy Tyler to our favorite Hibachi chef Charlie and waiter Izzy in Himitsu restaurant, our favorite waiter Lionel in the Market Cafe. Someone is always cleaning from sweeping the walkways and cleaning the bathrooms. Bar service in the pool is fantastic before you can finish your drink they have another ready for you.
Beautiful Place, but no Beach.

Pros: Beautiful facility. Gardens, pool, main buildings are all gorgeous and meticulously maintained. Food is “good”. Breakfast and lunch buffets, dinner is in one of several restaurants. All fine. We loved the Italian restaurant, Portofino, (Shout Out to Alejandro). Pool is fantastic, swim up bar, lounge chairs and umbrellas, the works. People were terrific. Great service. I felt that the staff genuinely was happy to be of service. Cons: It’s definitely off the beaten patch. There’s no place to walk to, you really have to stay on campus. The beach is unusable. I guess there’s a steep drop-off, and its rocky and not safe for swimming. The pool is great, but for some people, (like my wife!) she really prefers the beach. Only small issue with the pool is that people get up early to snag lounge chairs. By 8AM most of the chaise lounges have towels on them signifying that they’re taken. What really bugged us was that we were besieged with requests to sit through a 90 minute sales presentation for Hyatt Vacations. They even offered us a free three day stay, (we’d pay taxes on that gift), free excursions, etc., if you’re willing to sit through it, (we weren’t). One more thing: When we arrived they made a big deal of giving us a set of coupons whose value, we were told was worth $200. But it was really small discounts on otherwise exorbitantly priced items that they offered. For example a massage that they sold for $285 got a $40 discount. It’s not like you can spend $200 at the gift shop. That’s a hustle.
Good Visit

The resort is beautiful and we had a fantastic time. Our experience was 4 to 4.5 out of 5. Below I have some provided some tips / notes. Hopefully these may be helpful if you read them – and also perhaps the hotel will take notice and address some issues. Arrival: At arrival we were whisked to a separate office where they attempted to upcharge us on a better room. The discussion began as if it was going to be a free upgrade, so I let the discussion go on much too long, only at the end finding out it was a $1,000 increase. To avoid this – be blunt – or just state you want a normal check-in at the normal reception area. To Secrets: We did not enjoy going through a 15 minute cloaked sales pitch the moment we arrived…. Rooms: Ask for a room close to the main hotel. The grounds are not that expansive, but it is generally nicer not having to walk long distances for drinks / pool / food / etc. The best value for us was the swim out ocean view room in Building 5. This is on the first floor (meaning few stairs) – close to the main building – and you have a semi-private pool shared by the first floor of the building. I would strongly advise against the “Preferred” rooms. The only REAL benefit is that you can eat at Ocean’s Restaurant for breakfast (but who cares). Everyone can eat there for dinner. Preferred rooms do offer a separate private bar area, but nobody was there during our stay. Room Service: There is a green and red light switch as you enter the room. Green means come in – red means go away. You can see the light on the outside by the door. If you don’t have the red light on – they will knock quickly and then come in – so remember to use the lights or lock your door. Likewise, if you leave with the red light on – they will not clean your room or restock anything. You can call and order cleaning / towels / room service / fridge restock – but I would highly recommend downloading the Hyatt Inclusive app. When we ordered stuff on the phone – they didn’t always come – or came slowly – or were missing stuff. When we used the app – they always came – and they came quickly. If you have a real problem – leave a poor / low review on the app – and they will resolve it quickly (from our experience – they were monitoring those reviews / feedback). Our room was generally not cleaned and the fridge was not restocked until very late in the afternoon / evening. Note for Secrets: we could not order water bottles from the app when ordering lunch or dinner. Please address ASAP. Restaurants: All the restaurants were good. I would note that the Ocean’s Restaurant is completely outside (covered but no doors). It is HOT. This is also where the “Preferred” rooms get to eat breakfast. So if you go there – you will be sweating. Oddly enough – it is better to sit in the more outside portion of the building where the fans are lower right above your head. The inside portion has only 2-3 working fans and they are way high up with little circulation. I would also note that they at times have live music there (such as a violinist). The music is beautiful – but extremely loud if you are within the inside portion – another reason to site outside under the fans. We found the Asian restaurant to be the best, and we had a great time at the hibachi experience they provide. All restaurants open at 6PM for dinner. If you wait till 7:30-9:00 to eat you will be waiting for a table. Also a note to Secrets: We called to get reservations to the Hibachi experience which must be made the day before. The concierge said that reservations must be made on the app. While using the app was a very simple process, we thought it was silly that the concierge couldn’t make reservations – which is a primary responsibility of that person at most other hotels. Take these comments with a grain of salt. Hopefully some of the notes below will make your stay better and the small criticisms to Secrets will be addressed. We had a great time. FYI – We used Cabo VIP Transportation to get to and from the hotel/airport. Very safe – private SUB – and the driver gave a little driving tour of town on the way to the hotel.
