Dictator in charge, kicked the last guest out on the streets after the Melissa

efreitor S (Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina) on Nov 18, 2025

The hotel´s infrastructure is solid and has many amenities. The beach staff are mostly friendly. Not as the hotel´s manager Miguel Arthurs and reception staff. He made disappear one of the guests that got hysterical during the hurricane Melissa and even threatened the rest of us publicly that the same would happen to us. Finally, the kicked me out on the devastated streets because I was the last guest , waiting for my rescheduled flight. I warn you: DONT GO THERE WHILE MIGUEL ARTHURS IS IN CHARGE.

Horrible, Still Here, Can't Get Out, Stuck

Faythe R on Oct 27, 2025

Don't ever come here. The service was horrible before we got stuck due to the hurricane. Diamond Club status is not worth the money. We are still looking for our butler. Staff members are not knowledgeable and give different answers to the same question The manager, Migel, during his late briefing about the hurricane, stated that the people who wanted to get out, got our. That is not true. We spoke to more than one staff member and got different answers from each. He was combative with guest when they tried to get answers about what to expect during the hurricane To add insult to injury, guest were told that they would get one rate and were charged for a higher rate. When confronted by guest, Migel was heard telling the Honey BeeZ Group that they would honor the lower price for them but not for others. Not acceptable. I complained about services and the guest representative took down my concern and stated that I would be contacted by management. I am still waiting. I am a travel agent and would not refer not one client to the Royalton Hideaway.

Disappointed not a 5 star hotel

Patrice N on Oct 27, 2025

We stayed at royalton adult only in negril for 3 nights with family, 8 of us in total. Unsure how they can get a 5 star rating. Disappointed from we entered the hotel. We had a very long check in, 3 people were not added to the initial booking, so that took a very long time to sort out. After more than an hour and half we went to eat and came back as our rooms were not ready. When we checked our booking it was different from what we were being charged at checking in, more was added to the bill. They tried to take the same payment twice and even the next 2 days after we had to go back to reception 2 more times to sort out the bill. The general manager had to review it, for us to get the correct bill. There excuse was there accounting department is in Barbados and don’t work on weekends. Also there is communication issues between booking and reception. The staff The staff is the only thing that saved the hotel, pleasant staff, with the exception of one staff, a hostess and a very unhelpful security guard. Food The food was very average and at times, less than. Not an 24 hour food hotel at all. Even if you get to the buffet just after it opens, the food is still barely warm. We had to wait about 10 minutes for hot drinks every morning and it’s luke warm, then another 10 minutes for the milk, machine in restaurant break down. Only 2 restaurants are open per night and very limited food choices. You would think being in Jamaica, lots of fresh foods, fruits, sea food, nothing like that. Fruits-limited- no taste, tin fruits served, few sea foods, except tiny piece of lobster in bowl of pasta. And some cray fish which was served cold and had so much hot pepper, almost inedible. Food quality was such a letdown. Entertainment One night there was a Michael Jackson that was good. Live band 2 nights and music playing at a bar area, nothing else. The rooms We booked junior suites, the rooms are tired/worn and need a lot of work to bring them up to a 5 star rating. Room service plates left outside for hours. Rooms were not prepared for multiple occupants, no robes, a few bottles of water, sodas/fizzy drinks and cans of red stripes. When the beddings were changed, they forget to replace the pillow cases. One curtain could only be pulled halfway at balcony door. The AC could not be adjusted, room was freezing. Bad leaking in one of the rooms and it was not fixed until next day. Was told they had called the room and because no one answered, they did not sent anyone up the fix it. I’m assuming we needed to supervise the repair person, as if we’re working for the hotel. They did not have an issue sending someone to fix it the next day without us being present. They gave us a bottle of wine as compensation ??. The hotel environment overall The whole hotel needs major work. First impressions at the lobby is 2/3 star, worn furniture. Painting going on at lifts outside walls, very strong smell the whole time we were there, could not avoid it. Limited toilets around grounds and some not working , very difficult to navigate around the hotel. My nephew was checked out of his room by mistake, another trip to reception. Worst hotel stay ever would not go back to royalton negril unless they did a major upgrades, sort out the communication between the departments and improve food etc up to the 5 star rating they say they are. Waste of money, so disappointed and the overall experience was very stressful for the whole group. Couldn’t wait to leave, very glad we only stayed for a few days. It would have been horrible staying there for a week.

Incredible hotel staff

R2535DSmarkn on Oct 26, 2025

Sally and myself, just wanted to take some time to thank the Vibe team and bar staff at the Hideaway that helped make our stay so special. Baby Dragon, Baby Face and Prince went to such efforts to make us feel welcome, appreciated and entertained. The fantastic bar staff kept the cocktails flowing and always made us laugh. Despite already being in paradise, having such an incredible team of talented people who are prepared to go out of their way to enhance your experience really does make a massive difference. We’ll definitely be back one day!!

Hideaway" is Right - Hide from this "Luxury" Resort! The Negril Nightmare

OnAir10285785896 on Oct 23, 2025

This was, without a doubt, the most disappointing experience I have ever had. We booked the Hideaway at Royalton Negril expecting a five-star, adults-only escape, but what we got was a worn-out resort, subpar service, worn down furniture and a constant feeling of being an afterthought to the main, family-friendly Royalton side. Infrastructure: Beyond Disrepair, It Was Unsafe The constant breakdowns and failures made the resort feel like it was actively collapsing around us. * Elevator Traps and Water Woes: People were stuck in the elevators multiple times during our stay. If you weren't stuck, you were dealing with the water being cut off in the rooms—a major issue that occurred several times. * A Leaky Roof in "Luxury": When it rained, our "luxury" room felt like a cheap tent. The ceiling leaked, which is frankly shocking for a resort marketed at this level. * Disrepair is the standard: Missing hardware, broken fixtures, a dirty glass door on the patio, and a phone that didn't work the entire stay. For the price, this level of disrepair is utterly unacceptable. The "All-Inclusive" Lie: Limited Dining and Hidden Fees The promise of an all-inclusive gourmet experience was nothing but a sham designed to limit our options and constantly try to extract more money. * Restaurants? Only Half of Them: Of the eight specialty restaurants advertised, only four were actually open on any given night. The limited availability led to long waits and a disappointing lack of variety. * Constant Up-Charging: The staff was clearly trained to up-charge us at every opportunity. Every "culinary experience" felt less like a fine dining option and more like a sales pitch to spend more on wine, lobsters, or "exclusive" dishes. The "all-inclusive" price barely covered the basics. The "Adults-Only" Misrepresentation The Hideaway is sold as an adults-only sanctuary, but the resort management ensures you're never actually separated from the main family resort. * Kid-Filled "Adult" Parties: Every major event and most of the evening entertainment were held on the family-friendly Royalton side. This meant the supposedly adults-only themed parties were full of children, completely ruining the atmosphere we paid a premium for. * An Afterthought: The "adults-only" Hideaway area felt like a forgotten corner—a small pool while the family side enjoyed the main stage and all the best beach space. Bottom Line: Save your money and go somewhere that actually delivers on its promise of luxury. This resort is coasting on an old reputation, and the experience is defined by broken infrastructure, terrible service, and a complete failure to deliver the adults-only getaway they advertise. This was a nightmare. Never again.
