Great Stay but Buffet Quality Needs Significant Improvement
Liton C on May 30, 2026
We enjoyed many aspects of our stay; however, we would like to share some constructive feedback regarding the food and beverage experience, particularly the buffet service. As a five-star resort, guests generally expect a higher standard of freshness, variety, and live food preparation. The buffet menu felt quite repetitive throughout our five-day stay, with many dishes appearing similar each day. In addition, several items often seemed dried out and not freshly prepared, which reduced the overall dining experience. Introducing more fresh food options, rotating daily menus, and increasing live cooking stations would significantly improve food quality and guest satisfaction. Freshly grilled items, made-to-order dishes, and interactive cooking counters are commonly expected in premium resorts and would create a much more enjoyable atmosphere. We also noticed that some fresh fruits and ingredients were frequently unavailable. For example, mango, which is widely associated with tropical destinations, was not available at all during our entire stay. At times, even fresh lime was missing from the bars, which affected drink quality and consistency. We believe that improving the freshness, variety, and presentation of food and beverages would greatly enhance the guest experience and better align the resort with five-star hospitality standards.
Totally relaxing and enjoyable!!

Excellent experience. Food was top notch. Drinks at the Bahia Principe Escape were all high quality, Bombay Gin, 12 year Appleton etc. staff were exceptional in all areas. From the bar to the Buffett to the al a’cartes. The rooms were clean and large. The room was kept clean and serviced each day. Mini Bar was refurbished each day without exception. The friendship and kindness from the staff is worth mentioning. Just lovely people. Loved the lobby bar, good drinks and great service. The coffee bar behind the lobby bar was excellent, what a treat!!! I would definitely recommend this resort. Can’t comment on the entertainment but can say they were friendly and always willing to engage in a chat or fun. The pool was buzzing all day. Volley ball at the pool was “on the go”. Great games going. Poolside dance and movement sessions. Of course there was a white party, beach party once a week. And a foam party on Sunday nights. While we didn’t partake we heard all good comments.
Very bad food & and mostly closed for construction

An okay trip but not worth the price. There are significantly better options. 1) the food is terrible. Often the buffer was cold, over cooked meat, undercooked potatoes/rice, and generally very bland. The menu is catered to very simple tastes, and picky eaters. Why are they serving chicken nuggets for breakfast? 2) the majority of the resort is closed for construction. When I went in May 2026, most of the pools, beachfront, bars, restaurants, shops and activities were closed for construction. This information was not presented to me at any time when making my booking. The limited area of beach that was opened was a poor quality and the better quality area of the beach on the east side of the property was not accessible. 3) there isn’t much to do on the resort itself If all you wanna do is drink lie in the sun by a pool this resort is fine. But if you actually wanna do things, see things and eat local foods, this resort is a very bad choice. Travelling off resort is timely and expensive because of its location. If you want to see more of the country book a resort in Ocho Rios or any of the other towns.
Reopened too soon — not the luxury experience advertised

Stayed shortly after the post-Hurricane Melissa reopening. The resort was marketed as "enhanced" and "completely refurbished" but in reality roughly half the property was still closed, with active renovation work ongoing. On weekdays, only 1 of 3 à-la-carte restaurants was open. The app falsely showed restaurants as "full" when they visibly weren't, and the earliest dinner reservation it offered was 9:00 PM — unworkable for our group of elderly travelers. The Bahia Principe app failed throughout: I had to call and email just to get a check-in QR code, was repeatedly locked out, and when I finally logged in with my own email, it showed another guest's room under my account. Worst of all, we found a blood stain on our bed sheets — it took over 30 minutes and multiple calls at 10:00 PM to get them changed; another guest in our group reported blood-stained towels. Visible cracks on the walls, dated rooms. This is a 4-star property mid-renovation being sold at luxury rates. Wait until they're actually ready.
Grat vacation.

We booked 6 nights at this hotel and we have had an amazing time. The hotel is spotless, beautiful and the staff are lovely. The Mosquitos in the room are terrible though, and there are just so many. My top tip would be to pack a bottle of bagen or another spray aswell as your body spray. The food choices are vast and there was always something lovely to eat. Check out the Rasta Jerome that has a little spot on the beach in the sea! His lobster is out of this world. The best I have ever had! I didn't think much of the private man made beach. You definitely need your beach shoes for this one due to the Rick's in the sea, and the deepest it gets is to your waist! Not good if you lije to swim. Our room had an iron, ironing board mini fridge and safe. My bathrobe was a bit on the small side, but hey ho. Like all large resorts, the animation team work extremely hard. A big shout out to Anita and crazy legs- you guys definitely put your all into everything you do. The bar servers around the pool were great too! Thank you to Terry, Amanda and two amazing trainees- Kimora Boyd and Mickaila Dobson. Always very friendly, smiley and kept us refreshed throughout our days at the pool. Very professional and always gave service with a :-) All are a credit to this hotel A big shout to the tall brown man that makes the most amazing espresso Martini's at the main bar. I'm sorry, I don't know your name but you are just the best. Thank you Bahia, we had a blast
