Not great except for Atlantis

travelingcouple2023 on Jan 26, 2023

Unless you don’t care about having a decent room and will be spending all day every day at Atlantis, this hotel is not worth it. For us, the most alarming problem was insects in our toilet whenever we flushed. This was so unsettling we asked for a different room, only for it to be the same in the new room, so this must be a building-wide plumbing issue. The rooms are old and tired. The shower had zero water pressure and the shower head was almost falling out of the wall. The toilet was wobbly and would leak all over the floor if leaning the wrong way. All of this for over $300/night (including taxes & fees). Then there is the front desk situation, which is awful. There is a constant line that moves very slowly because the checkin process is a nightmare. We had to wait over 45 minutes in line just to get keys because we had checked in earlier in the day. When we requested a new room (because of the buggy toilet!) they told us to come down to the front desk right away to get new keys - except we had to wait in line AGAIN, this time for 25 minutes, and no one at the front desk even knew about the problem. Whoever answers the phone for the “front desk” is not actually out front and does not communicate with the front desk. There is also no one around to handle non-checkin matters, so no matter what you need, you’re waiting in line. Management needs to seriously overhaul their processes and improve communication & consistency across staff, because right now it’s nonexistent. I also overheard 2 separate parties reporting that they were given rooms that were already occupied so they had to come back to get different rooms; how does that happen in 2023 at a chain hotel that should have a decent computer system for managing rooms/reservations? On the bright side, the restaurant, pool bar, and housekeeping were all excellent and friendly. The pool has a swim up bar and the bartenders were very fun. The breakfast had an excellent selection and great coffee. Unless this hotel gets a major renovation and seriously improves the front desk situation, we won’t be back. The Atlantis perks just aren’t worth it unless you’re there all day every day and don’t care about having an old room that may or may not have broken/dirty bathrooms. Otherwise, stay somewhere nicer and just buy a day pass for the day you want to do all things Atlantis, it’ll be a better value.

Overall for the value , I would recommend

Pros - Beds were super comfortable and room was very nice. The restaurant has amazing food. The location was nice. Be ready to walk. The front desk has a tourist area. We did the powerboat adventures. It was the best excursion I have ever done. I strongly recommend. Cons- Wifi works great during the day, but slows way down in the evening. Check in process was horrible. Waited in line for over an hour because there was only 1 person trying to check everyone in. Got to the front around 310 an was told room still was not ready. I had to go to the back of the line and wait again. Was a very frustrating process. Pool was very cold. Nobody was getting in due to how cold the water was. But in their defense , it was the same at the Atlantis pools. Overall for the value , I would recommend. It is a great location and you get privileges at the Atlantis.

The experience was pretty good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and the breakfast menu was pretty satisfying. This is a good option to not break the bank. Full assess to Atlantis beach and amenities. Free parking is a plus!

Worth the Cost for Free Breakfast and Waterpark

DayTrip07491013975 (San Diego, California) on Jan 23, 2023

This hotel is highly recommended for its proximity to Atlantis Bahamas! We were walking distance to it so it was very convenient for us when we had to access the water park, the casino, the marina, the bars, and the restaurants. :) The hotel grants you a water park bracelet for free and the only caveat is that you must pick it up on a daily basis by bringing your pink card and showing identification. Just head to Atlantis and locate the kiosk nearby the huge predator aquarium. The room we got had a nice view of the trees and the pool area. Free breakfast was amazing with its variety. Their Bahamian sausage with yellow grits was really good. We enjoyed our stay here and would totally go back! P.S. Pic included is for the Atlantis waterpark. :)

Best kept travel secret

Molly W (Framingham, Massachusetts) on Jan 18, 2023

This was my second stay at this property. I was with my family (young adults and I’m in my 70s) and they want this to be an annual trip. Here are the good things: very nice rooms with a sitting area, a good included breakfast outside by the pool and unfailingly gracious staff. Here is the great thing: included day passes to Atlantis which is just across the street. Atlantis is so much fun with an amazing aquarium, lovely grounds, beautiful beaches and the best water park I have every seen. I think Comfort suites is closer to the water park than some of the towers at Atlantis. Passes to Atlantis are $190 a person, so if you price the hotel, it’s an incredible bargain. It’s also an easy walk to a couple of nice restaurants and we had a very nice dinner at the hotel restaurant also. We will be back!
