The service and quality is lacking and subpar.
No concierge or support - not even instructions on how to get to the west wing where our room was, or to the elevator banks from front desk staff when checking in. We were instructed to use the Baha Mar app for all of our needs, but the app would rarely load properly.
Hotel staff are outright rude and struggle to answer or help with the most basic requests.
When I went to get a new key - as it was not unlocking the door from the get-go - I was looked at with distain and told that my bracelet wasn’t broken. I had to plead to get a new key as I couldn’t get into my room. The front desk employee contested my claim at least twice, before finally relenting. Replacing my bracelet deactivated my roommate’s key, but we had to find that out the hard way when she went to use her original bracelet to enter our room.
When asked if there were any instances in which we did not need to reserve a lounge chair, an employee informed us that all lounge chairs at all of the pools had to be reserved for a charge online.
The room itself was shabby and worn. The mattress had a sunken spot, walls showed signs of wear and tear, the shower gel and shampoo tops had been broken off in the shower and were never fixed.
Toilets and sinks in public washrooms on hotel grounds were often broken and out of order, but with no signage. Walked into several bathrooms where toilets had overflowed.
Food quality is poor quality for the price. 3 stars at best.
Service at restaurants was extremely poor- probably the worst service I’ve experience.
Servers seemed disgruntled, unhappy and as if tables and paying customers are a nuisance.
We’re charged an additional $300 in resort fees above the standard $71.50 daily fee in error that had to be removed from the bill.
Additionally, our confirmed pricing wasn’t honoured as per our confirmation email. The front desk employee assured that she’d hold off on charging the card until we were contacted by management, but instead we were charged the full amount and were unable to access our itemized bill for 24hrs
It isn’t just poor customer service and attentiveness, there’s a complete lack of service and any interaction with staff was negative with the odd exception.
They try not to acknowledge you and are absolutely not attentive. If you ask staff at a restaurant, desk or other area a question, you usually get a blank stare or a frown and shoulder shrug. A specific example- (she hadn’t even looked at the key). She looked at me as if I was an idiot.

Specific instances included:
- a server providing our table with chips, which we had assumed were complimentary. As we ate the chips before ordering, we were told that they were for another table. As he went to grab the half eaten dish to remove it from our possession, we asked if he was really going to take it away. He snapped, “unless you want to pay for it”. The same server informed us that there was no tap water, and only Evian, to drink.
- Meals that would take extended m periods of time to be served - in one case, over an hour, at which point it was 10pm, and we were no longer hungry. We also had empty wine glasses for the majority of the wait.
- No server would ever check in on the table to ask if we needed anything or order any additional items

Went with three couples for a 40th. Expensive rooms for what they are when you know 80% of the guests are comped. Hot water ran out one day. Food was CRAZY expensive and mediocre at best. Sugar factory was the best service and only well priced excellent food. Casino people don’t even fake being nice. Not one good luck or kind saying from staff. I should have gone to Europe.
Its huge and so impersonal.

Just here for two days at a business conference and its a monster of a place Gorund floor is all Casino , Vegas like . Outside ,9 pools, numerous bars and beach with hundreds of beds.
Big queue to check in and could get to room till 4.45pm and still it had not been checked properly - door to balcony was broken. Excellent bed and sheets , nice bathroom but beware shower room floor is slippery and there was no shower mat. Small towels and poor quality robes .
Loads of restaurants and all extremely expensive ie breakfast of advance do on toast with a coffee $40 . Meal for two at night always seems to be at least $250 for straightforward food , not fine dining ! Gluten free options were generally poor .
Pleased to escape and yet to check my credit card for any extras.
Do not travel with a young family. If you get an ocean view room you will be woken up by loud events.

2 out of the 4 nights there was a loud event in the courtyard right outside of our window with music and fireworks which started at like 9 PM. We were traveling with an infant and our baby was woken up by the music/event both nights.
Food was very mediocre and extremely overpriced.

It was our first time to the Bahamas and to Baha Mar! First impressions - island, beach, water are all beautiful, Baha Mar reminds me of being in Vegas. We had a short stay of 4 days which I think is perfect. Not easy to leave the resort and pretty much saw and did everything we wanted to here. Yes, it is expensive. I was with a conference so most meals were covered. Because it was such a short trip the higher prices were tolerable. Pours on all the drinks were generous. 1/2 to 3/4 alcohol with a little bit of mixer. Starbucks was a great go to. A snack of pizza and gelato from Pizza Lab was perfect. A large latte at Cafe Madeleine was $11. I wasn’t going there twice a day but a couple times during the trip was okay. The food trucks by the beach were fun and good option for food/snacks. We had an ocean view room on the 20th floor so great views and loved having the patio door open our whole stay. Every time we acknowledged the staff and were nice to them, they were just as pleasant and accommodating in return. Are there better places for the price, maybe. Would I come back here for a long weekend trip, yes.
