Overpriced and old
Gary P on Jan 09, 2026
Considering the cost, this location was not what we expected. Overall, the property is old and deferred maintenance could be seen everywhere. Employees where friendly until you ask for something then it was always someone else would do it which means never. - At check-in we asked for restaurant reservations. They were never made. After finding that out they could only get reservations at 5:30 PM at all the restaurants. - Tried 5 restaurants, only the Italian restaurant offered a good meal. The french restaurant was awful and the steak at the steakhouse tested my manhood trying to cut it. - No towels at the villa pool for 3 days despite repeated requests to employees - Entertainment was mostly blaring DJ music. Local entertainment was very amateur and very loud. PS: My wife arrived home with pneumonia. The water quality at one hot tub is the suspect. Maybe the algae growing in the villa pool. Overall, you can find better accommodations and resort amenities at a much lower cost elsewhere.
A welcoming Sandals Experience

I can say that my boyfriend and I enjoyed our first time stay here at Sandals! Being a millennial, I grew up watching the old Sandals commercials so I expected it to cater to the older tourists and even gave my boyfriend the heads up that this resort would probably be boring but at least we can eat good and go off the resort. To my surprise we actually had fun on the resort! The staff was incredible with the exception of one staff member at the Sweet Things truck. She might’ve had a bad day probably because she definitely acted like she didn’t want to be there. Other than that our butlers Breon and Junior were the best! They took care of us and adapted quickly to whatever changes we needed to make. All of the other staff at the restaurants and resorts acknowledged us and made us feel welcomed. We stayed on the West Bay Honeymoon Butler suite and didn’t mind hearing the music at the pool because that’s more of our vibe anyways. Plus we had a beautiful view of the beach! The only con I can say will be the fact that the elevator was broken and had a smell to it but that wasn’t really a deal breaker for us. For anyone that’s wants a more quiet vibe, the East Bay side is a better fit. The private island is also a must! I just went for a massage and to lay out at the beach. We tried all of the restaurants except the Queens Pearl. Butch’s was my favorite and our Butler Breon got us in with no wait or problems. Wasn’t a fan of the breakfast buffets at Tesoro or Kanoo. To me, it was a boring basic breakfast that you can have back in the US (bacon, eggs, omelets, etc). I would’ve liked it if Kanoo had some Caribbean style flavored breakfast foods included like plantains or like a jerk chicken sausage or something. Overall Sandals gave us a good time!
'HORRORMOON' Extremely Noisy, Cold Food,
Glynis01 (Dorset, United Kingdom) on Jan 06, 2026
"HORRORMOON" not Honeymoon. We booked this as a Christmas holiday which then turned into our supposed honeymoon. The honeymoon suite was very nice overlooking the sea & main 'quite' pool but that's where it ended. The noise was horrendous coming from the speakers in the open air entertainment area. There were speakers in the bushes along the beach blaring out rap music from 7am to 11pm daily. The entertainment area was deserted by 8.30pm when we asked the manager where people went he said "to their rooms" does tis not tell them anything. The food was not good, mainly cold, and 3 you had to book in advance but couldn't rebook until you'd eaten there by which time there were no spaces - hope less. Christmas dinner cold on a cold plate! The staff were very nice and helpful. On day 7 we got moved to a quieter room but by then it was too late to enjoy. Sometimes our room wasn't cleaned properly or the in room bar not stocked. We spoke to several people who had the same experiences as us. This is a 18-30 type hotel. And after speaking to other people this seems to be the way Sandals are now prettying themselves. So if you want a quiet holiday forget Sandals.
Christmas Family Fun!

We had a wonderful Christmas at this beautiful resort. From the ride to the resort in a Royles Royce, to the butler service handling our every detail (Sterling, Kevinson and Kendrick were the very best butlers) even the elite butler office was so professional and attentive. We were in room 614 so the view was great of the chapel and private island. Be aware the gym is above this section and the music and weights dropping from 6 am to midnight was pretty loud. Restaurants were wonderful. drinks flowing and spa was a bit small, but services were professional. I highly recommend this resort and will return.
Pleasant 3-day escape!
FLgirlloves (Orlando, Florida) on Jan 03, 2026
After reading every review here for the previous three months, my husband and I were nervous about this trip. However, thankfully, our experience was excellent. We live in Orlando, so it’s a quick flight over to the Bahamas… So we could enjoy a three day mini vacation. We did have the butler service, which I highly recommend… But also means that we cannot speak to the service others received who did not have the Butler package. First, the good: 1. Our butlers, Tim, Junior, and Madonna were excellent… Kind, engaging, and always willing to help. They had us chilling champagne when we first checked in, got all of our requested dinner, reservations, brought us food and drinks to the beach, and set us up every morning with nice chairs on the beach and a cooler of our requested drinks. 2. Kevin at the West Bay pool bar was so fun and helpful and made awesome drinks. 3. Gabriella @soy and Selena @la Plum were excellent servers, gracious and full of smiles, and we were thankful for both of them in those dining experiences. 4. The food was all very good. My favorite was probably Laplume, but that is because I am partial to all French food. The sushi at soy was also delicious, the coffee in the pink food truck. Every morning was so good and always hit the spot. We had the steak house, butch’s, delivered to our room, one night for dinner and while the steak, Diane was a little tough, the surf and turf was really really superb. 5. Our room, which was the swim up pool suite in the West Bay building was very nice… Loved sitting out there having drinks and it felt private with the wall in the back. It was not loud and we did not see many of our neighbors. 6. Surprisingly, this resort is very very disability friendly… My husband uses a wheelchair to help get around longer distances, and thankfully there were ramps throughout the resort. Next, the opportunities for improve improvement: 1. Calico was our least favorite food. Service not as friendly as other places and the “Caribbean burger“ that was supposed to have plantains, was simply a burger, plain. Not a big deal, by any means, but just a contrast to the food we had received elsewhere on resort. 2. Our mattress was not simply hard., as I actually firm mattresses, but it was seemingly old as I could feel the springs in the mattress every night. 3. If they could heat the pool in December and January to just a few degrees higher, that would be great. ???? 4. Others had mentioned that there were not enough outlets in the room, and I agree with that. If they added one or two more, that would be great. 5. While our room did not have a musty smell and did not have carpet thankfully, the hallways did have carpet and did have a little of that musty smell. Again, not a huge deal. Just something that I noticed. All in all, an excellent mini escape and we will be back!
