Butlers were fantastic that was about it. As well as driver Marcus who picked us up and the other driver who brought us to airport. Resort has mold, pools/Hotub were not clean. Balcony of room needed a lot of Maintance , Waited over 45 min in French restaurant at table just to get orange juice and coffee other patrons came ordered ate and left during that time. We ended up leaving without eating. Food at other places maybe rate a 3 out of 10. To the point we left the resort last 2 nights to eat dinner to eat at Baha Mar. took 3 days to get a remote to control heat/ac which was stuck at 76. for a place that claims to be 5 stars the only thing that was close were the drivers and butlers

3.5 ?? We traveled for my husband’s 42nd birthday. This was our 18th sandals trip, but our first time to this resort. We always book the butler tiered rooms, however, on this trip there was no availability so we got a concierge room. Based upon the recommendations I saw on the unofficial Facebook page, we requested the east bay, but upon arriving the room we were given had no view. After 2 nights they moved us to east bay to the 6th floor and we were much happier with that view and updated design. We would NOT book concierge again as the level of service was just not what we are accustomed to during our sandals stays. Restaurants were very difficult to obtain (if at all possible), prime beach spots were hard to come by with little to no drink service on the beach. Pros We booked this resort due to the short flight from the states and commute to the resort from the airport. Our airport experience was quick and easy. We especially loved going through customs in the Bahamas rather than Miami. Our flight was delayed going home for several hours, but it earned us more time on resort, so we were thankful. We were so thankful to see two of our butlers from emerald bay on resort, Garth & Walden’s. Even though we didn’t have butler service this trip they went above and beyond to ensure we had the best trip. I would 100% recommend requesting them as your butlers. They captured prime spot beach chairs, ensured we had dinner reservations at the restaurants we wished to try (esp for my husband’s bday), provided snacks, kindness and the best service. We loved the gym! Best view from the gym at a sandals resort that we’ve experienced. It does get quite crowded in the mornings so be prepared that you may have to wait for a treadmill. The massages were amazing. Recommend a couples massage. The service at the French restaurant, la plume, was by far the best on the resort. The hostess jasonnique was so prompt and kind. I would love to see her promoted as she is the ideal employee for sandals. Joyful, efficient, knowledgeable. Daniel from pool and beaches department was very efficient at bringing drinks to the beach. Ask him about a fuzzy cosmo. The waves at the beach are so peaceful and relaxing. We did experience an influx of seaweed and the last day it was quite chilly and wavy, but that’s just mother nature. There were 4 cats on the resort. All very friendly, cute and cuddly. They didn’t pester you, but were open to pets if you offered them. We loved the east bay building. It was all renovated. It was also close to the gym and the spot we preferred on the beach. If you notice the hot tubs too full to your liking, check the very back of the resort for a hidden pool and hot tub that is usually empty. The food trucks! I especially loved the strawberry shortcake sugar cookies! So delish! Keep in mind you can’t get cookies until after 11. The conch Mac & cheese from the other food truck is also phenomenal! The resort was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We enjoyed seeing all the beautiful Christmas trees. The French restaurant had the best chocolate martinis and cream brulee. Cons We were not fans of the west bay building. They gave us a room on the first floor with a swim out, but it was very musty, outdated and no view. The aroma upon entering the building is very unpleasant. We were told they are renovating that building, but have not yet made it to that floor. Once they moved us to the east bay building we were much happier with the view, however, it is quite loud on that side so make sure you pack ear plugs or your sound machine. The wait even after you are seated at all the restaurants except la plume was up to 2 hours which was just beyond ridiculous. This was even having reservations. Bathrooms by the beach are not adequate for the amount of people needing to utilize the facilities. There are 4 individual bathrooms and there was always a wait. They tended to be quite dirty, as well. We usually love butches, but we noticed it was not up to the regular butches standards at this location. Even though we had reservations we still waited for over an hour and the food was sub par. Even though I had mentioned to club sandals it was my husband’s bday and even saw it on their sheet, there was no singing or acknowledgment of said bday. A bit disappointing. You don’t see the most beautiful of sunsets due to the position on the island, but it’s still stunning. No bathtubs, almost all of the rooms. The water in our room was lukewarm at best. Overall We would visit this resort again, however, not unless a butler room was available.
