Great spot on the beach

familywithone (Toronto, Canada) on Apr 16, 2026

I really like this place. I like that it is locally owned. I hated that the beach umbrellas are gone before 6 am and the people reserving them waltz down around 10-11 am

The Legendary Legends

PGPerk1 on Apr 13, 2026

My lived experience of Legends Beach Hotel was legendary. From the dining room you get a chance to see an expanse of the white sands, lovely ocean, and a breathtaking sunset...but once you leave the dining room, it's a different world. We thought our A/C being in tip-top working condition was a necessity for the room when we left the hot sands of the beach - ahm yes! My hubby and I decided to share the news about the A/C not working with the front desk but I think the male front desk clerk thought we were an imposition in his day. We couldn't make it up, but facts: we couldn't get a vibe as we walked along the walkway of our set of rooms (the 7s across the road), as the stench of the neighbouring garbage assaulted our nostrils. Do not get us started on the all-inclusive branding with no iron and washcloth ??. We asked about them; however, after which we received both. Again, I think by now the male clerk MUST really have thought we were probably a bit too much for his shift - but should he really have shown us his annoyance though? So, on the following day, when the tech came to fix the A/C we were eventually offered another room...could it be the A/C might really have had a problem? If this wasn't Shakespeare's appearance vs reality coming to life, I don't know what it was. The promenade from our section across the street to the dining room is nothing like the internet. I know, you're thinking I am not real to believe I'd get what I saw right? The place was as other reviewers said, "could use some upgrades," but what about maintenance? We enjoyed our breakfast and lunch daily, but the dinner crew might not have as much 'heart' for dinner. Mind you, we dined at the sister property, Samsara, for dinner one evening, and it was excellent, so one recommendation could be that chefs are rotated. This is really only one couple's tainted experience, but we thought it was solid enough to share. With a reminder that delivering quality customer service is essential to repeat business and recommendations in the service industry, coupled with some nice cleaning crew for the walls, walkways, dining room grills, paraphernalia, and training workshops for customer service for both front desk and dining room staff, I am sure someone else's stay would be different from ours??

I would not come back

Vivian B on Mar 22, 2026

This place is NOT a Resort is mix between hotel and a Hostel. It is a scam to say that it is a resort, the pictures advertised are nothing of what it really is. It has an ugly and old bar in front of the beach it make you wonder if it is safe. The beach chairs are placed 20cm apart from eachother not privacy at all. It is advertised as all inclusive and when you show up at the hotel they charge you for the meals $360 a day per person. A d 4 choices at the most to chooce from. I have been in Jamaica 4 times and I would not come back to this place. This is not a place to come with kids for sure. I would not recomend it at all. They would not give us shampoo and towels were hard to get. I paid $1,580 for 5 days flight and hotel only. For that price in Montego bay I would have got an NICE all inclusive. and their pictures are not what you see once you show up there. It is too expensive for what you get.

Great value and a wonderful beach to walk .

Eugene P on Mar 16, 2026

Great hotel ,very quaint,we added the all inclusive package and it was worth the value but don’t expect 5 star but the chef was very interactive and made wonderful Jamaican cuisine. The bartenders could of been more friendly and smile more as we are guests to your paradise,Having said that that Carrie-Anne who was the waitress but worked the bar on occasion was an incredible bartender and so friendly and always smiling and quick to serve all the patrons at all times .I would promote her to full time bartender any day of the week ! Michael on the beach and security is incredible as always and very helpful .

Relaxing week!

Explorer01675925866 on Mar 15, 2026

My husband and I had a winderful week in the sun. First time at Legends. We stayed at Samsara 3 years ago and loved it. Our room was above the restaurant over looking the ocean. It was clean and the air conditioner worked well. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Food was really good. Better than expected. Always 2 protein choices, vegetables as well as salad and pasta and rice and peas. The chefs did an excellent job! We enjoyed the quiet pool on occasion. The Blue Mountain cafe was a 5 min walk...which we did every morning. We both would have loved to see comfortable chairs in our room, balcony and in the bar area. But not a deal breaker. Planning on returning next year.
