Our happy place!

We have been coming to Legends for several years and we love that they remember us and we see a lot of the same travelers year to year. It's a small place with a lot to offer. If you stay here, you will be greeted and treated like you've been away and just came back home. The location is right on the beach about a mile from town and just starting the 7 mile beach. The rooms are basic, but you're not in there much. Everything is clean and there's even a free shuttle to the sister hotel on the cliffs, west end. The atmosphere is low key and that's how we like it. The hotel is laid back and not a lot of noise unless there's a band next door. It's not a 5 star, but it is to us because of the whole package.
Expectations met and often exceeded

We chose Legends for a simple, affordable vacation, and were pleasantly surprised! The gals in the restaurant and bar and the chefs in the kitchen, the gentleman who tends to the beach and the chairs and all the staff were so lovely even though they had just got back up and running after the hurricane. Get to know them and you'll have the best time! Our room was cleaned every day, and the all inclusive buffets were good, even for my picky tastes. Be sure to bring appropriate clothing and shoes if you're out after the rain or during dawn and dusk as the sand fleas and chiggers come out, and expect nature! You're on the beach!
Not for us.

2 stars for location and beds were extremely comfortable. Housekeeping were very on the ball. If you're looking for a no frills holiday with a poor food selection then go for it. I wouldn't bother with the all inclusive as there's many better options down the beach. The food was absolutely terrible. I had an upset stomach after every meal and the choice was very limited. Cocktails, whilst strong, were very sweet and the staff mostly didn't appear happy to be at work. I was snapped at on more than one occasion whilst waiting at the bar. The vendors on the beach demanding we "release the funds" to them was relentless. I understand that it's an income for them but it needs controlling. Many guests on the sunbeds were fed up with it. We checked out a day early as we'd just had enough and needed to eat something substantial and fresh.
**Unbelievable Service in Paradise Before, During, & After Hurricane Melissa**

Legends Beach Hotel, has hands down the best service, food, drinks, and lodging that I've experienced so far and I've been to Jamacia 3 times now. The Location is incredible, the beach views, crystal clear water, local vendors, and just the locals them selves are a joy to meet. Rooms are cleaned daily, they smell good and the beds are very comfortable. This is the best bang for your buck here! The service before, during, and after Hurricane Melissa, was out of this world, they served us breakfast, lunch, and dinner, during the hurricane! The employees of Legends Beach Hotel are class acts and I will forever consider them family.
