Great service and food

I'm writing this review to highlight the great dining experience I had at this Hilton hotel. My server Jenifer and her manager Khalid made my visit a pleasant one, you can tell they run a tight ship here. The food was great and really surprised me for a hotel so compliments to the chef. If I ever visit Disney or need to stay in the area again Hilton will be my go to for sure.
Great rooms and great location!

We have stayed here several times and it’s one of our go to hotels for Disney visits! The distance is a little on the farther side but it’s usually only around $10 to uber to the parks, and the ART bus is nearby…for now. The lobby is very nice and they do put a lot of effort into the cleaning of the premises. Staff are always helpful and kind. Rooms are very nice, clean, and modern, though on this visit we discovered not all king rooms are the same size, so pay attention to the floor plan if you are selecting your own room on the app. The air conditioning works very well here. We like it to be very cold while sleeping and this hotel does get very nice and cold and the air stays on all night and while away during the day too! The only thing I don’t like in the rooms is the lack of drawers. I like to unpack my bags and this hotel only has cupboards with shelves, which means I end up living out of the suitcase while I’m there. Not a big deal but definitely wish it was different. Our favorite thing at this hotel is even though it’s not quite walking distance to Disney, it is very close walk to a lot of restaurants, target, and Joe’s Italian ice. We like to go to Red Robin for at least one of our dinners when we are in town to save money, and it’s nice not having to spend more money on Ubers to get there. Love this property, have stayed at least 4 times and will be back many more to come!
Will be returning!

This is the cleanest hotel we have stayed in when we come to Disneyland. Every interaction we had with their staff was pleasant. They are happy to help and dont seem annoyed when we ask for something extra we need. Khalid was a great host every morning we would come down to have our breakfast and the rest of the food staff. The breakfast was good, that is the only meal we had there. Speaking with Wilson the hotel manager i was able to tell why his staff is happy to be there, nice man. We will continue to return anytime we need a hotel for Disneyland.
Not great service

We stayed here for four nights in February while visiting Disney and have stayed in the Garden Grove area several times before. On the positive side, the hotel is fairly conveniently located, parking was easy, and our room appeared clean. That said, both the room and the common areas felt a bit worn down. For example, our white toilet had a random pink flusher handle that didn’t match anything—it honestly looked like mismatched parts pulled together from a local garage sale. The biggest issues we experienced were service-related. Before checking in, I messaged through the app around 2 PM requesting two extra blankets so they would be in the room when we arrived around 7 PM. They responded that the blankets would be delivered right away—but they never showed up as they were no where to be found when we checked in. After getting to the room, we called again and were told they’d be sent up immediately. Still nothing half an hour later. I tried calling housekeeping with no answer, then called the front desk. The front desk supervisor (who was very nice) ended up bringing them up herself. Either way, it shouldn’t take three requests over six hours to receive two blankets. Another downside was breakfast pricing. Breakfast is $20 per person, or $15 with a coupon. At $60 per day for a family of four just for eggs and waffles, it felt overpriced, so we chose to eat elsewhere. Finally, and most frustrating for me as a marathon runner, was the fitness center. I specifically chose this hotel because the gym is advertised as being open 24 hours. On the first morning, all four treadmills were in use and six people were working out on the floor—so it was busy. And extremely hot. I checked the thermostat and found it set to 72 degrees?! With multiple treadmills running and a full room, the temperature had climbed well over 80 degrees. I tried to adjust the thermostat, which wouldn't go below 70, which is still far too warm for a gym. My gym at home sets the studio to 63 degrees. The runner next to it even commented on how hot it was. We ended up propping the door open with weights just to get some airflow in the room, which shouldn’t be necessary. I reported the issue to the front desk and was told it would be fixed. When I returned the next day, do you think anything was actually fixed? Nope. I reported it again and asked for a manager to confirm once it was actually addressed. I was told he would call me back that morning. By 2 PM, I still hadn’t heard anything, so I followed up yet AGAIN. When he finally called, instead of doing what I asked - which was to call me and confirm that this had been fixed - he instead asked me to call him back—meaning I had to take time out of our Disney trip to chase down a problem that shouldn’t have existed in the first place. He explained that the thermostat is on a timer and that the room isn’t cooled until around 9 AM??!. If the gym is open 24 hours, it should be usable and comfortable the entire time—especially since many people work out early in the morning. Turning on ventilation at 9 AM makes no sense. He said it would be addressed. Also, if you have identified that as the problem - fix it! There are no windows in the room that open either or I would have propped them open to get some fresh air in. Day three? Same issue. No air again. After the manager had told me that it would be fixed. At that point, I let them know I’d be escalating the issue to corporate. I stay with Hilton frequently, and this level of follow-through was disappointing. Later that morning, after I had sent yet another message to them - a maintenance worker finally came in while I was finishing my workout. He checked the thermostat and mentioned the batteries were dead and needed replacing. Huh. Seems like that is something that could have been resolved days earlier? It shouldn't take three full days to fix anything that simple. I ended up driving to Orangetheory on Day 4 so I could workout somewhere comfortable, which shouldn't have been necessary. Overall, the location is convenient, but the condition of the property and repeated service failures made this stay frustrating.
