Pleasant Stay at AoA

obiwantravelnobi (Rehovot, Israel) on Dec 11, 2025

We stayed as a family of four (kids ages 5 and 3) for four nights, and the hotel’s location and theming really made the trip special. Being connected to the Disney Skyliner via the Pop Century station was a huge win and made transportation smooth and fun for the kids. ? The Good Excellent queen bed – surprisingly comfortable after long park days. Fantastic room size – plenty of space for a family with young children. Great bunk bed setup – the kids absolutely loved it and slept well. Animation Hall store & cast members – warm, helpful, and added to the magic. Theming – the Cars area, especially Building 1, is beautifully done and immersive. ? The Bad Both showers were in very poor condition and clearly need renovation. Food court was chaotic – messy tables, long waits, and visibly overworked staff struggling to keep up. Extremely expensive – we paid over $4,000, which feels high given the issues above

Good for cost

Very fun hotel with lots of rooms. The pools especially the one with the bar were huge plus. Would be nice if some other buildings closer to big pool had regular rooms and not suites. Food was decent with lots of choices.

Art of Animation - nice rooms

laura m (Baltimore, Maryland) on Nov 13, 2025

The family suite at Cars was perfect for 6 of us. The pools were great. Convenient to all transportation to parks. Food area was good. They housekeeping could have been better. They came super late one day when we were already back from the parks. I swapped towels with the cast member. They called me later to reschedule for the next day, I told them yes please. Never showed until 2 days later. No Disney magic, like I've seen at other resorts. There were stuffed animals and they didn't do anything fun with them for the 8 year old we had with us. Definitely disappointed.

Horrible experience with an ADA requested room reservation

Coastal797789 on Nov 09, 2025

Horrible experience, with rude cast members, regarding ADA accomodations. My mother requires a handicap shower with no step (basically the wheel-in kind, although she's not in a wheelchair). We were coming from a Disney Cruise, and booked a Cars suite, and indicated this was a need on the reservation. I had called ahead of our arrival as well to make sure things were set. We got into the suite and there were standard bathtubs with a grab bar, but not a flat entry shower in either bathroom. We called, and later returned to, the front desk which started what would become a nearly 5 hour unnecessarily stressful endeavor. The cast members, up to the manager level, could not tell us which rooms actually had the appropriate kind of shower. We were accused (as another review also states) of booking the wrong kind of room, threatened to have our reservation cancelled, and also told we would need to change hotels because they were at 100% capacity. They also waffled back and forth on if the kind of shower we requested even existed, and sent multiple people over to various rooms and would Facetime us to see if the shower was right. It was baffling that people working in a hotel didn't know their own inventory, and didn't know what kind of shower we were talking about, even though we could show them the photos on their own website. We eventually got moved into a Nemo suite which had the kind of shower my mom needed. Sadly, our son's favorite movie had been Cars, and really the only reason our large party had booked at AoA was because of the Cars Suite. The Nemo suite was dingy, uninspired, and we all agreed: the theming came across like the waiting room for a pediatrician instead of something that was themed as a Disney film. The pull down murphy bed was uncomfortable, the couch was dirty, and the room is just a lot of laminate and hard spaces. There was nothing comforting, welcoming, or enchanting about it. Also: It took hours for them to figure things out, and our plan had been to drop our bags and go to Animal Kingdom. Needless to say we didn't get there until about 3 hours until closing. The other family members we were traveling with did get a Cars suite (they didn't need the shower), and that suite was much more welcoming. The only Pro I have for the place: they did manage to meet our Celiac's dietary needs and the kitchen there made food for her that was better than what we'd found on the cruise. And they did give us a few passes for rides to try and make up for the missed time in Animal Kingdom. But I would never ever return to Art of Animation. As I've also seen others report: the problems that day were so severe that it really ruined the magic. And since we only had 2 nights and plans to hit 2 parks, it was really rough.

one of my least favorite hotels in my life

jackson c (Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina) on Oct 09, 2025

one of my least favorite hotels in my life you're probably think I'm doing for saying that but here's why my family went here a couple years ago and said that there was bed bugs I tested it to see if they were joking so I spent a few days here and yes the room was tested for bed bugs no wonder why my whole family and now me has a bunch of bumps on her legs but then I wanted to see if it was of just a car since I went to an intersection and every other room was okay do not go to the car section for might be bed bugs
