Great holiday again, it was our second visit this year February and May. All staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back.
EXPENSE WORTH IT FOR EFFICIENT TRANSPORT BUT BEWARE KITCHENETTE

Question of expense aside (it is expensive), the resort is a very pleasant place to stay even if you weren't interested in Disney World. The pools are very well presented and the building decors are very impressive, particularly the Nemo side of the resort. The food hall is modeled like a cafeteria, where there are several separate stalls you can order from (all differently themed) and a central payment point. The food is a grade higher than fast food but well under restaurant standard despite its relative expense. Rooms at the extreme ends of the resort (eg, Cars buildings) are a good 10min stroll from the central facilities (like the food hall). Based on our experience, don't pay the extra expense of this accommodation just for early entry to Disney World, which can be of no use as only a very small fraction of the rides are actually running early. The extra expense of this resort can be justified however by the ease of travel to most of the kingdoms in Disney World. Bus trip to Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom is about 25mins and they are frequent and direct (no other stops on the way like some other resorts). The Skyline provides efficient transport to other places (Hollywood Studios and EPCOT). One criticism we can make concerns rooms with a kitchenette, like in the Cars buildings. While they provide sink, microwave and small fridge, there is no cutlery nor crockery provided. What good is a kitchenette without those things (let alone basic food preparation tools like cutting board, cutting knife, can opener etc). We complained and were given disposable paper plates and bowls, but nothing else.
No Disney songs ,lost atmosphere

The actual mermaid building was needing TLC. No Disney music was playing around the pools or resort. Instead of background Disney songs, we had The Beatles and other dreadful children's songs playing loudly. This was not the usual relaxing time we have during our stay at AOA.We definitely would not return it doesn't have the same atmosphere. It still has great themes for first timers.
Great for Kids and Families

Stayed here with my 79 year-old mom while visiting family. Our standard room had two queen beds which were very comfortable. Bathroom was on the small side and the curtain divider was annoying. This is an old motel that has been renovated and updated. I understand there are newer buildings on the property (we did not have one of those). Staff were very helpful and friendly. Upon entering our room we were dismayed to find one bed when we had specified two beds. One phone call and under 10 minutes later we were in a room with two beds. Customer service gets a 10/10.
Staff was great. Rooms small but fine.

Staff was great. Friendly. The rooms were cute. We stayed in building seven in Little Mermaid room. The property was always clean. The restaurant was fast service but prices were good. Pool was heated. Lots of people in there. Not warm enough for me though. Took a long time to get checked in. Would we return? Definitely.
