Incredible Hotel ??

Incredible hotel!! The water park was very fun. I assure you, we will be back. The rooms were clean, fresh and very comfortable. The also looked as if they were brand new- new.

Very disappointing- would not recommend

I would rate our stay at Hotel Coco Key Resort around 1-2 stars out of 5. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing from the moment we arrived. We arrived at approximately 10:30pm after over 16 hours of travelling, only to find that our rooms were still not ready. One of the rooms still needed cleaning, despite check-out being at 11am earlier that day. After such a long journey, having to wait late into the evening to check in was extremely frustrating. Once we finally got into the rooms, we discovered several issues straight away. The lights did not work properly, with no main light in the room. There was also no wardrobe at all, only three very small drawers for clothes, which was completely inadequate for a stay of over two weeks and made unpacking very difficult. The room also did not appear clean, with old wipes and food packets left on the floor from previous guests. The floors were so dirty that our feet became dirty walking around barefoot. Another disappointment was the lack of communication and customer service. We did not receive a welcome pack upon arrival, unlike many other guests around the hotel. We later discovered this apparently included bus tickets for transport around the area, something we were never informed about. We were also supposed to receive 20% off food and drinks during our stay as guests staying for over two weeks, but we never received this benefit either. When we raised this issue at check-out after spending money throughout our stay, we were simply told we were “mistaken” because we checked in during peak season. We were not even looking for compensation at that point, but a simple apology and better customer service would have been appreciated. The pool was also disappointing, as it often appeared murky and had hair floating in the water, which did not feel very hygienic. The only positive aspect of this hotel is the location, as it is close to shops, restaurants, and Universal Studios. However, based on our overall experience, we would not choose to stay here again.

Better stay before the renovations

I had stayed at Coco Key previously about 2 1/2 years ago. And I must say the staff is very welcoming and kind. The rooms were clean however I did not like the recent upgrades. There was new lighting in the rooms that made the rooms look very sterile. The lighting was too severe, almost like bright doctors office room lighting. It did not have a nice bright glow but a harsh glow. I would change the lighting and use different lightbulbs. Also, the white walls coupled with the white bedspreads and white tile floors did not make the room seem very inviting. As a suggestion, I might change the bedding to colorful bedding, so that the rooms would have a little bit of color in them. Also, although our family room was booked Monday through Friday, on the Tuesday, we were there housekeeping, made an error and cleaned our room, as if it was a checkout instead of just a clean. When we returned from a long day out, everything had been removed from our refrigerator, and all the food we had in the room as well as my son’s backpack and clothing had been removed and took several days to locate. We are currently back home and awaiting for those items, which have now thankfully been located, to be mailed to us.
