Soooo disappointed

Kski0626 (Fort Worth, Texas) on Jul 09, 2026

The Polynesian was my dream resort stay. I was able to snag a lat minute Passholder reservation for 40% off a room. What a disappointment. First of all, we pulled up front and could not find anyone at bell services to assist. It was a chaotic nightmare out front. Much different experience from the Riviera, where the service is top notch! We were put in a handicap accessible room because it was all that was available. I love the space it gave us. Although, the shower feels really small. The room had a nice balcony where we could see the MK fireworks. The air conditioner in our room worked great. Captain Cooks has good food, but it’s so small in there. The drink stations are meh. Seems like a deluxe should upgrade to the freestyle machines. Sink was broke so you couldn’t rinse cups out. The worst part of this hotel is that’s it’s old and dirty. As much as you pay for the rooms, the carpet should not be ripped and walls should not be scratched up. Elevators are gross. There was this trash in the corner of the elevator the entire week we were here. It’s not maintained well at all. And it has a distinct unpleasant smell. The coffee bar was nice until my husband ordered a decaf coffee and opened it up to add cream and there was what looked like a worm floating in it. Disgusting. The monorail was 10/10. Loved the monorail service. I would not stay here again. If you are going deluxe, Riviera is soooo much nicer. And if you want a great stay at a great price, The Pop is nicer than this place!

The BEST way to use your Disney Dining Plan. The BEST food!

EZTravelbyAshley on Jun 24, 2026

We enjoyed dinner at Ohana here. The meal is served “Family Style”, with shared dishes of a pre fix menu. They are very accommodating, however, and will prepare foods special ways if needed due to food allergies, etc… You can view Magic Kingdom’s Castle from here at night. The food is DELISH! And this is only 1 credit /person on the Disney Dining Plan!!!!! Best way to use your credits! Food is Polynesian/Hawaiian style and includes bread, the most delish noodles, chicken, shrimp and more! Plus dessert!!! Just go and thank me later!

Better luxury hotel options on Disney property for the price

673sheric (Charleston, South Carolina) on Jun 05, 2026

First time visit to the Poly, but over 20 times staying on Disney property. I absolutely loved the hotel room, but the construction mess, dirty carpeting in the hallways, and inoperative monorail made our stay less than stellar. I may have expected too much but I feel that it had to out perform The Boardwalk, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge and The Yacht Club for the premium price, and it did not.

Very Disappointing for a Luxury Hotel

Joanne T on May 27, 2026

This was by far the most disappointing hotel experience at a Walt Disney Resort. What was advertised as a “water view” turned out to be little more than a view of a dock facing another building. The rooms feel outdated, dark, and in need of renovation. Even the shower had extremely poor water pressure, which only added to the frustration. For the premium price you pay to stay here, the experience simply does not match the cost. The dining options were also disappointing, with heavily Polynesian-inspired sweet foods and very limited traditional American choices. For anyone watching sugar intake, it can feel like a diabetic nightmare. There was also no room service available, which was surprising for a deluxe resort. Overall, this resort did not feel impressive or luxurious in any way. Very disappointed with the experience and would not recommend it.
