We had such an amazing time! Hotel is very clean and the staff are super friendly. Shows everyday were very entertaining. Lots of food options also. Diodes Soriano (Mr. Mesquito) is amazing! Hotel is very lucky to have him. Made us smile and laugh everyday! Thank you ??

We went to Marien Puerto plata in April 2026. I dont even know where to start... Pluses: transfer from airport seamless and fast check in no waiting no reservations needed for restaurants buffet- for 10 days we were there - we didn't really wait for any kind of food and if we did it was short waiting time beautiful view on the mountain from the resort no issues with water pressure , temperature, drinking water in bottles , toilet paper and soap. the cleaning ladies also brought towels for everyone without us asking Minuses: resort is very very and very old ... it needs major renos as everything is malfunctioning or about to break down amount of garbage around the resort when walking along the beach- its the main reason why I am writing this. The feeling as if you are at the junk site/ yard . We took a walk with our kids along the shore and in about 5 minutes counted 53 tires ... its depressing ... there is everything there :plastic bottles, glasses, bottles , shoes, tires, small kitchen appliances even, broken glass , straws, plastic bags , clothes ... I can going on and on. Then due to the weather ... a lot of that goes into the water and you are swimming in that. Food - just not fresh, not tasty, no good kids food . same over and over again . No entertainment for kids , its very small and quiet which is good and bad at the same time as kids are getting bored very fast.

Would highly recommend this resort for. Couples who want a quieter experience. We were amazed on how clean this resort is.. the staff do an incredible job there, everything is spotless. The food selection was great and exceeded our expectations . The beach is ok.. certainly not like the beaches in Cuba. The only complaint would be the quality and comfort of the bed, can't speak for the entire resort but we were in a VIP room and the bed was very hard and we did not sleep great. If the beds were upgraded it would be easy to rate this a quality budget friendly 5 star. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

My vacation at the Marien was a wonderful 10 days. Especially the guys at the activities center. BomBom ,Junior, and Manny. Looking forward to our next visit.
