This is the second time my family and I have travelled to Senator resort. Once again it was a great place to stay. A special mention to Skinny, Monkey and Johnny Bravo from the entertainment team for making the trip more fun. They are all kind, friendly, very funny and gave our family many great memories. Thank you to them! We look forward to returning!

I hate reviews. I never write them and I usually don't take what people write serious. With that said there's a lot to unfold about this resort. Without going too into depth I will list the pros - *Grounds - Stunning *Gardeners/Staff maintaining exterior of resort - Wonderful *Housekeeping staff - Wonderful *Front Desk Staff- Perfect *Food - although not great I would say better than a lot of resorts I've stayed at in the Dominican - 8/10 *Pool - small imperfections here and there otherwise - Great *A la Carte - only get 2 which sucks however - Japanese and Steak house - Fantastic (I was able to get added to the Italian with some friends I met - I would have been okay not eating at that one. Not bad just not as good as the other 2) *Drinks - Great - no menus - so here is a list of the ones I tried by asking around what others were drinking lol -Espresso martini - only at legends -Dominican flag - can get every but best at legends -Banana Mama -Passion fruit mojito -Malibu and Orange -Coco Cabana - only at legends -chocolate monkey *Daytime entertainment by the pool - they are great - I didn't speak to "skinny" personally but he brings a ton of energy *Beach party on Sunday - 10/10 *Beach - is okay but its still a beach! *watching cruise ships at port and the walking trail 10/10 - don't let the reviews scare yo about the cruise ship people coming onto the resort barely noticed them, maybe they get buffet from 12-1pm I think Now here is where the Resort falls short - **my thoughts on the room are probably a bit dramatic to some but are very specific to me but I want to share my personal experience in case other people have similar expectations** *Rooms - we paid to stay in the newly renovated room - Room 211 -the pillows smelt so, so bad - like a shirt that was forgotten in the washer but was originally washed with sweat water - they were awful lol I can laugh about it now but the smell will be hard to forget about - I was able to wrap mine in an Air Transat blanket to mask the smell -the separate "toilet only" section smelt like poo all the time we kept the door shut but some days were really bad -shower clogs - usually I wouldn't complain about something so dumb but I don't know what the people before me did in the shower so bring a "shower shoe" if stuff like that bugs you - kinda gross but not a big deal if you don't mind the small things *Nightly entertainment is lacking HUGE -magic show is good if you are okay with animal crulety ( I know, I know different culture, they use what's available blah blah blah) but my heart goes out to the birds and goat used in that show -the rest of the nights were dance shows - one show displayed Dominican culture - loved that but aside from that they were basically a backyard party with the occasional Congo line The absolute biggest issue with this resort is their Friday-Sunday guests. Dominican locals arrive. NO I am not racist NO I am not unaware its their country YES I get we have cultural differences YES I get they paid to be there too There was a clear and obvious shift in the resort - id never go back but if I had to I would suggest a 5 day trip. land Monday leave Friday. -Pool was no longer a fun place in the fact that you could barely move, the swim up bar.... forget about it, where they sit is where they stay and stand elbow to elbow and they make no effort to let anyone in, kids jumping over you/on you/smacking you in the face with the balloons handed out at the foam party, oh and forget about getting within 5 feet of the foam party. -Buffet - NOPE. Lines. No one takes reasonable amounts of food for 1 plate. A spot to sit within the first 90 mins of it opening, forget it. Forget about getting a piece of pizza or ice cream on these days unless you plan on waiting in a line up longer than one at Canadas Wonderland. -There's about 27 different portable speakers on at any given time, in any space, on full volume and that includes in the buffet. -The employees show clear favouritism, or maybe they don't want to deal with the attitude I don't know but you're no longer a valuable guest of the hotel which is odd because we are the only ones who show the workers actual respect (please, thank you, smiling at them, waiting our turn, not yelling at them) and the only ones who ever tip and have been the ones tipping for days before... -The front lobby becomes a massive bedroom so don't try and sit down and enjoy time up there... 1 kid sleeping on a whole couch, bodies on the floor sleeping everywhere Honestly I could go on and on. I know it's not the Maldives and you get what you pay for but I expect a tiny bit more.

The Senator Resort is a place to vacation. Great friendly staff throughout. Access to the pool, beach, restaurants great. Food was delicious. You have many places to chose to eat. Entertainment was great. Lots to do without even leaving the resort. Tropical Ave is super, all inclusive coffee shop, pizza, ice cream shop. Lots of stores to purchase from. Dr with a clinic. Drug store. The la carts are ready delicious. You can go to player Bachata next door and use everything there. Relax and enjoy the pool. I will be returning very soon. Room are close to everything and very nice.

Skinny made this trip a 10/10 experience. we made memories that will last a lifetime. He is truly the best.
