Wonderful!

Kierra B on Jan 11, 2025

Had a wonderful experience at this resort with my husband. It is not adult only but has an adult only area called the Sonne Club that we absolutely loved and went every day! Huge shout out to Rafael and Nacho who provided absolutely amazing service at the poolside in the Sonne Club! The food and drinks up there was amazing! I would go back just to go back to the Sonne club. Had a photo to post but won’t load unfortunately. But it is beautiful and cleanly here !

We’ll be back again!!!

Karla H (Missoula, Montana) on Jan 11, 2025

This was our second visit here. We came back for the great Service/staff and wonderful accommodations. Once again we had an amazing time! Andrea was the best activities director and her enthusiasm was perfect to keep it upbeat. Can’t say enough positive too ha about her. Ernesto did a great job of keeping the activities going. The bartenders Antonia(Montana) and Leo were the best! Their smiles and friendliness and kept us happy and our cups full of delicious drinks. Pool side we loved Pedro, Jessica and Alexis among many others took very good care of us. I would recommend this place over and over to anyone. Thanks for another wonderful trip and we’ll be back next year. Pinky promise!! ??

Fantastic views and service!

Faye E (La Crosse) on Jan 09, 2025

We stayed in the governor suite and the room was lovely. Fantastic views and the perks that came with the room were very nice. The spa was wonderful—very relaxing, nice plung pool, and the steam room with eucalyptus was heavenly. Josephina gave a much appreciated deep tissue massage, and she was very skilled. The food as Firsra Americana is about a level 3-4 depending on where you eat, but there is lots of variety and works well for families with kids! What makes Fiesta Americana a 5-star review for me is the people who work here. Gume, Omar, Emmanuel, Marco, and Darci were nothing short of amazing every morning at breakfast. Just incredible. And Rafe and Nacho upstairs at the Sonne pool, well, they are the reason we come back each year. We stay here and eat breakfast and lunch each day and then go out to explore the town most evenings to get more action and food variety.

A pretty good stay in PV!

WilliamO1643 (Rohnert Park, California) on Jan 07, 2025

This is my first review on Trip Advisor, but I guarantee you I’ve been many places and have a lot to say. I am a foodie, adventurer, planner, and a parent of a child with special needs. My family takes a special vacation every year right after New Years. This year we chose to go to Puerto Vallarta. There were many good options to choose from, but one stood out mainly because of the excellent reviews on Service. The Fiesta Americana. This is a really beautiful resort that has one of my favorite lobbies ever. The breeze flows through the open air lobby and invites you in every time you enter. I felt welcomed by their greeter, Lindsay, who always said hello when she saw us and asked how our stay was going. The food was extremely hit or miss at this resort. The best food experience I had was at the Mexican Fiesta, which happens on Fridays. While it was frustrating how they handled a buffet line (it felt very confusing) the food was excellent. The tacos were really fantiastic, but the churros were the best I’ve ever had. Tiantang is the Asian restaurant. I recommend the Seafood udon noodles and the spicy Korean beef. The sushi was good, but the rice was really dry for some reason. Rosato is the Italian restaurant. The focaccia they serve was delicious. I also recommend the lasagna. Order like four lasagna’s though. They’re small portions. El Mexicano was disappointing. The food was almost all pretty average. The only thing I really like was their baked Oaxacan cheese. The buffet was great in the mornings and pretty decent in the afternoons too. I was disappointed that the Ceviche restaurant was closed down for construction, but they had ceviche at the afternoon buffet and it was very good! My daughter, who is autistic, loved the pool and the beach. We spent a lot of time in the pool. We spent some time at the beach, but the rocks made me very nervous. The waves also had a tendency to be a little too rough so we had to walk a ways to find better spots to swim. The Kids Club was a little challenging as I was really hoping it would be a good place for my daughter. Unfortunately, they had a lot of trouble accommodating her. They only had one person staffed there and while that was fine for any neurotypical children, it was too much for the girl working to handle it. On the last day, Jennifer was able to handle my daughter because there was only two other kids there which worked great give us time to pack up our room, but that was the only time we were really able to have her there for an hour or so. I had a great massage at the spa. Patricia gives a wonderful massage! Finally, a few random issues I had with the hotel. Mainly, the TV’s in the hotel room. They are smart TV’s so they should have access to all the apps they have downloaded on them. The apps didn’t work. They told me they could fix it but they weren’t able to. My daughter really wanted to watch her programming on Disney or Netflix but she couldn’t. So weird. Also, there was construction going on all day every day both around our floor and outside by the pool. It was not the best time to visit this resort, I suppose. Excellent service throughout our stay from people such as Danae, Jose, Alfredo, Yvette, Patricia, and Jennifer. They were all so helpful with various aspects of our stay. The room we stayed in was a Family room on the 1st floor. These rooms were very nice, but I don’t know if they’re worth the extra money. Our house keeper was very sweet and did an excellent job keeping our room clean although I can’t remember her name. Thanks for reading my first review! We loved Puerto Vallarta! Definitely going to come back here!

Select your hotel carefully!

Sherpa820090 (Calgary, Canada) on Jan 07, 2025

The service is generally good, but we hated that they limit we're you can sit. For example, at the main breakfast restaurant, you can not sit outside!!! Interior seating only. It is reserved for club members!! The time I asked, it was half empty .. Wow. This is part of the reason we go to mexico in winter to sit outside and enjoy the weather and view. Also, the itialian restaurant elevated pool seating is reserved for club members only. This makes your guests feel like second class and takes away from the experience. Very disappointing. Having paid a premium to travel over the New Year and holiday season, the hotel was asking an additional $254US for their New Year celebration?? On top of what already paid. We were not impressed. Food at the three restaurants was average. The location is considerably smaller than the Cabo San Luca location ( we stayed a few years ago) and older. We did enjoy several staff and guest events, margarita making, paella was fun and tasty! We will not be returning to this location and will be reconsidering staying at any other Fiesta Americana locations.
