First let me say that the staff worked extremely hard during the 2 days of unrest working short staffed making sure every guest was taken care of. the hotel is in need of a refresh but is kept very clean.The beach has soft sand leading to warm waters and free of seaweed . The food is uneven sometimes excellent sometimes lacking flavor but you won't go hungry. the grounds are kept in top shape and the pools are well looked. after The pool staff try to entertain you with activities all day you can join in or watch.The entertainment at night is lacking for a 5 star resort but you can always find ways to entertain yourself. the best part of the resort is the staff they all work very hard to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Is this a 5 star resort no but would come back yes

We must love Occidental in Puerto Vallarta because this was our 9th visit over the last twelve years. Keep coming back. It's the only all inclusive that is small enough and yet have all the services and staff to make it more personal. I strongly recommend the Royal level of accommodations. We have been all over the world and keep coming back!

The food was great, the massage from Leidi was so relaxing! The bartenders Eddie, Ricky, Jesus were great! Danny and Ricardo were great at water aerobics. The staff was so accommodating and when external factors were happening the staff still put the tourists first. The only negative was our screen door broke and they fixed it right away but unfortunately it broke again. I also wish they had a disco or a little more nightlife.

My wife and I spent a week at this resort and had the best time. The staff was fabulous and we met so many great guests. The staff went above and beyond during the situation that occurred in Puerto Vallarta on February 22. Not once did we feel unsafe. We will be back!!

Beautiful resort. Staff very friendly. Frances at Reception very helpful. All of the daytime entertainment staff were very friendly and fun!
