Went with friends and our high school graduates. The location was great, everyone had a good time. The only downside was the food, it lacked flavor.

My husband and I are here now celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary. My husband booked a royal level junior suite room with balcony and had it decorated with roses, balloons, Chocolate covered strawberries and champagne, which he paid extra for. I was so surprised when I walked in. But I noticed the room was so hot and the A/C wasn’t on when we got to our room. Husband tried to mess with the thermostat but the A/C still wasn’t working. Husband called front desk and they said they would have someone come up. Went to Ls Mariachi to grab a quick bite and when we returned it was still hot in our room. Husband called again to Inquire and was told they would someone. We had reservations at 7pm so while getting ready, someone finally came. He played with thermostat, check vents and no air was coming out. He messed with some wires in the sliding door leading to the balcony and said to wait 5 minutes. We had to leave for our dinner reservations. We finally returned around 11:15pm and the room was still hot and A/C not working. Husband called once again and had someone come up and he tired to see what was wrong but couldn’t and told my husband it’s not working and would go tell the front desk and they will call us in our room. We received a call and were told that they could give us a basic room for the night and would fix our A/C tomorrow. A woman came to our door to walk us to the new room for the night on the 6th floor. My husband asked her a question after opening the door to the room but she said she didn’t speak English and left. We are here now in the room we didn’t pay for and not enjoying the extras my husband had paid for and planned because the A/C doesn’t work. What a way to spend our anniversary. Let’s hope our A/C gets fixed tomorrow.

I rated this a three because it was average nothing great nothing totally bad. Positive is the hotel itself is clean. They have shows every night which I think every all inclusive has. The restaurants that need reservations are fine. Two bartenders in the lobby during the day are very friendly. Negatives the Asian restaurant “Tokyo” some of the gentlemen were rude. One was short with glasses just ignores you. He makes side eyes, so you know he heard you. This I experienced and others from my party not at our reservation called out the same gentleman. Im hoping to get his name before I leave. The services isn’t consistent. There are some workers friendly and providing good customer service and others that are just rude. Another negative for me maybe not others is there isn’t a place you can grab a quick snack while being wet. There isn’t any food service around the pool area. Everything you have to go and sit down and if you try and take something you can’t take the dishes. Nor do they have plastic ones you can take. I also like to come back to a clean room. But few days our room was still not cleaned until after 3. I won’t stay here again.

The resort is incredibly clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We love the resort and visit it atleast once a year though usually twice. The food is wonderful and the activities are fun, the only issue is the resorts AC system it seems out dated or over burdened. Our initial rooms AC did not function and when they moved us to a new room 571 the AC was very loud and cooled very slowly. Over all its a relatively small issue but visiting in the summer it could definitely lead to trouble. Still we love the resort and hope the AC situation is fixed by our next visit.

We had a fantastic stay at Occidental! The staff was wonderful, especially the Premium team, Antonio, Marisol, and Irene. Our room was stunning and so comfortable! The location of the resort was great, very clean. We felt very safe the whole time. It was easy to get around the city for our excursions and back to the resort. The drive to the main part of the city was maybe 15 minutes with traffic. Overall super relaxed and quiet but also had lots of fun pool activities you could take part it!
