My stay at the Barcelo has been terrible, some staff members have been extremely rude to me and my family. The comportment of the staff at almost every place in the hotel my family and I have had to encounter some level of poor service seems a big number if staff dont feel like working here. The check in took an hour to complete with some of my family in the group not having a room ready after waiting 1 hour to be seen. A lady at guest services at the main lobby was extremely rude to my wife giving her the worst attitude possible and would not help her. Some of The staff members at the buffet lack the ability to even say good morning when you sit to eat at the buffet often having to chase someone for utensils and/or water. It is quite embarrassing as a dominican to have to see and experience this behavior towards my group thats not from this country and to have to justify that we Dominicans aren’t like this. The staff needs to do better, management needs to do better, your people need better training on how to treat people. I wish i could say something good about my stay but having this experience has deeply disappointed me. I will not be back to this hotel and do not recommend it either. Thank you for your time.

I went to the resort with a girl friend. We had a great room - it was two story and we had separate bathrooms and plenty of privacy. Our room was about a 10 minute walk to the pool/ocean area. The food was okay, my favorite meal was at the Spanish Restaurant Las Fuente. Make your specialty dinner reservations for your entire stay after checking in. There were lots of families, as it was the week before Thanksgiving. The average age of the adults was mid 40's. The ocean was beautiful and the seas were calm.

Second time coming to Barceló! First time at the adult site excellent ! Second time family was the worst from check in to the room! Power went out no water for an hour ! Bugs at the buffet! Customer service was terrible!

If you are looking for cleanliness, this is not for you. My room hasn’t been mopped for weeks. Hair and dust all over the table. Jacuzzi also dirty. Stay away from room 4305. TV/Phone don’t work. Fan stuck in 1. Unable to change speed or turn it off. I had very low expectations before arriving due to other reviews. Sewage smell on the shower. My niece called front desk to complain on my behalf but no one showed up. Restaurants are hit and miss. Spanish one was the best. Bring latex gloves to flip switches lol. Staff at the Carey bar where all very good and friendly, they make awesome drinks.

It is an incredible resort. You have to go to experience it. They offer a lot of activities and there are good restaurants included in the fare.
