Better than most. For cheap family vacation, it’s hard to beat. Beautiful water but don’t expect to see much snorkeling off beach, too murky. Food was just okay. Make reservations for restaurants. Only do buffet if you HAVE to. Overall I would recommend, but I don’t think I will return

Not luxury — have low expectations. This resort has some genuine positives such as the beach and pool, but it does not deliver anything close to a luxury experience. We booked a "premium" sea-view suite with private balcony, but we were initially placed on the first floor with a pool view and no privacy-- poop guests were right outside our patio door. We were told multiple times that nothing could be done and to “try tomorrow,” but after insisting, they finally moved us to a room that matched the booking. Unfortunately, the replacement room had AC issues and never cooled properly. Overall, the property feels tired and worn. Many things simply don’t work well: air conditioners struggle, refrigerators barely cool, theres a lot of wear and tear on cabinets, chairs, doors and more. It’s not falling apart, but it clearly needs maintenance. Staff interactions were inconsistent. Anyone not directly receiving a tip often seemed annoyed or inconvenienced by basic requests. There was also noticeable preferential treatment toward Spanish speakers. One person in our party speaks Spanish, and when we initially tried to get a table at the buffet in English we were told none were available—only for a table to suddenly appear once Spanish was spoken. This occurrence happened more than once. At the bar, I was handed an already opened bottle of water, and when I asked for a sealed one, the response was dismissive and as I was an inconvenience. The food is subpar: mass-produced, dry, basic, and repetitive. It’s edible, but nothing memorable or well executed. On the positives, the grounds are well kept, the beach is nice, and the resort does offer solid amenities—multiple pools, a fitness center, performance pavilion, and activities. Bottom line: this may be acceptable as a cheap all-inclusive if expectations are low. But if you’re paying premium rates or expecting quality, service, or anything resembling luxury, you should look elsewhere.

We had a wonderful stay at Barceló Bávaro Palace. The resort is excellent, with multiple restaurants offering good food and plenty of variety. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The beach is beautiful and well maintained. Every night there are multiple entertainment programs in different areas, so there is always something to do. Overall, it was a great experience, and we truly enjoyed our two-week stay

Went with family of 12 during Thanksgiving week. The dreaded check in process went pretty well (it only took 45 minutes). The rooms were OK but the elevators were in constant state of repair. The bartenders were great as was the liquor selection. I would say the buffets and the specialty restaurants were average, but the servers were wonderful. We enjoyed the pools and beach. The nightly entertainment was terrible. I probably would not go back

Issues ~ Food temperature, understanding of naming the food( don't know what you are eating) you have to label the food and cheese! Bread seemed old! Goods ~ view, how close to the water you are and having the hot tub in the outside is awesome;
