Outdated facility, bad check-out experience

The jacuzzi never worked during the entire stay, asked the guest service for help from day one, they promised to arrange for someone to fix it, but never did, always promised the next day. One of the sinks got clogged and again was not never fixed before we checked out. We wiped off a lot of dust from the cabinet surface under the sinks where the towels were put on (basically the towels were put on dirty surface which they didn't seem to clean). The room key / wrist band was too loose for my daughter and it went off within the first day, so when we checked out I had to pay $50 for it. We had a family of 6 staying at the resort, while the others were tight enough and obviously there is no way for it to go off if it had been put on tight enough. When I was discussing with the clerk at check-out, another gentleman waiting in another line happened to mention that he found a green color wrist band (same color as my daughter's) in the swimming pool a couple of days before and he had given it to the security staff (name likely Rafael based on the pronunciation), so I went to the guest service and asked them to check if they can find it from Rafael, but they told me a moment later that Rafael didn't remember being given a wrist band, so I had to go back to the check-out clerk and finalize the payment because she insisted that I had to pay otherwise I couldn't leave the resort (she had a very bad attitude and showed no sympathy at all). This was a very bad experience, since the wrist band was put on by the front desk staff, and when it wasn't put on tight enough it should be the resort's responsibility, and it's unfair for guests to pay for the resort staff's mistake (if we were handed over the wrist bands and we put them on by ourselves, I would agree that it's our responsibility when they got lost). Now I even feel that the resort have a motivation to not put them on tight enough in order to collect the money, and following this logic the security staff also would rather not admit being given the wrist band. Anyway, this was a very bad experience and we had never run into this kind of issue at other hotels/resorts.
Perfect Family Resort

We absolutely live this resort! It’s clean, well maintained, has a great family room set up with two separate sleeping areas, tons of things for kids to do as well. The beach is well maintained and great for families as well as just adults. All the staff were very friendly and the food was surprisingly good when we stayed. We have been to this resort 6 times and are already looking at dates to book again next year! I recommend to any family visiting punta cana especially with smaller kids this place has everything! Mini golf, kids club, smaller waterpark for littles and a bigger one for the big kids, a little train to take you around the resort, so much more! We always have the best experience and the kids can’t wait to go back again
