Well-positioned resort with strong natural assets, but clear management and operational gaps. Strengths: Excellent beach (clean, no seaweed, no vendors), very good sailing program with above-average equipment, and high-quality nightly entertainment. BBQ night steaks stand out. Issues: Basic room deficiencies (poor shower design causing flooding, no exterior patio handle, minimal fridge, no gym), late-night hallway noise, and consistently mediocre food. Operational concerns: Only 2 of 3 Hobie Wave cats operational, paddles in need of repair, and minor maintenance issues left unaddressed. Guest experience concern: Overly aggressive lobby sales tactics (“free welcome packages”) create a negative first impression. Bottom line: Strong foundation, but inconsistent execution and sales pressure significantly detract from the overall experience. Management attention to fundamentals and guest experience is needed.

The Good: The Viva Resort Miches property itself is stunning and very well-kept. The pools are a highlight, and the entertainment team is absolutely incredible—some of the best shows we’ve seen. Most of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The Bad: Housekeeping was a bit of a letdown with several consistency issues during our stay. However, the reason for this 1-star review is the Viva Membership (Wyndham) pitch. The Ugly (The "Scam"): What started as a "quick" presentation turned into a high-pressure, multi-hour ordeal. We were verbally promised one thing, but once we got home and reviewed the paperwork, the reality was the opposite. Even worse, we discovered that pages were added to our contract after the fact, featuring our digital signatures on terms we were never actually shown. We are now out thousands of dollars more than what was originally discussed. It has turned a beautiful vacation into a financial nightmare. Final Verdict: Go for the resort, but do not, under any circumstances, attend the membership breakfast or pitch. The "Viva Club" is a deceptive program that uses high-pressure tactics and, in our experience, fraudulent contract additions. A beautiful resort is not worth the risk of being scammed out of your hard-earned money.
