Best in my life

“I had a wonderful experience during my business trip to Quebec, Canada. The city is incredibly clean and beautifully located on top of the hills—it truly exceeded my expectations. I had no idea it would be so amazing! If I ever get the chance to go back, I will definitely visit again.”
Manage expectations…

Room is really small for a Deluxe room, very little storage, does not correspond to the pictures on the website. No availability in the bar for their own hotel guests even when tables are empty. Completely packed with tourists which are visiting so you need to be aware of the busyness. I did not feel welcome as a guest.
Pretentious, overpriced and disappointing

We had stayed at the Frontenac twice before, and remembered it as a wonderful hotel. This most recent visit was different: we had reserved a junior suite, but upon check-in, the front desk offered us a "much nicer suite for a nominally higher price". When led to the "better suite", it turned out to be up in the attic, dark, with a weird space distribution, largely to accommodate the roofline. We declined and were eventually steered to another, nicer suite. Upon check-out, we were informed that the "nominally higher price for the upgrade" was three times the price of our initially reserved junior suite! Talk about deceiving practices! After check-in, we waited about 5 hours until our room was made ready. Our bathroom had a very large bathtub, and it was quite a challenge to get inside (or out), but that was the only shower in the room. The tub floor was slippery, and we had to ask for a mat to reduce the risk of falling. Beyond that, the Frontenac has changed. Service is mediocre at best: we had to be placed on a waiting list to enter the bar, even though half the tables were empty. When we were finally seated, we waited almost 25 minutes before anyone asked us whether we wanted a beverage! The front doorman is curt and rough, at best, rude, at worst. There is not a single cozy corner in the hotel, with groups of tourists invading every nook and cranny on "guided tours". There is not a gift shop for basic travel necessities, and the only place you can get a cup of coffee is at the Starbucks, technically out side the hotel. The Concierge was very helpful and our housekeeper was too. For the rest, re-training might be helpful.
Truly exceptional-the Gold Level worth every penny!

The Chateau is everything you've read, historic, gorgeous and perched so beautifully over the St Lawrence. It's all true, but what made it special for us was staying on the gold level floor. The included breakfast 7-11, the dinner Hors d Oeuvre's (5-7) were amazing. So much food, and it was all delicious. Then at eight, canapés, some of the most delicious I have ever tasted. The main parts of the hotel were often crowed. When there was a wait at Bar 1608 in the lobby, we simply headed up to the 14th for a drink without all the noise. The staff on the gold level was what made this trip special, especially Eric. I don't remember other names, but everyone we encountered was top notch. I've read a few people who didn't think gold level was worth it. For us, it's what made an extremely popular hotel feel like a sanctuary and totally worth it. I don't think we would have enjoyed our stay as much had we not had this escape. We don't splurge as a rule, but this was special and I highly recommend it!
Fantastic property and incredible service!

This was our third time at the Chateau Frontenac, and it might have been our best. This year, we timed it to be able to see the Christmas market, which was a lot of fun. We also did a couple of tours, a gin tasting and the chocolate demonstation- all complimentary as part of our stay. We ate at Sam's and did the Sunday brunch. Service was beyond incredible! We're already talking about coming back next year for our fourth visit! Highly recommended!
