Very Clean Affordable Hotel In Great Location

Paul R (Metro Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota) on Aug 22, 2026

The hotel property is in a great location in the area next to pier 39 at fishermen's wharf and is very clean standard hotel room. The breakfast is very well organized and is well prepared and well staffed. The staff at the hotel are all very professional and well informed about the area and what is available to see and do.

Great Stay

lienanhm (San Jose, California) on Aug 22, 2026

The Good: Steps from Fisherman wharf and about 7 mins walk to Pier 39. Breakfast buffet has more selections than other hotels nearby and included with price. Plenty of street parking, no need to use hotel's. Room is comfortable and clean. The Not So Good: Thin walls all around. We could hear people outside, walking upstairs, talking in next rooms and closing their doors at all hours of the night. Bathroom is tiny, I'm 5'1 and all but 100 lbs. You'd almost have to step into the bathtub to close the door if you wanted to use the toilet. Breakfast line is long, but move quickly. Take away: We might stay here again just for their Breakfast selections. However, if we want to get a good night sleep, Marriott is also a good alternative, walking distance (5mins) to China Town, Ghirardelli Square and everywhere else, with bigger rooms and bathrooms.

Perfect spot for our adventures. Close to the ball park. Closer to the boat tour location and trolley car station. The best part - an awesome breakfast to start each day. Fast seating, wonderful choices and very courteous staff! We will be back!! ??

Good breakfast, many people, challenged on noise transfer

G-Pita_DK (Herning, Denmark) on Aug 18, 2026

Breakfast was as promised, with fruit and many options - As a European I would have liked wholemeal sourdough options instead of the buttered and sugared American bread, but as I'm not in Europe this is definitely a good breakfast assortment. However, it was painful and impossible to enjoy as the amount of people and noise completely destroyed the possibility to sit an enjoy with the family. There was constantly a long cue outside - which impaired the lust to sit slowly and enjoy and the noise and the crowdedness was unbearably. So food excellent, surroundings awful. The hotel location is excellent with only 1 block down the waterfront and peer 39, and surprisingly the traffic was fine The room we had (2 queens) was acceptable - not spacious for 4 people, but acceptable with a fine little couch. The room was of older date, but maintained very well, likewise the bathroom, with the caveat that a bathtub shower was near impossible as it could only take 5" of water before the level touched the overflow. so not even your tights could be covered. That is a failure. Bathroom was small, but the essentials were there and it was clean and functional. The noise reduction thought the floor separations feels like a 1970 standard as one could hear all steps and if they laughed or talked above (and likewise to the next-door neighbour) Limited street noise but significant noise from inside. The fitness centre, gym was a bit of a joke. Considering the size of the hotel and the number of guests, it is equipped very limited with too many treadmill and cross-trainers taking the space - considering the running and walking opportunities just outside other equipment should be prioritized and the centre should be expanded) It was equally compact and overrun as the breakfast buffet and/or filled with kids blocking everything. They were supervised by an adult but there is no reason for 8 year-olds to occupy/ play on equipment. Make it 15 year+. The swimming pool needs more heating considering a SFO location. If a pool is too cold for swimming in beginning of August - it needs more heat. Very nice staff and the bar was also good, we did enjoy the outdoor flame tables - but it didn't invite for sharing the space so most of the couches were occupied by one, thereby limiting the potential use. All-in all a good experience, but the value for money is challenged by the number of people vs the space, and crowdedness

Great experience.

Stardancer6691 (Easton, Pennsylvania) on Aug 18, 2026

We are staying here now and this is definitely a great location. It is walkable to Fisherman’s Wharf, and the piers, so there are many boat tours, restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel itself has a great front desk staff, helpful and pleasant. The housekeeping staff does an excellent job and room and bath are very clean. Breakfast is spectacular, with both American and European choices available and breakfast is included in the rate. Everyone here is efficient and customer -oriented. I highly recommend this hotel and will return.
