We throughly enjoyed our stay last week. First thing, great location! So close to the front pier and big bus stop for the hop on/off (literally 1 min walk). We walked a few minutes to Trader Joes, a supermarket open til 9pm to stock up on water (very reasonably priced compared to other convenience stores). Hotel is a short walk to Ghiradelli Square too. All of the staff were friendly. We stayed on the 3rd floor. The service from our maid was brilliant, always cleaned and beds made. Towels changed and coffee/milk replenished. The room was spacious and beds were comfy. Fridge was excellent, super cold! The breakfast was superb, wonderful selection of both hot/cold. The line to breakfast looked long a couple of times but they were so organised and we were soon seated so don’t be put off by it. No problems with getting the lifts. The hotel bar and grab & go looked nice but we never used them so can’t comment on that. The hotel overall was always clean, including lobby toilets. Would highly recommend and definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at this hotel. It was in a fantastic location with many shops, restaurants and the Big Bus stop just around the corner as well as Pier 39 and Alcatraz being within walking distance. The room was well kitted out and the coffee machine and fridge were much appreciated as well as a decent hairdryer as this has been amiss in our rooms in other cities as a part of this trip. Breakfast was full of options and well organised with the staff being super friendly. This would have been a 5 star review but we felt the rooms weren’t that soundproof, to the point the room next door woke us up at 6am on our second morning as we could literally hear their alarm and subsequent full conversations. They were also quite loud in the lobby on a previous night quite late which woke us up as well. I would put it down to just loud people but the footsteps overhead and the outside noise of the road was also pretty loud. It wouldn’t put us off recommending this hotel but if you are a light sleeper like me it can be quite annoying! Loved San Francisco and wished we had spent a little less time in LA and a bit longer here and the location of this hotel added to that.

RIU was a very nice property in a great spot within short walking distance to the Fisherman’s Wharf area. Excellent breakfast buffet and friendly staff. Room was very clean, although air conditioning can be noisy and distracting while sleeping. Lobby bar is understaffed and bartenders need to be friendlier and better prepared.

Very friendly service from check in, to bellman and everyone in between. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have experienced. We loved our stay
