The Westin is a great choice when coming up to Whistler to ski. First off is right by the whistler Gondola which is amazing. The breakfast buffet is delicious.
My boyfriend and I were very lucky to run into the two amazing guest service managers there.
Don't book their studio suites
Feb 26, 2024
The studio suite is really not a suite at all. It is just a standard single hotel room, and it is very small. This is a ski resort. People have ski boots, poles, ski cloths, etc. We had two queen bed studio for two people. There was barely any room for anything.
Since the room is so small, ice and water are inevitably on the carpet/floor when you change. You end up stepping on them which is very annoying. Hotel should consider put in some disposable slippers.
There is a small Kitchenette in the door way, but there is no table in the room and no place to eat. The room also has the smallest shower I had ever seen in my entire life without any exaggeration. I absolutely do NOT recommend the studios.
The ski valet charged $11 per pair of skis per day. I don't know if this is a common practice now. I had not seen such charge in the past in other Whistler hotels. Since you are not allowed to keep the skis in the room, charging for keeping it for you seems odd. I was not made aware of the charge until I saw my bill. Hotel should be clear on such extra charges.
Lastly, if you are a platinum member or higher, they don't honor 4PM late check out. They will only give you an extra hour or two based on availability. You have to ask on the last day or the night before.
No Call Back from Manager - Disappointed in Hotel Noise
Feb 24, 2024
Our family of 5 went to Whistler for our first time this February for 4 days of skiing and 3 nights at the Westin. This is a hard review to write. The hotel itself is lovely, super convenient, and has every amenity you need: great restaurants, shops, rental equipment, ski valet, spa, pool, laundry on every floor. We cashed in all of our Bonvoy points for 1 room and paid for a connecting 1 bedroom suite.
Sleep didn't really happen in our room. Our bedroom was adjacent to the elevator shaft. We had 2 sound machines running on our phones, ear plugs, and pillows, but the movement of the elevators and dings all night were pretty bad. We knew the hotel was fully booked, so we didn't have options of asking for a new room.
I know this wasn't the front desk's fault, but I let them know how disruptive it is to be in that room upon checkout and maybe offer a discount to future guests. She was unnecessarily apologetic, but offered at a minimum to comp our parking, which I appreciated. When we got back home, I noticed we were charged for our parking, so I called the hotel. After a long hold, they took my information and said they would call me back as soon as possible to take care of it. That was 4 days ago at this point, and I never heard from the manager nor anyone at the desk, nor did I see the credit back for parking.
I do hope this in fact gets resolved as soon as possible, because like I said, the hotel itself was lovely, but staying in the rooms along the elevator are not acceptable for guests that hope to get any sleep. They need to sound proof those rooms.
Best Whistler Ski Resort
Feb 21, 2024
The Westin in Whistler is, in our opinion, the best located hotel in W/B for ski in/out as well as access to the village. Led by the Service Express Manager, the front office staff are as friendly and helpful as possible, bending over backwards to ensure your stay with them is the best it can be.
Some reviews state the hotel is tired or a bit worn and I can tell you - from someone who is on the road over 100 nights a year - the Westin Whistler is in excellent shape and well maintained, especially for a ski resort.
Prime position but needs work

Don’t stay in room 1011!!
Booked a 1 bedroom suite for 11 nights (not cheap) and was put in room 1011, a big room but unfortunately very little lighting, no windows in bedroom and directly under aircon motors so it’s sounds like you are in an aeroplane wind tunnel ALSO next to lifts so all night!! And I mean all night you can hear the ding-dong of the elevators even over the wind tunnel noise. We only lasted 1 night and then they moved us.
Hotel is looking tired and needs an update, cleaning was haphazard and definitely not up to standard. Kitchen amenities were less than basic. Front of house staff / concierge / bell desk were all very helpful.
Have been to this hotel 5 times as it is in a prime location in Whistler and expected better. Left wondering if I will return.
