Great resort, very friendly staff, beautiful grounds, beautiful beach and so clean, lots of day activities for everyone. My kids played so much beach volleyball and we did kayaking and used the pedal boats. You can also pay $25 to do the catamaran and go snorkeling. The pool area was great but when you have a beautiful beach with crystal clear waters you dont want to go to the pool. The room was renovated and quite good for the 3 of us. The food was ok. Not much variety and hardly saw chicken, and there was no lettuce or tomatoes. There was always something to eat but it can get tiring after a while. We went for everything else other than the food. My 18 year old son loved everything and ate everything and he met lots others close to his age. This resort was by far the best out of all of the other resorts in Varadero. I highly recommend it.

What an amazing experience I ve been to the Sol Palmeras resort several times. Each time the experience gets better . The food believe it or not is exceptional the drinks quench your thirst every time. . Shout out to the customer service reps Dyana who is amazing always with.bright smile and customer service orientated Big Thank you to Maria for a special dinner. Can’t get any better than what we had. Delicious lobster fantastic live music and friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend

We have just come back from our trip, and we had an amazing time in Sol Palmeras. Food was well done and we always find something to eat. We don't need gourmet food to have a nice vacation and it was plenty to be satisfied. The service in the lobby bar is always top, the best coffee and the best drinks. The beach is one of the most privileged in Varadero, so I would definitely recommend it and I will come back next year

We stayed in this hotel for our family vacation for 8 days and although it’s a 4 start hotel we had a better experience compared with other 5 start hotels in Varadero. For example: Restaurants: 1. The buffet had a great variety of food such as fish, pork, beef, chicken, and lamb with good taste. My appreciation to German that delivered a 5 start service and went above and beyond to made my family and I feel welcome every time we went. 2. The International restaurant had a variety of seafood with great taste and excellent service. My appreciation to Disney that served our table and answer every question we had professionally checking on us frequently making sure we were fine. 3. El Latino restaurant we had a good service, but the quality of the food was poor not tasty and there were a lot of mosquitos because it’s outside so I wouldn’t recommend it. 4. The Italian restaurant had a stoning view inside it’s all new remodeled. However, we had the worse experience with the service and quality of the food. Irenes served our table; she took our order wrong and she left us seating for an hour without checking on us, not even water. When I asked for her she finally came with the wrong order and blame the cook saying he was sick and that was the reason for her lateness. Also, instead of apologizing she entered into an argument with me not professional at all! 5. The Private romantic diner at the beach was a dream come true thank to Sergio that delivered a five start unbelievable service. Making sure we had all we needed. Also, the lobster and fillet mignon had an incredible taste and the saxophonists played incredible all the time we were there. I wouldn’t give a five start review because the service and quality of the food could be improve at the Italian restaurant. Overall, we will come back for our wedding and honeymoon next year. Nice layout, the resort is spacious but everything is near by, don't have to walk long distances, although we stayed at the main building, not in a bungalow - can't vouch for those. The beach is one of the best I've ever seen, even compared to Aruba. Just as other reviewers pointed out, bring lots of sunscreen and bug spray, those mosquitoes are very annoying, especially in July. The rooms are fairly clean, stuff very attentive most of the times (there is no perfection in the world!). Pretty good choice of food, both for breakfast and lunch. Amazing cheese and cold cuts station, we usually avoid non-cooked food in Cuba but this time we gave it a try and did not regret it! We went to a la carte restaurants most night, visited all 4 of them. I would not recommend the Italian: average quality of food, bad service, long waits, and watered wine like I have never seen before! Asian restaurant: good food, good service, but again - diluted wine. BTW, never seen that in Cuba before! Latino: everything was very good, food, wine, service... Special thanks to Luis who was absolutely amazing and spoke good English, French and even Russian (yes, we were a multilingual group). The restaurant we visited the most was Internacional. It is specialized in seafood and we loved eating there! The staff there made us feel at home, welcomed and treated like dear friends. Special thanks to Yasiris, our multilingual waitress of choice, but also to all the other wonderful staff there: Alfonso, Lidice, Disney, Raiko and Ivo! Considering coming back!
