I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sol Varadero Beach Hotel, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff made us feel right at home. I would especially like to highlight the attention of two staff members: Yessi and Johana. Both were incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile.

During the week of December 4-11, 2025, the atmosphere at the resort was described as vibrant, featuring a variety of pool, beach, and evening entertainment options. Guest participation in activities was encouraged, contributing to a positive environment. The resort maintained a high level of cleanliness, and staff were noted for their exemplary service and willingness to assist visitors. The guest demographic included a mix of French Canadian, Russian, and some English-speaking attendees. The dining options offered a solid selection for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; however, lunch and dinner menus tended to be repetitive, and while food shortages were not reported, variety was limited. It was mentioned that there was a shortage of beach towels, requiring guests to line up early at 9:00 a.m. to secure one, which could be obtained near the lobby.
Overall, a pretty great time!

Just returned from a 10-day stay at SVB and overall we had a very enjoyable stay The buffet is well stocked and has two egg stations for breakfast, and fish/meat/pasta stations for lunch and dinner. A la cartes were all good, with the Mexican and Cuban being my favourites. The beach is fantastic (it's Varadero after all); the pool is on the smaller side and pretty shallow, but it gets the job done and has a swim-up bar. They do have activities at the beach in the morning and poolside in the afternoon, but the clientele (primarily French Canadian and Russian guests) seems to skew a bit older, so the atmosphere is a bit more relaxed. Definitely not a 'spring break' resort, but the entertainment team does their best to get people involved and having fun. We did the upgraded package, and while we did not see a lot of other value in it, in our opinion it was worth it to stay in the building closest to the beach, and furthest from the bar/pool area. The nightly show in the lobby, especially the live bands, is LOUD. The rooms are very clean, nicely appointed and up to date. Fridge restocked with water and beer daily. The A/C unit in our room was an absolute champ, too! The few minor issues we had were all related to communication. The QR codes on the tables lead to incomplete or blank menus at times. We were genuinely not sure what was available for us to order, especially where drinks were concerned. There also seemed to be some confusion over what exactly a few of the drinks were. In trying to order the same coffee-based drink at 3 different places, I received 2 different drinks, and one person who didn't know what I was trying to order at all. Printed drinks menus would go a long way to alleviating the frustration. Another thing not clearly communicated was how the a la cartes work. We had to line up at 9am on Monday to book our dinners for the whole week. We were also only given 4 reservations for our 10-day stay. And our included 'lobster dinner' was actually a seafood dinner where the lobster cost extra. Overall, we had a very enjoyable ten days. As always in Cuba, we come for the beautiful beaches and the friendly people. So with that in mind, here are some special Shout-Outs to everyone who made our stay great! *Mariel, Adis, Marinalba, and the omelet lady (whose name I never got!) at the buffet *Yanet, Yardiel, and Listher at the 24-hr bar and pool bar *Gredis Mary, Luis Angel, and Dayana at the lobby bar *Arelis in housekeeping *Ana, the Sunwing/Westjet/Nexus rep in the lobby

During our stay at the Sol Varadero Beach Hotel, we had a truly unforgettable few days as a family. From the very first moment, we were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome that made us feel right at home. The facilities are modern, spacious, and very well maintained, with areas designed for both relaxation and fun.
