Paradisus Princesa del Mar has advised of ongoing renovations to the Hill Top Pool, which began in October 2025 and are scheduled to continue through December 20, 2025.
Please note that all renovation work is limited exclusively to the Hill Top Pool area. The Standard and Royal Service sections of the resort remain fully operational and unaffected by these improvements. All Royal Service amenities, including Butler Service, will continue to be available without interruption throughout the renovation period.
For guest safety, all maintenance areas will be clearly marked and secured. The work being carried out is non-disruptive, and the resort will make every effort to ensure minimal impact on the guest experience.

I traveled with my family to spend New Year’s (2025–2026) and paid extra for the “Level” (VIP), expecting comfort and quality. It was absolutely not worth it. Long wait for rooms, poor maintenance, leaking toilet, no hot water for hours, no internet, and phones that never worked. The so-called butler was nonexistent, and the private dining area had very limited food and drink options, often running out. On top of that, mosquitoes were unbearable despite claims of daily fumigation. Very disappointing experience. Not even close to a 5-star hotel.
Quiet fabulous resort

My husband and I just spent 10 days at the Paradisus Princess Del Mar a fabulous resort. It was our first time in Cuba and this resort far exceed our expectations. We stayed on the Royal side in a swim up room. Yes, the rooms are older but we have stayed in way worse here in Canada. We met Yas(our Butler) the first night and she showed us around a bit as it was later when we arrived. She mentioned to come the next day to meet Denis ( our other Butler) as they work opposite shifts. Any issues we had were dealt with to the best of their abilities. If anything that was listed in the Royal Service rooms was missing we just mentioned it to the our Butler and they got it for us. Yes, we did lose hot water on New Years Eve but they got it fixed as soon as they could. It didn't help that the next day was a holiday. The food was so much better than we expected. Everything has so much flavor that we didn't have to add anything. There are condiments available for those that wanted them. We tried all the ala carts and even went to some twice. The buffet had lots to offer for everyone for all meals. Unfortunately, there was no Coke or Pepsi and we were told they haven't has them in a few months. Any fancy drinks can be found at the piano or cigar bar. There is a 24 hour snack bar which was great fore late night snacks. The grounds were well kept. There was some seaweed on the beach and the water was crystal clear. Pool areas were cleaned first thing in the morning and the sitting areas were kept clean also. There were plenty of chairs around the pool and on the beach. It was so nice not to have to play the chair game first thing in the morning. All the staff from the grounds keepers, waitress, bar tenders , Butlers and everyone else in between were the friendliest we have ever come across in all of our travels. This is a very quiet relaxing resort. If you are a party person this is not a resort for you.
