Rude, incompetent staff. We have stayed in other hotels in Victoria, and prefer them all more than this place. The fitness room could not be accessed the entirely of our trip. The only saving grace is the location, which is central and walkable to all attractions. The room we were given was old, tired and had 3 flies/mosquitos that we had to swat down when we first entered. The carpets were stained, the room smelled moldy, and the tv was the size of my laptop. When I informed the front desk of the unsatisfactory, unhygienic and old condition of the room, her response was to inform me that “most guests in North America love the traditional aspect of their non refurbished rooms.” Sure, ok. I visit on average about 7 countries a year and stay in only 5 or 4 star hotels, but my opinion is not relevant next to the other white patrons. Please note my other friends staying for the same conference were given fresh, refurbished rooms with water bottles delivered. When I asked for the same, the lady had the audacity to tell me that tap water should work just fine for me. If not, it will be a 2 dollar charge for the bottle! I would love an explanation for this from management. Our group had 3 rooms and paid the same amount, 2 of which got nice rooms with water bottles. We got an old, dirty room and were told to drink water out of the sink tap.

Pros: great location. Cons: charging additional for every single service, from additional cot, to use of the EV charging station.  When we arrived, we were not informed upon pre-check in that we were assigned to the 3rd floor, just above the banquet floor, and that there would be a loud event that night. If I had known that, I wouldn't have booked this hotel. I guess they were thinking that leaving 4 sets of ear plugs in the room would be good enough. We paid for an additional cot, which was left folded in our room. When we called housekeeping to come and set up the cot, the housekeeper just opened it next to the TV and minibar credenza, which blocked both the TV and the minibar. Very minimal bathroom amenities. No water bottles, or water options at all.

We spent nine nights at Hotel Grand Pacific in late June, early July. This was at least our twentieth stay over the last twenty-five years. Obviously we love it. The location is ideal. You can easily walk to the inner harbor, shopping, Beacon Hill Park, Dallas Road, Craigdarroch Castle and to adjacent neighborhoods around downtown Victoria. And, there are so many other beautiful and historic sites to visit a short drive away. Hotel personnel are friendly and helpful. Rooms comfortable. Highly recommend booking a room overlooking harbor.

What a fantastic stay. From the adorable rooms, to the fantastic happy hour, to the refreshing pool, we. enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. We were walking distance from the harbor and so many excursions and restaurants. The staff was amazinginly friendly and even got us checked in when we got off the ferry early. The General Manager had a conversation with us in the elevator, and when we got back to our room that evening, he had left us a nice little note along with s plate of goodies for us to enjoy. We are plannning on coming back next year for a longer visit! They made us feel so welcome!!

Nutshell!! We have no complaints! except one! Great staff and service in all areas. Fathom restaurant breakfast is great but the dinner menu lacks diverse options. The Fathom lounge and patio are great. The lounge staff were a great bunch with a great cocktail menu. We recommend social hour. The patio was chill. The service great. We will be back. Well done!!!
