WestJet 30th Birthday Contest - Official Contest Rules 

Standard data rates apply to participants who choose to participate in the Contest via a mobile device. Please contact your service provider for pricing and service plan information and rates before mobile device participation. 

1. GENERAL 

The WestJet 30th Birthday Contest (the “Contest”) is being conducted by WestJet, an Alberta Partnership (the “Contest Sponsor”). Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”) is not a sponsor of the Contest and is in no way responsible for the administration of the Contest, the verification of winners, or the fulfillment of prizes. All inquiries regarding the Contest should be directed to the Contest Sponsor. Entry in this Contest constitutes each entrant’s acceptance of, and agreement to be legally bound by, these Official Contest Rules (the “Rules”). 

2. CONTEST  

The Contest opens at 12:00:01 a.m. Mountain Time (“MT”) on February 23, 2026, and closes at 11:59:59 p.m. MT on March 9, 2026 (the "Contest Period”). All Entries must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. MT on March 16, 2026 (the “Entry Deadline”).  

Mail-in Entries (as defined below) must be postmarked no later than March 9, 2026 and received by the Contest Sponsor no later than 11:59:59 p.m. MT on the Entry Deadline. For greater certainty, no Entries associated with an Eligible Booking or Eligible Purchase may be earned after the end of the Contest Period. 

3. ELIGIBILITY 

To be eligible for this Contest, an individual must be a legal resident of Canada, excluding residents of Quebec, who is over the legal age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of entry. Employees, representatives and agents of the Contest Sponsor, and its respective affiliates, subsidiaries, related entities, advertising and promotional agencies, and any other individual(s), entity or entities involved in the development, production, implementation, administration or fulfillment of the Contest (collectively, the "Contest Parties"), and the household members (whether related or not) and/or the immediate family members of any of the Contest Parties, are not eligible to participate in the Contest. For the purposes of these Rules, “immediate family members" means husband, wife, spouse, common law spouse, mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister, son and/or daughter, whether or not they reside in the same household.  

Individuals must be a member in good standing of the WestJet Rewards program and individually register for the Contest using one of the following methods to be eligible to enter the Contest. 

a. Online Registration: Enter https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/rewards/offers/birthday-contest into an internet browser, locate the contest section and follow the on-screen instructions to register for the Contest.  

b. Email Registration: Existing WestJet Rewards members who are opted into WestJet Rewards offer emails can register by clicking the link in the Contest email. 

4. HOW TO ENTER 

Participants will receive the commensurate number of entries (each, an “Entry”) into the Contest as outlined under the respective Entry Methods below. Each participant who successfully submits an Entry is an “Entrant”. 

For greater certainty, Entries earned through different Entry Methods on the same Contest Day are cumulative and an Entrant may earn Entries through more than one Entry Method on a given Contest Day, subject always to compliance with these Rules. 

A “Contest Day” means any calendar day during the Contest Period beginning at 12:00:01 a.m. MT and ending at 11:59:59 p.m. MT. 

Each Entry will be deemed to be earned on the Contest Day on which the qualifying action giving rise to such Entry occurs or, where applicable under these Rules, on the Contest Day corresponding to the transaction posting date. In the case of a mail-in Entry, the Entry will be deemed to be earned on the Contest Day corresponding to the postmark date, provided all other mail-in requirements set out in these Rules are met. 

Entries will only be eligible for the draw(s) associated with the applicable Contest Day on which they are earned. 

Entry Methods

a. WestJet Rewards members who have registered for the contest will automatically receive five (5) Entries upon making a WestJet flight booking of a minimum of one round trip or two one-way WestJet-marketed and operated eligible flights on an Eligible Fare (each round trip or two one-way flights, the “Eligible Booking”) between February 23 and March 9, 2026 (the “Contest Period”) for travel between March 2 and December 31, 2026 (the “Travel Period”).  
For the purposes of this Contest, Eligible Fare means Econo, EconoFlex, Premium, PremiumFlex, Business, BusinessFlex and Member Exclusive published base fares for WestJet-marketed and operated flights flown. For clarity, this is any flight with a “WS” carrier code preceding the flight number and operated by WestJet or WestJet Encore. UltraBasic fares, contracted fares and tour operator fares are not eligible for this Contest. 

b. WestJet Rewards members who are the primary cardholder as of February 23, 2026, of a WestJet RBC® Mastercard credit card, WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard credit card, or WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard for Business credit card (each, an "Eligible Card") linked to their WestJet Rewards account and who have registered for the contest will automatically receive maximum one (1) Entry per day upon making an Eligible Purchase with their Eligible Card per day. Entries are awarded based on the transaction posting date, which must occur on or before  March 16, 2026. 
For the purposes of this Contest, Eligible Purchase means a net purchase transaction, made by a cardholder on the Eligible Card account, that appears as a posted transaction on the Eligible Card account, minus returns, other credits, fees, interest charges, and cash advances (such as balance transfers, cash-like transactions and bill payments that are not pre-authorized charges set up with a merchant). 
For greater certainty, the Contest Day applicable to an Eligible Purchase will be determined based on the transaction posting date, and only Eligible Purchases with a posting date before the Entry Deadline, March 16 will be eligible to earn Entries. 

c. WestJet Rewards members who are the primary cardholder as of February 23, 2026, of an Eligible Card linked to their WestJet Rewards account will automatically receive ten (10) Entries upon making an Eligible WestJet Purchase with  their Eligible Card. Entries are awarded based on the transaction posting date, which must occur on or before the Entry Deadline. 
For the purposes of this Contest, Eligible WestJet Purchase means a net purchase transaction with “WestJet” identified as the merchant, made by  the primary cardholder on the Eligible Card account, that appears as a posted transaction on the Eligible Card account, minus returns, other credits, fees, interest charges, and cash advances (such as balance transfers, cash-like transactions and bill payments that are not pre-authorized charges set up with a merchant). Eligible Purchases that display as a WestJet Eligible Purchase include: WestJet Eligible Fares and WestJet-Eligible Ancillaries (including, but not limited to checked baggage fees, cabin upgrades fees, pre-reserved seats fees and other Air Transportation Charges) for WestJet-marketed  flights.
For greater certainty, the Contest Day applicable to an Eligible WestJet Purchase will be determined based on the transaction posting date, and only Eligible Purchases with a posting date before the Entry Deadline will be eligible to earn Entries. 

d. No Purchase Necessary Method: To submit an Entry in the Contest without making an Eligible Booking or an Eligible Purchase using an Eligible Card within the Contest Period, print your first name, last name, current date, WestJet Rewards ID, telephone number, complete mailing address, age, and signature on a plain white piece of paper and mail it (in an envelope with sufficient Canadian postage) along with a handwritten unique and original essay of 250 words or more (the “Essay”) on the subject of your “favourite memory with WestJet”, and send it to: ATTN: WestJet 30th Birthday Contest, WestJet, 22 Aerial Place NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 3J1. Upon receipt of a valid Essay submitted in accordance with these Contest Rules, you will be eligible to receive one (1) Entry in the Contest. Limit one (1) mail-in Entry per Entrant per Contest Day. For greater certainty, a mail-in Entry will be deemed to be earned on the Contest Day corresponding to the postmark date appearing on the mailing envelope, provided such postmark date falls within the Contest Period and all other requirements of these Rules are satisfied. 
If it is discovered by the Contest Sponsor (using any evidence or other information made available to or otherwise discovered by the Contest Sponsor) that any person has attempted to use multiple names, multiple identities, multiple email addresses, any automated, macro, script, robotic or other system(s) or program(s) and/or any other means not in keeping with the Contest Sponsor’s interpretation of the letter and spirit of these Rules to enter or otherwise participate in or to disrupt this Contest; then he/she may be disqualified from the Contest in the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsor (and, if disqualified, will have his/her Entry/Entries deemed null and void).  
The Contest Parties and each of their respective agents, employees, directors, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) are not responsible for, and accept no liability whatsoever in relation to, any late, lost, misdirected, delayed, incomplete or incompatible Entries.  
In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the person submitting an Entry, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to deem the entrant to be the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the Entry. 

5. PRIZES 

There are thirty (30) prizes of one hundred thousand (100,000) WestJet points to be won (each a “Prize”).  

The approximate average retail value of each Prize is $1,000. The exact value of a Prize depends on how a WestJet Rewards member chooses to redeem his/her WestJet points. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following general conditions apply to each Prize: (i) Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable, assignable or convertible to cash (except as may be specifically permitted by Contest Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion); (ii) no substitutions are permitted except at Contest Sponsor’s option; (iii) the costs of everything not expressly and specifically stated above as included in the Prize are the sole and absolute responsibility of the confirmed winner; (iv) Contest Sponsor reserves the right at any time to substitute the Prize for any reason with a prize or prize component(s) of equal or greater retail value, including, without limitation, but solely at the Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion, a cash award; and (v) by accepting the Prize, a Confirmed Winner agrees to waive all recourse against the Contest Sponsor and all of the other Released Parties. 

For an individual to earn a contest entry or prize, their WestJet Rewards Account and Eligible Card must be open and in good standing at the time the Entry is submitted and at the time the Prize is awarded.  

None of the Released Parties makes any representation or offers any warranty, express or implied, as to the quality or fitness of the Prize awarded in connection with the Contest. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the confirmed winner understands and acknowledges that he or she may not seek reimbursement or pursue any legal or equitable remedy from either the Contest Sponsor or any of the other Released Parties should the Prize fail to be fit for its purpose or is in any way unsatisfactory. 

6. WINNER SELECTION 

Thirty (30) eligible winners, two (2) for each day of the Contest, shall be selected as follows: 

 a. The odds of being selected as an eligible winner are dependent upon the number of Entries submitted and received for the applicable Contest Day in accordance with these Rules. On April 29, 2026, at approximately 12:00 p.m. MT (the “Draw Date”) at 22 Aerial Place NE, Calgary, Alberta, T2E 3J1, a data pull for all eligible Entries will be completed and thirty (30) eligible winners (each an “Eligible Winner”) will be selected by a random draw from all eligible Entries submitted and received in accordance with these Rules. 
For greater certainty, two (2) Eligible Winners will be randomly selected in respect of each Contest Day from among only those Entries earned on that Contest Day. All draws for all Contest Days will be conducted on the Draw Date. 
An Entrant may be selected as an Eligible Winner only once per Contest Day; however, an Entrant may be eligible to be selected as an Eligible Winner on more than one Contest Day, subject at all times to compliance with these Rules.

b. Following the Draw Date, the Contest Sponsor or its designated representatives will make no less than two (2) attempts to contact each Eligible Winner by phone and/or email, during the three (3) day period (the “Contact Period”) immediately following the Draw Date. Upon notification, the Eligible Winner must respond by telephone and/or email to the contact provided in the notification, and the Eligible Winner’s response must be received by the Contest Sponsor by no later than 5:00 p.m. MT on the required return date stipulated in such notification. If an Eligible Winner does not respond in accordance with these Rules, he/she may be disqualified, at the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsor, in which event he/she will not receive the Prize and another Eligible Winner may be selected from the remaining eligible Entries, in the Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion, whom the Contest Sponsor or its representatives will attempt to contact, and who must respond or will be subject to disqualification, in the same manner (adjusting timeframes, including the Contact Period, accordingly). Neither the Contest Sponsor, nor any of the other Released Parties are responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of an Eligible Winner to receive notification or for the Contest Sponsor to receive Eligible Winner response.

c. Before being declared as a winner of a Prize (each a “Confirmed Winner”), an Eligible Winner will be required to successfully answer a time-limited, unaided mathematical skill-testing question and complete and accept the Contest Sponsor’s Declaration and Release form (the “Release Form”) in order to be declared a Confirmed Winner. In the event that an Eligible Winner does not correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question; the Prize to which he/she may otherwise have been entitled will be forfeited. By completing and returning the Release Form and accepting a Prize, the Confirmed Winner: (i) confirms compliance with these Rules; (ii) acknowledges that the Prize must be accepted as awarded and cannot be substituted or transferred and has no cash surrender value; (iii) releases the grants to the Contest Sponsor and the Released Parties the unrestricted right, at the Contest Sponsor’s discretion, to produce, reproduce, publish, broadcast, communicate by telecommunication, exhibit, distribute, adapt and otherwise use or re-use the winner’s name, photograph, likeness, voice and biography, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, in connection with the Contest and the promotion and exploitation thereof, without further remuneration, in connection with any publicity carried out by or on behalf of the Contest Sponsor, which publicity shall be at Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion, and may be in any media whatsoever, with respect to this Contest, unless prohibited by law. Confirmed Winner agrees to cooperate in any investigations by the Contest Sponsor to confirm his/her eligibility and to help ensure that the use of such Confirmed Winner in advertising or publicity for the Contest will not bring the Contest Sponsor into public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule or reflect unfavourably on the Contest or the Sponsor, as determined by the Contest Sponsor in its sole discretion.  

f. Please allow approximately 4 to 6 weeks following the receipt of your completed Release Form by the Contest Sponsor for your WestJet Rewards point balance to reflect delivery of any Prize. 

g. WestJet points are subject to, and governed by, the WestJet Rewards Terms and Conditions and the WestJet Rewards Privacy Policy. 

7. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

 a. The Released Parties assume no responsibility or liability whatsoever for lost, late, misdirected or incomplete Entries notifications, responses, or any Release Forms, or for any telephone, hardware, software or technical malfunctions that may occur, including but not limited to malfunctions that may affect the transmission or non-transmission of an Entry. The Released Parties are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest. The Released Parties assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of Entries. 

b. The Released Parties are not responsible for any injury or damage caused to any entrant, person or entity relating to or resulting from participating or attempting to participate in the Contest. Entrant assumes liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participating in the Contest, or by the acceptance, possession, use of, or failure to receive the Prize or any portion thereof. The Released Parties assume no responsibility or liability in the event that the Contest cannot be conducted as planned for any reason, including those reasons beyond the control of the Contest Sponsor, such as infection by tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or corruption of the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest. 

c. Each entrant further agrees to be bound by the decisions of the Contest Sponsor, which shall be final and binding without right of appeal in all respects. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Entrant found to be: (i) violating the Rules; (ii) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest; and/or (iii) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. 

d. By participating in the Contest, the entrant: (i) grants to the Contest Sponsor the right to use his/her name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address (the “Personal Information”) for the purpose of administering the Contest, including, but not limited to, contacting the eligible winner; and (ii) acknowledges that the Contest Sponsor may disclose his/her Personal Information to third-party agents and service providers of any of the Contest Sponsor in connection with any of the activities listed in (i) above. The Contest Sponsor and any third-party agents of the Contest Sponsor will use the entrant’s Personal Information only for identified purposes and protect the entrant’s Personal Information in a manner that is consistent with WestJet’s Privacy Policy available at: https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/legal/privacy-policy. This section does not limit any other consent(s) that an individual may provide the Contest Sponsor or others in relation to the collection, use and/or disclosure of their Personal Information. 

e. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to the Contest Sponsor – including, without limitation, government issued photo identification): (i) for the purposes of verifying an individual’s eligibility to participate in this Contest; (ii) for the purposes of verifying the eligibility and/or legitimacy of any Entry and/or other information entered (or purportedly entered) for the purposes of this Contest; and/or (iii) for any other reason the Contest Sponsor deems necessary, in its sole and absolute discretion, for the purposes of administering this Contest in accordance with the Contest Sponsor’s interpretation of the letter and spirit of these Rules. Failure to provide such proof to the complete satisfaction of the Contest Sponsor within the timeline specified by the Contest Sponsor may result in disqualification of the applicable entrant in the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsor. All personal and other information requested by and supplied to the Contest Sponsor for the purpose of this Contest must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Entry or entrant in its and their sole discretion, should any Entry or entrant at any stage supply untruthful, incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading personal details and/or information  

f. All intellectual property, including but not limited to trademarks, trade names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source code, drawings, illustrations, slogans, and representations are owned by the Contest Sponsors/prize suppliers and/or their affiliates. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.  

 g. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw, amend or suspend this Contest (or to amend these Rules) in any way, in the event of any cause beyond the reasonable control of the Contest Sponsor that interferes with the proper conduct of this Contest as contemplated by these Rules, including, without limitation, any error, problem, computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or failure of any kind whatsoever. Further, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right, to cancel, amend or suspend this Contest, or to amend these Rules, in any way without prior notice or obligation, in the event of any accident, printing, administrative, or other error of any kind, or for any other reason whatsoever. Further, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right to adjust any of the dates, timeframes and/or other Contest mechanics stipulated in these Rules, to the extent deemed necessary by the Contest Sponsor, for purposes of verifying compliance by any entrant, Entry, or other information with these Rules, or as a result of any technical or other problems, or in light of any other circumstances which, in the opinion of the Contest Sponsor, in its sole and absolute discretion, affect the proper administration of the Contest as contemplated in these Rules, or for any other reason. 

h. The Contest is subject to applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations. The Rules are subject to change without notice in order to comply with any applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws or the policy of any other entity having jurisdiction over the Contest Sponsor. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Rules or the rights and obligations as between the entrant and the Contest Sponsor in connection with the Contest will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of Alberta including procedural provisions without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction’s laws. 

i. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these English Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including, but not limited to, the French version of these Rules (if available), television, print or online advertising and/or any instructions or interpretations of these Rules given by any representative of the Contest Sponsor, the terms and conditions of these English Rules shall prevail, govern and control to the fullest extent permitted by law.
