Oh boy. A review by a person with the infamous name of “Karen”. Here we go! ?? I’m actually still at the hotel as I write this review, so maybe some magical cleaning robot will swoop in and create some cleanliness. Okay, that’s not fair. In all honesty - the workers that we’ve seen here, really seem busy trying to whip this place into some sort of better shape. In my own humble opinion, I believe that this hotel fell long ago and they are trying to bring it back to life…. Unfortunately by covering up things in a not-so-beautiful (or correct / up to code) manner… ?? My Father checked in a day before us, and the check-in line was wrapped around the building, even though he was prompted to check in an hour before he arrived to the hotel by sending a text to a number that was emailed the day prior to arrival. It’s 90° folks, and it ain’t covered. This is Florida, y’all. Don’t you think we should have it together by now - having shaded areas where lines will be forming? Side note: I can say this because my husband is born and raised in Florida, so by marriage, I’m a Floridian. ?? Anyhow, after check-in, he got to the room, and went into the ‘B’ part of the condo. Went to the bathroom to spring a leak, and was met by a toilet that was doing the same. Upon further inspection (did I mention my Father is a former NY General Contractor and former FL home inspector yet ??), mold and (way too many to list) cover-up jobs were everywhere. Yikes. He called the front desk; no answer. Tried again 10 minutes later. Still no answer. Oh well. Moving on… He went for a stroll, poolside. Only to be met with wild, hootin’ & hollerin’, LOUD groups of people that disrespected any and all privacy that could’ve been had for any person sitting at or using the pool. We are talking radios blasting, beer cans, white claws, empty cups and bottles everywhere (trash bins were thisclose, but apparently too far for these classy groups!), dirt in the pool, a huge fight between two families broke out and now I’m exhausted describing that first 15 minutes of his trip. Let’s continue… Oh wait - almost forgot - he was bringing a case of Dasani water up in the elevator, and right before the doors closed, two…umm… less than friendly people stuck their foot in the door and jumped in with him, asking for his waters. He said no, and decided to take the stairs instead. Fast forward to the next day, my husband, son and I arrive. There was SO much traffic coming into the resort - which is HUGE by the way. The bigger the resort, the more people it can hold. And to fill these rooms, they also offer inexpensive nightly rates - which clearly tends to bring in all walks of life…. And drugs ?? I was working out on my balcony the last few mornings and was met with the stench of an early morning doobie being lit up. I’m all for people having a good time - and mostly that smell wouldn’t bother me. But the cigarette smell… all ???? over ???? the ???? place - is something we all couldn’t and can’t stand. Hallways, corridors, elevators you name it. Let’s talk about something positive here - Meli - who works at the entrance to the water park here, is simply incredible. Because of her, we decided to splurge the $20 per person to cross over to that area for an afternoon (side note: water park is only free for owners of the time share - and it has to be your week — not a trade). Well worth the investment, if you can. Our 4 year old son had an awesome time in the wave pool and especially the Pirate splash pad - that was hands down his favorite. The lazy River was a lot of fun, until, two Grandmas decided to stop traffic because they didn’t want water dumped on them (hi, you’re in the water…. And you don’t want to get wet? ???????)… they’re in the inner tubes, and the current is strong. We watched as a toddler in a life vest (no tube) went right into the middle of them and was stuck; getting pulled under because of the fast current.. luckily the Mom was nearby and pulled him out of that situation as quick as she could, but not before he swallowed enough water to make him gag, choke and spit up straight water after she had him. And incase you were wondering, the Grandmothers never moved - they had no idea what was happening. Scary situation ?????? Thankfully with the best outcome one could hope for. Another positive - the hostess girls at Draft’s were very sweet and friendly, as was our waiter. Unfortunately we did not get their names. Circling back to the bad now.. I’m providing some photos of the ummm… repairs… that have been done in our particular unit. The TV entertainment unit in the living room is broken, chipped, painted(?) and just plain ol’ old. Come to think of it, it’s all old. All of the furniture, the window treatments, the paint colors, the kitchen lighting, the chairs, the decor…. The list goes on and on. This place 100% is in desperate need of a remodel. All 3 bathrooms - the shower stalls have been re-caulked… but with brown caulk. With the white caulk underneath or up to it. It’s just messy. And wrong. And hideous. Even if we weren’t in the construction/remodeling industry, this is something that can’t be missed. Like, why brown? ?? There’s a huge chunk missing out of the master bathroom tile, too. And let’s not get started on the dirty floors - inside and on the balcony. Hair. Weaves. Dirt. Bugs. Dust. It’s got it all. Front door handle/locking mechanism looked like it had been tampered with… and never fixed, lol… Most of the dresser draws are broken, don’t close right and basically fall out of the dresser if you attempt to open them. So, needless to say, we won’t be staying here again. The resort will probably like hearing that after they read this review ?? While it may be good for some people/families - we just expected more for the money invested. I’ll end this review with a quote from my husband-of-few-words - “if I owned a timeshare unit in this place, I would be pissed”. ???????

Im going to give it 2 stars cause most the staff I encountered was very nice and professional. With that being said I am not very happy with our stay at all. The room was gross. There was trash in the halls everytime we walked out our room. The toilet handle was hanging off which made it hard to flush the toilet. The blinds was broke so if you wanted them close you had to turn them all by hand. Our bath was dirty. We called for someone to clean it and they sprayed it two times, wiped once, and was done. Needless to say it was still dirty. There was black curly hair in the shower as well. Our remote also didn't have a covering on the battery part so that was fun. On Saturday we went to the marketplace to order food. We stood there a good 15 minutes figuring out what we wanted to eat while the staff was behind the counter. When we got to the counter they then proceeded to tell us their system was down and we couldn't order anything. They then sent us next door knowing it was all one system. Also way over populated which lead to no parking! Oh, and when you request the manager to call you, they never do, so you have to keep calling. Manager I spoke to said they were very busy and they are going to hire more staff so they can give great customer service ??

I really wanted to love this place, but it was a huge disappointment. We paid $200 per night for our room, as we did not go to the sales presentation. Upon arrival we waited 40 minutes in a car line to check in, luckily the young lady we checked us in was very sweet, and helpful. Once we found our building we had to circle the parking lot like vultures looking for a parking spot for almost 20 minutes. Walking into the building there were a lot of people hanging outside the entry smoking marijuana, and cigarettes, with the entry door propped open. Trash bags lined the hallways at 8:30pm. We stepped into our room, and it was ok at first look, but upon further inspection, there was hair all over the sheets, some crusty substance on the blanket, and a thick coating of black dirt, and soap scum in the bathtub. It was busy, and I can understand that so I called down to the desk and asked for new sheets, I called at 9:07 pm. I called again at 11, and 11:30. Around 1 am, the sheets showed up. The following day we spent some time at the pool. There are no towels at the pool, so you need to take them from your room. After spending time at the pool we decided to have lunch at the resort. We waited in line to order our food for around 20 minutes, and noticed no one was getting any food, when we asked what was going on the girl at the counter said " my system is down, I cant get you anything" ok so we waited in line for 20 minutes for nothing, and no one said anything. I asked where else we could get lunch at the resort, and she said she didn't know. Fine. We found another place who let us know that nothing at the resort was working, and we would have to leave the property to get lunch. So we did. I called and spoke with the manager, and he offered us $50 in credit, after seeing my 3 calls the night before, and about the outage, that wasted part of our day. He told us to call when we got back on property to have our room cleaned. I didnt bother to do so, as I had already cleaned the tub, and changed the sheets myself. Finally Sunday morning while getting dressed, a roach decided to join us. Crawled down the wall and behind the bed, to join its roach friends. I can understand the screaming people at all hours of the night up and down the halls, I can accept people smoking outside, I can even try to wrap my mind around the sheets, but roaches is where I draw the line. My suitcase is currently sitting in the sun, covered in roach killer, because I am afraid to bring it in my house.

Me and my family are literally only 5 hours into staying here and have already ran into numerous issues here at the new treasure cove day pool. We are a hefty family of 6, and decided to rent out a cabana alongside the east side of the Waterpark and pool. The cabana was $150 per day,, which we had rented for two days. Upon entering, the cabana was filthy, there were no waters, snacks, towels, or anything present that were supposed to go along with it. We had waited over an hour, and still no one had came over to ask if we needed anything. My husband had to walk over to the bar himself, just for waters to place in the cabanas, because no one had came. We had expressed our concerns to the supervisor and manager on duty about the dirty cabana, and empty refreshment fridge; which resulted in a negotiation that he (the supervisor on duty) would give us complimentary drinks for the remainder of our stay for the day, and will make sure that we had a waitress come over to or cabana to take our orders.. We had agreed to this and was thankful that he had offered it to us. When it came tim to pay our bill, we noticed that nothing had been deducted from our bill, so we asked again for the supervisor to find out why. When he came over to us, he told us that they will only be removing only 2 drinks from our bill (an equivalent value of about $20). Even though he had already stated that the drinks were complimentary due to the issues we had. I find that the upper staff here is very misleading, unprofessional, and does not no how to correctly cater to their guest. Now I am writing this and being run out of the cabana. We are so done.

We had a very difficult two weeks at west gate. We stayed in the 400 building. 3 bedroom suite. Second floor. Terrible experiences. Very poor customer service! First things first, the unit was not clean. My children could have done a much better job at cleaning it. Gross! We must have had a very old unit! We went and bought cleaning supplies and cleaned it ourselves. Not worried about Covid, but it you are, this wouldn’t be the place for you. Our bed was a board, our bathtub leaked both out of the drain (when you’re taking a bath) and the faucet back leaked water out when on, (also complete with nasty hairs!) the shower came complete with black mold, the bathtub was dirty when we arrived, no wash cloths, dish rags or hot pads. Our vent above the toilet, drained water out of it whenever we had guests above us. You can tell it was a reoccurring problem, because it had stained the tile floors in two spots. Only one hot tub on the grounds worked. The rest were stagnant and yucky. One hot had the handicap chair stuck in it for over a week, and the hot electrical wires to the hot tub sticking out and exposed for anyone to touch. Several patrons called on the concern. Was not addressed until the end of the second week we were there. Whenever you called down to the front desk for assistance, the phone was 99% of the time NOT answered or you were picked up and hung up. You’d have to go down to the lobby and hope you caught someone to help you. When walking to the elevator 99% of the time they had the housekeepers cart just sitting out from the closet with clean towels and bedsheets hanging off of it. Sometimes on the ground and that included evening hours. Most times we’d notice it would stay out all night. Not very sanitary. The housekeepers closet on the second floor was disgusting!!! 3 Housekeeping ladies walked into our room while our family was napping, even with our DO NOT DISTURB sign out. When I asked them what was needed she preceded to tell me that she wanted the dress I was wearing and that “it would look good on her”. No apology for coming in, or startling us, just laughing at me while I asked her to leave. They then tried to get into our teen daughters room which startled her. The friends that were with us, also had an engineer enter their room unannounced, while she was napping and she woke up to him in her kitchen looking at the hot water heater. No tools, just “observing” it. She’s an older lady and you can imagine her surprise. Also a Do not disturb sign out on her door. There was dozens of un-happy customers when we were visiting there in April. The cops were there nightly. It wasn’t uncommon to hear yelling at the front counter. We felt like some of the staff was trying and others just didn’t care. They are completely understaffed and overwhelmed. They’re having a very difficult time trying to keep staff on. We got the distinct feeling their company is being mismanaged or going under. Honestly, couldn’t wait to depart here. We expected something different. We of course expected a safe, clean resort and we did not get that with West Gate. We own time shares, and this is the worse we’ve experience thus far. This place should be closed down!!
