A wonderful mother- daughter getaway

After a long Canadian winter and a 3 month delay ( we were originally supposed to go in January) we finally made it to Aruba and this hotel did not disappoint. The courtyard Marriott Aruba resort was a great resort for our 5 day vacation. From check-in to check out I did not have any complaints. The resort is clean and the grounds are well kept. The breakfast buffet has plenty of options and the omelettes were very tasty. We also ate at the restaurant for lunch and dinner on two separate occasions and both were very good, especially the dinner . But the BEST part of this resort is the staff. The staff get a 10/10. Welcoming, compassionate, always willing to serve and provide a wonderful experience. They really go above and beyond. A big thank you to Melissa, Marvin, Emelyn, Jose, and the supervisor at Allegra. You were amazing and we appreciate you so much. Tips- hotel is great for families, solo travelers, couples , basically anyone. -Beach shuttle takes you right to palm beach. Aruba on a whole is truly “One Happy Island” and I highly recommend this resort. Stayed April 9-14 in room 2041

Ferdnanda is the absolute best! She is an ageless beauty who makes the drinks delicious and brightens the experience with her infectious smile. Big hugs to Courtyard for always having the best talent on the island.

Love location in a quiet and relaxing place with easy and consistent shuttle services throughout the day. Rooms spacious. Staffing always smiles and welcoming from Doorman Franco arranging transportation as request also Jose. In the Front Desk Nicolle, Marina, Glen. The room attendant Ms. Nelly who went the xtra Mille providing a personalized service. In the restaurant Nelson, Marlene, John, Miguel. In the Spa Maribel to Israel in loss prevention staff. A building without the proper staff is just a building, but this property truly defines what Aruba is known for “Happy Island” Thank you to this amazing team.
Terrible Beach Set-up and Noisy Families-Couples Beware!

The Beach: The beach situation at this hotel is not good. It is across the street from the beach as advertised, fine. It is a 5 minute golf cart shuttle, fine. It is not a very short walk, unless you want to walk 20 minutes in the hot sun. Up to you. Once there you'll find a thin section of beach reserved for hotel guests. The chairs, of which there about 30ish, are packed very, very close together. There is a very limited number of umbrellas; maybe 10. The attendant is wonderful. He tried his best to get us two chairs and an umbrella. There are lots of fresh towels and cold water as well. Palm Beach itself has a very narrow shore line with little room to walk along the beach as chairs come very close to the sea. It is very crowded. We normally go to Eagle Beach which is more expansive and less crowded. The water was coolish to me. I am used to a much warmer Carribean sea, especially in early April. The Hotel: A small quaint hotel with very nice rooms that are tastefully decorated with a beach decor vibe. Many have patios and balconies overlooking the pool, if that's your choice. The rooms are very clean. The bedding is very nice and I found the beds cozy and soft. My partner found the bed lumpy. I slept very well though. The Pool: It is an excellent set-up for babies, toddlers and younger children. There is a 1.5 foot wading pools. A 3' 10" pool and then the bigger one is about 4.5 feet deep. This is a children and toddlers dream pool set-up. There are lots of chairs, packed tightly together. Helpful staff for towels and there is always fresh, cold water. The servers here are excellent. You can get drinks and food fast from a server or at the bar. But, this pool is designed solely for young children and their parents- no one else. This is not a quiet hotel! Very young unhappy babies and toddlers screaming for twenty minutes is common. The joyous sound of children swimming was not the situation here, for the most part. The Breakfast: The breakfast selections were somewhat limited, but the main things were there: eggs, omlets made to order, bacon, sausage, cereal, yogurt fresh fruit etc.. However, the food that was supposed to be hot was cool. The serving dishes didnt keep it warm. The coffee was mediocre. Luckily, there is a Starbucks at the bar, so better coffee is available for sale. The Restaurant: Again, the food is only ok. However, it is very convenient. Pizza, burgers, pastas, salads, steaks. It is just basic food. They also have fresh Gelato. The restaurant and bar staff however are exceptional. So, well done there. The Staff: The staff are absolutely exceptional: very competent, very friendly and everyone is always polite and accommodating. The staff, along with the quaint size and vibe of this hotel, are great. The hotel and grounds are immaculate. Extremely clean. But overall, this is a FAMILY ONLY resort. It is not for couples who want even a normal level of noise. If you do not have kids, avoid. I know it is not adults only, but there were so many babies, toddlers and pregnant women, I felt like I was in The Handmaid's Tale. I would never go again, but if you have 1 to 10 year old children and want a budget holiday, where you like pools intead of the beach, this hotel is for you. If SCREAMIMG, CRYING, WHINING, DYSREGULATED, and sometimes poorly parented, children are your thing, you'll enjoy this hotel. In other words, couples beware, unless screaming and crying kids don't bother you. I have never gone to a budget hotel before and wouldn't go again.
