Just Okay…

Rachel J on Apr 09, 2024

Let’s start with saying how beautiful Aruba is and how everyone is so warm and welcoming! This goes for most of the staff at the Hilton, as well. If I had to base my experience off staff interactions alone, I’d give the resort 4 stars but since it’s based on the entirety of my stay, it earns a 2.5. The location can’t be beat if you like to be within walking distance to restaurants and nightlife. It was nice having a variety of options so you don’t feel obligated to eat at the resort each night. I, however, felt slightly overwhelmed and overstimulated with the loud music, party busses and constant traffic that bypassed the resort on the daily. The grounds were well kept, bathrooms well maintained and the pools were clean but everything still felt a little outdated. There weren’t any slides, games or beach activities that didn’t cost extra for the kids (ages 10 and 11), so our boys got bored easily and ended up back in the room to watch TV. Speaking of our room, we had a partial ocean view in the Aruba Tower that sat above the bar. Every night they blasted music until 11 PM and even with the doors shut, it was still impossible to fall asleep! Once we did, we were awakened by our drunk, twenty-something neighbors who would arrive back to their room between 1 AM and 2 AM, proceed to scream at each other, cussing like sailors and since the walls are paper thin, our kids heard things they shouldn’t have heard. Accusations of infidelity, severe name calling, threats (to the point I almost called the front desk), doors slamming and let’s not forget the vomiting noises that could be heard through the walls…the list goes on. This happened for 2 nights before we checked out and spent our last night at a different hotel. It’s such a shame because this resort has so much potential.

Wonderful Week at the Hilton

macasue (Saint James City, Florida) on Apr 09, 2024

Recently stayed at the Hilton, in the Palm Beach Club. It was great! There were four outstanding ladies who were always pleasant and helpful for what ever you need, Matilda, Afroze, Irma, and Mercedes. They even had a slice of birthday cake sent to our room! Our room was always clean and ready to relax in, thanks to Iris. The beach and pool areas are so relaxing, and always clean.

Hilton did not disappoint again.

HHdiamond (Savannah, Georgia) on Apr 08, 2024

We just returned from 5 nights at the Aruba Hilton, and it was terrific. I am a lifetime HH Diamond member, and my experience during our stay was the best I could have received. It began with a call from the hotel two days before our arrival discussing a room upgrade. It continued with an outstanding beach palapa (Palapa #60) oceanfront. I must thank Angeline Dijkhoff for making our stay and beach time the best. Sunset Grill was closed for renovation, which was a tad disappointing. The new tower construction was a non-issue. Laguna's breakfast was very good and reasonably priced. Other reviewers have mentioned the weather and ocean no need to repeat.

First time and good choice to stay

chamdex (Chesterfield, Virginia) on Apr 08, 2024

This is a nice Hilton. The construction is a nonissue. I think the rooms were standard (we were in the Aruba tower). The breakfast was great - nothing at all like in the States. The palapas were also very helpful to have (note: you can technically fit 4 to one palapa although we booked 2 for ease of use). The sand is nice and white and the bottom of the ocean in front of the hotel is the same. I did hear there was a little "muddiness" further out due to a recent storm but overall, we had no issues with any seaweed or jellys (didn't even see any). Across the street are all sorts of restaurants. One kink is the concierge service. We talked to them twice. Neither time did they seem eager to help with anything out of the ordinary (particularly the female who was there). They did call a restaurant to check on availability but that was after a little bit of prodding by my husband. The first time, they didn't help at all and definitely didn't want to. I had a question about getting to Baby Beach if we didn't have a car and they sort of shrugged and said a taxi (but no information about a private transfer or a bus or anything and they weren't going to inquire further about it). Just sort of trailed off and the conversation died. Not a huge deal, but that's partly why the 4 stars because the devil's in the details. On a great note - the guys you have working at the Palapas and pools are amazing! So friendly and just a great attitude (Ash and J something I think). Great guys. Overall - Hilton is a good choice.

A Hilton gem !!

Thomas G on Apr 06, 2024

Although my wife and I weren’t staying at the Hilton because we are timeshare owners we did walk through the lobby and discovered a very inviting outdoor bar . We sat at a high top table and our server/bartender Yujeidi took our order for Mojitos. After tasting the perfectly prepared Mojitos ( rarely made well) I summoned her over to tell her that the only ones that were on par with hers was at the Ritz Carlton. Yujeidi proceeded to tell us that she was trained in mixology by her manager Tico who has been with Hilton for 30+ yrs. She brought Tico over to chat with us. Because of her charm and outstanding personality we remained at the bar longer that we had planned and enjoyed the atmosphere immensely. Hopefully this review will catch the eye of Hiltons upper management because Yujeidi is a huge asset for this resort and should be appreciated. We have vacationed in Aruba since 2009 ( 23 visits) and are owners at the Marriott Surf and Ocean Clubs . The top reasons we love Aruba is the beauty of the Island and it’s native people, the consistency of fabulous weather and of course two of the best beaches in the world . We actually feel safer at our home away from home Aruba than we do at home near Boston, Ma..
