Best Espresso Martini ever!
Matt C on Mar 20, 2024
Amazing hotel. Service is off the charts. The staff is very professional and will help with all requests. If you want the best Espresso Martini on the planet, head to the Piano Bar and ask for Antonio Blanco. He is a great mixologist and his service is second to none. We will be back soon.
AMAZING!!!!

We stayed with a group of 100+ people for 3 days for a work trip. We could not have had a better experience!! The rooms were gorgeous. The food was amazing. The pool was perfect. And I cannot say enough about the staff. One person in particular, Elvis, who works in the front desk area, was AMAZING! Again, with more than one hundred people in our group, he still met us every day with a smile and a joke. I heard we were the largest group to have ever stayed in the hotel and you would have never known that. Every day was absolutely amazing. We had our awards dinner on the beach. The food was prepared on time and without any hiccups, which were to be expected but did not even happen. I simply cannot rave enough about this hotel. We were treated and felt like royalty. I hope our team gets to come back soon and if not, I truly hope to come back!!
Beautiful hotel, mid sized, extremely well done!

This hotel was by far the nicest we saw on our trip to Belize! The staff including Shakeria at the pool, deswayne at the swim up bar, & all of the pool staff were great. The manager at The Deck was wonderful as well. We had ordered a lava cake, however she came over and told us that they were not coming out right but offered us something else. We told her it was fine and as they brought back the check they brought out the lava cake. She said 7 trys later & it worked! The rooms are just like the photos online and the balconies are awesome. We went to the Deck restaurant which I would recommend, however, I wouldn't go back to Sea Salt. The pool food was great, they even have a 24oz burger!!! Restaurants close by that I'd recommend: Hidden Treasure, Elvis, La Palmilla (only if you can sit outside), and the drive-through coffee place just down the street. Definitely rent a golf cart (I'd recommend not going through the hotel it is very pricy). The last con is having to take the hopper flight over to the island which makes for a long travel day. It was all worth it though!
Mixed bag and was hoping for much better.

Some things are not within the resort's control (i.e. the very loud vehicles on the street outside at all hours), but many of the negative experiences were. I.e. the service was very inconsistent (with us wondering each day what we would get), guests were apparently allowed to play their own music at the pool at top volume, housekeeping left our door blocked open at least once (and when we enquired at the front desk, they said it must have been us who left it open - which it wasn't, as it was after housekeeping had been there). And maybe naive of us, but we were expecting the beach to be swimmable - which it wasn't, due to wind/waves, drop-off and tons of sargassum (which, yes, they can't control, and do try to clean it up, but still wasn't swimmable). As for underwater, having been diving all over the world, we were expecting the reef to be amazing, but alas, while it was OK, it certainly wasn't as hyped. A decent amount of soft corals/sea fans, but the fish life was very light, and overall, just seemed to come up short. The rooftop bar was our one escape where we always enjoyed ourselves - drinks and sushi were great - though we really wish they wouldn't allow wet bathing-suits on the same chairs that people sit in for dinner. Overall, it wasn't at all what I expected, and I wish I had known some of this info beforehand.
Great week in San Pedro at the Alaia Belize!

We had an excellent stay here for spring break. My wife, son, and I stayed in a 2BR villa in the older, but renovated, part of the resort. The room was great and the A/C was freezing cold, which was amazing. The beds were super comfy. There was a nice kitchenette in the room as well as a comfy living area. The only downside was the water pressure wasn't great and the hot water was a bit touchy. The staff here is amazing. By far the best staff we have experienced. We were greeted by Elvis and Eric, who assisted with our arrival and luggage. They were great throughout the week as well. The concierges Gibron and Gian were super helpful and patient as we set up multiple excursions and changed things around quite a bit. Tricia was a manger there and extremely friendly and helpful as well. Bartenders Sharon and Edwin were great at the bar by the pizza place (where we ate twice). Roberta, the poolside waitress was a joy. The food here is amazing, and we are pretty picky. Roan does an amazing job managing food and beverage. I had to stop and find him and comment how much we enjoyed the food. Libeth was a very nice hostess at the breakfast restaurant and always had a smile. We got a cabana one day and Rolando made sure it was set up perfectly and came by multiple times to make sure we had fresh towels and had the umbrella in the right position for shade. It made for the perfect lazy day by the pool and much needed rest. Roberta made sure we had drinks and food throughout the day just at the right times. We spent one day on a boat with Fito and Kevin. We spent the morning fishing, then some amazing snorkeling, and they cooked the fish for lunch as we cruised down to Caye Caulker. The fish and conch ceviche were amazing. On the way back we saw families of dolphins and snorkeled and saw a manatee! I highly recommend booking this. The boat is the best on the water. Very clean and comfy. And the crew take care of your every need. This is really a great property and one we will return to next time we visit Belize. Thank you for a wonderful Spring Break!
