Beautiful Resort

Alaia is absolutely stunning—the grounds, pools, and overall atmosphere are gorgeous and feel upscale without being pretentious. The rooms were clean and modern, and the location is convenient to San Pedro while still feeling a bit tucked away. One standout was Eric—he was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. You can tell he leads his team well, and his presence made a noticeable difference in our experience. The “beach” area is more of a seawall than a traditional sandy beach. When the sargassum seaweed isn’t present, you can climb down into the ocean, but when it is, it can build up and create a noticeable odor. It wasn’t an issue up at the pool areas, but something to be aware of if direct beach access is important to you.
Amazing Hotel and Incredible Staff!

Our vacation at Alaia Belize Autograph Collection was absolutely amazing from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Eric Mendez who truly set the tone for our stay. He went above and beyond to help with anything we needed and is a wonderful representative of the resort. I traveled with a friend and we stayed in a one-bedroom oceanview suite. The room was spacious, spotless, AC perfect and had incredible views of the ocean, pool, and grounds. The balcony was a highlight and housekeeping did an excellent job throughout the entire resort. The pool areas were beautiful, with a swim-up bar, cabanas, plenty of chairs and lots of umbrellas. One thing we really appreciated was not having to wake up early to reserve chairs, there was always plenty of space. The staff was incredibly attentive and even remembered our names after the first day. Special thanks to Kenroy, Minnie, and Maria for taking such great care of us with food and drinks as well as the fantastic team at the swim-up bar. The rooftop bar quickly became one of our favorite spots to start and end each evening. The sunsets were stunning, the views were incredible, and the space was always clean and inviting. Huge thanks to Dennese, Aaron, Naya, Lizbeth, Jomar, JC, and another lovely staff member whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch. Everyone was so friendly and consistently went above and beyond. Overall, the resort is a beautiful gem and the people on Ambergris Caye are truly amazing. As we heard during our stay, they really are “Un-Belize-able!” Looking forward to our return. The only downside in my opinion is the beach. There is a seawall, so you can’t walk directly into the ocean. For me, this wasn’t a deal breaker but if easy ocean access is a priority it’s something to keep in mind.

I had an excellent stay and wanted to highlight the outstanding service I received during my visit. Eric truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. From the moment I arrived, he was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring a great experience. Eric anticipated needs before I even had to ask, handled every request with professionalism, and made me feel like a valued guest throughout my stay. It’s rare to come across someone who takes such pride in their work, and it made a noticeable difference in the overall experience.

Overall good experience

Our suite was beautiful, we got the 1 bedroom oceanview suite. It had three balconies, one on each side of the hotel and then the larger balcony with the ocean view. That balcony had a couch, dining table, and seating for the dining table. It felt really nice to be able to eat meals out there and drink coffee in the morning with such a gorgeous view. All the staff (even the locals) we encountered were very friendly. Also everyone was quick to point us in the direction of where we needed to be. It was really easy to grab a taxi when we needed it as they are typically on standby or they are quickly available. There is a supermarket within walking distance from the hotel. Fresh bottled water was always replenished with each room cleaning. Room service was quickly delivered. Eric who was typically at the door or lobby was a memorable encounter. He always checked on us as we entered and exited and was very accommodating with luggage and bringing us a welcome drink on arrival. He even kindly reminded me to slow down and enjoy Island time which was a great reminder. There are also a few restaurants that are obvious and not so obvious within walking distance. A not so obvious one is called "forever fast food" which is a no frills Chinese food place for takeout only. My one complaint is poolside service. Our first time at the pool we waited a while to get our order and had to flag someone down. The next few times we were passed several times, made eye contact but no one ever came so we ended up going to the swim up bar because the main bar had a huge group ordering. Overall between the hotel experience and tours we went out..Belize is a great place to visit-beautiful and I would stay at Alaia again.
