The location is great for diving, food and rooms are amazing. My wife and I got engaged on the peir in 2017. It feel like home when we come to this resort! Staff and hospitality are great. Jonathan at the prestige lounge is amazing and his wife makes amazing cake pops. Shout out to isidro and David they are great bar tenders. Rosaline and aldo keep things tidy.

Unlucky Visit?

There were many very good things about this hotel, but the few that were negative offset much. The site is beautiful and generally well maintained, but there was a strong smell of sewage on multiple days near the pool tables. One day, we smelt it near the poolside snack bar. They closed off the bridge to the lobby / main dining room for a few days for maintenance, so we had to go past the pool tables to get to the lobby. The smell was so strong one day that I gagged. Further, our room had a sign to not put paper in the toilet, but this was not the case in a family member's room. However, the garbage is emptied only once a day, and the odor from toilet paper put in the garbage is far from pleasant. It's hard to get past these smells. That being said, the staff were great and service was very good. The on-site dive shop was great. They had phenomenal dive guides, but the lady at the office was a bit difficult. The food was fresh, plentiful, but very bland except for the hot sause. There was a very large variety and they held theme nights of Italian, American, and Mexican. However, I didn't go to Mexico for pasta or American food and was disappointed in the Mexican food. I guess I expected more spice, particularly in the mexican and asian restaurants. The food is geared to the masses, but that is not unexpected, particularly in a resort that clearly caters to the US. The resort offers many activities near the pool, which we enjoyed, but the person running them has a microphone set very loud and talks often. This didn't bother us, but it did so for others. Like many resorts, people put towels on pool chairs to "reserve" them, but the chairs sit empty for hours and there was no place to sit most of the time. (People - stop doing this!) Lastly, the beer taps were routinely not working in multiple bars and they didn't have one of the beers available for most of our stay. Just our luck, that was the one we wanted. Regardless, other than the sewage, I think this resort is very good for those who like all-inclusives and are not looking for much to indicate the country in which they are. The staff clearly tries very hard to make your stay enjoyable and management is doing its job. Maybe we were just unlucky in the week we went with the sewage.
