And if you had a bad day...It will go away

Much thanks to Christian Ocampo at the desk, to the left of Iberostar's Front Desk. I was dealing with computer-cell-phone-issues. I am 79 which should explain the confusion and total expression of LOST on my Face. Christian was a busy guy, but he saw my look of blankness. He asked if he could help. I replied that I was trying to "work this thing" He asked if he could take a look. And 2 and on sixteenth of a second later, the problem was solved. He is patient, competent, humane, and has a sense of humor- his English is great. Oh yeah! The food is great, the ocean is teaming with cute fish, the rooms spotless; but having a good person make your cell phone work. Now that is wonderous!

Great location

Great location. Staff is very nice to work with, Mario helped us alot and did a great job! Bring your own music to the pool, as they don’t play any type of music. Restaurants were top notch. Make time to get off resort and explore with a rental car.

Not a good first impression!

Sue T (Petersfield, United Kingdom) on Feb 24, 2026

When we arrived our room was damp and the a/c wasn't working. We had men with ladders accessing the a/c in the roof to fix it. Surely it should have been checked before we arrived!! The food was mostly good apart from a poor experoence in the Mexican restaurant. We thought more could be done to keep the loungers and particularly the tables on the beach clean. There sermed to be a lot of staff on the beach but we didn't see them actually doing a lot. Overall a little disappointing but we made the best of it.

Great people working here, beautiful grounds and landscaping. Rooms aren’t as nice as I would expect but very clean!

Wonderful service, beautiful landscaping, the jungle setting provides plenty of shade on those sunny days. The service is wonderful I can’t thank Javier enough for helping me with my gear or giving me a ride from the gate to my room after a long day of diving. Amairani was so gracious and personable every time we entered the dining area, seating serving and always asking questions in regards to conversations we had the day before, these people knew who we were and would bring up topics we had discussed the days before. The resort is very spread out which can be challenging to traverse but as I mentioned there are motorized options for guest who have mobility issues. Since the resort is spread out the staff is also spread a bit thin but they make up for that with exceptional service. I did not dive with Dressel divers, the onsite dive shop so I cannot speak to the diving experience there but the shop seemed extremely professional and well ran, this place can accommodate a high volume of divers daily, great for large groups. I am a solo diver so I frequent a smaller, local, family owned diving company. Iberostar is like a cruise ship on land, with activities and entertainment scheduled throughout the day. Not many ocean view rooms, the rooms are small and dated aside from the remodeled bathrooms. I found the water bottle situation to be a bit annoying, I had to refill water daily and there were only 2 of us, the bottles were empty upon arrival. 1 issue I had with the dive shop is that a friend of mine wanted to do snorkeling around the pier and the water was a bit cool, he also only brought a prescription snorkel mask but no fins or wet suit, dressel divers would not rent him fins or wet suit to be used off the Iberostar pier, which we’ve done this at many resorts in the Caribbean. Dressel would only rent those items if we booked an excursion. Again i found this shop to be a well oiled machine and would not hesitate to bring a large group of divers traveling together, it just wasn’t as an accommodative experience as I’ve had elsewhere in Cozumel, Roatan, Belize, grand cayman and resorts outside of the Caribbean. I had a good experience at Iberostar overall but will likely return to one of the smaller resorts as it’s hard for me to walk long distances on uneven ground and I am only a solo diver. Again, this place is awesome for large groups traveling together, cannot overstate the great service! Thank you Iberostar Cozumel

Terrible

christopher T on Feb 21, 2026

We bought a day pass and never took our shoes off because there was no were to sit. There was someone constantly talking on a microphone. Not chill at all. The food was 99% American. If hot dogs and hamburgers on the beach in Mexico is your thing than this might be your place.
