Not a great hotel for the money. Rooms are outdated and bathroom was not in good shape. We checked in on Feb. 29 and the room locks and keys wouldn’t work because their computer didn’t recognize Leap Day, so security had to let us in our room each time. And the elevators were not good either. Average wait time for an elevator is about 5 minutes but we had to wait longer on several occasions. Service is pretty good, breakfast buffet is good and staff was nice.

An appalling dump of a hotel. Bathroom likely hasn’t been renovated since it was built, black out curtains actually have holes in them from age/sun, entire place is just depressing. The W is the same price and, though it has the same vibe of “about 20 years past due a revamp”, it’s actually a hotel. This place feels more like a prison.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Bahia mar, it was a wonderful experience all around! My friends and I spent practically all day at the beach, the weather was beautiful. Juan over at the beach as the attendant for Bahia mar is excellent! Great attitude and smile and always willing to help! The rooms were a great stay as well and a very comfortable setting. We definitely plan on coming back soon.
Decent Stay a lot of perks

PRO’S: nice lobby, room ready before check in time, warm cookies upon arrival, coffee maker in room, comfortable beds, beautiful breakfast (FREE for kids 12 & under), beach chairs (2 lounger), DJ by the pool, 2 free welcome drinks.
CON’s: room is dated, bathroom old moldy shower, far from Las Olas BLVD (1 hour walk or 25 minute Uber ride). Small fitness center. Breakfast is $$$ for adults.
14th Year at the Bahia Mar!
Feb 21, 2024
The title says it all! Just completed my 14th year stay at the Bahia Mar on February 14 and I will return for a 15th, 16th, 17th.......
First, let me get this out of the way! Disregard the malcontents writing whiny, bad reviews. They would complain if the Publishers Clearinghouse Prize Patrol forgot the balloons while handing them a $35 million check. ????????
Second, the Bahia Mar is 2 buildings: Marina and Tower. If you want cheap, you stay in the Marina Building. BUT don't expect the amenities guests staying in the Tower receive. You want 1st class, upscale accommodations, you gotta pay for it! Book in the Tower Building. You want cheap, no frills, Budgetel, Motel 6 accommodations, you book the Marina Building. But don't complain that your not being treated like the Sultan of Brunei!!!!! ????????????
With that out of the way, a bit about the Bahia Mar.
Situated on 44 acres, no other resort on the A1A offers this amount of acreage. A huge swimming pool with an equally sized deck; a bar (Bahia Mar Bar and Grille) by poolside that offers excellent barfood; tennis courts; a small tropical garden to the rear of the tennis courts; a pedestrian walkway with direct access to the beach are just a few of the many pluses of this resort. It is located in the Central Beach section of South Ft Laudy; touristy, upscale and right across the Intercoastal from the famed Millionaires Row neighborhood.
The marina berths ships to 300' and for those of us who fish, several charter and 1 party boat are berthed there.
Breezes is a nice sized bistro located to the left of the main entrance. Known for
its sumptuous breakfast buffet, the food is quite good. But a tad pricey, as you might expect.
The Bahia Mar is perfectly located; within walking distance of Coconuts, Boccachino's, Spazio, the world famous Elbo Room and a short ride to 15th Street Fishery, Shooters and the also world famous Parrot Lounge! Also close by are Dania Beach, Hollywood, Hallendale and Miami to the South and Pompano Beach and Boca Rotan to the North. About a 20 minute ride from FLL when traffic is near normal.
The staff is professional, personable, friendly and accommodating. Special mention to CSRs Azeem, Paul, Sasha, Meilani for going above and beyond! Marcia, in Landscaping, who took me on a walking tour of the property. Last but not least, GM Lisa does a wonderful job with the day to day at Bahia Mar. In my opinion!
I've traveled round the world and stayed everywhere from dives to swanky upscale!
I love Bahia Mar and this is going to be my February winter vacation destination until ........well, don't wanna think about old age. LOL!!
