Great location. Friendly staff. I think parking pricing needs to be better ($43/day) for guest staying at this location. Room is a bit dated but having the kitchen is a big plus.
Place badly needs maintenance and cleaning

Place badly needs cleaning and maintenance, and the hot tub/pool/grills are not available due to "maintenance" which another tenant said has been the same for 2 years.
Clean and met our needs but needs some TLC

We stayed here while visiting family in the area. We weren't expecting a luxury stay, and we were not disappointed. While, it was nice having a full kitchen to make meals and enjoy family time, the mattress in the bedroom was awful. The 'doors' separating the bedroom from the living area were sliding doors that did not always stay on their track. You need to leave them open at night if you want the a/c in the bedroom. They are in the process of updating the amenities at the hotel, so it may be a new experience if we stay here next time we are in Honolulu. I didn't think it would be a big deal not using the pool or hot tub because we often don't use them, but it would have been nice to have them as the weather was a bit cloudy and gray the first few days. Some upgrades will make it a nicer stay. The whole building just seems tired, including the room we stayed in. It was clean and met our needs, so we were satisfied. If you want luxury, find somewhere else.
Fantastic stay 1 1/2 blocks from the beach

We loved our stay at the Waikiki Banyan! We stayed five nights and could have stayed longer. Clean, up to date, loved the lanai! We appreciated that the bedroom is separate and able to be closed off for sleeping late and privacy. Nice kitchen with all we needed. We really appreciated the coffee and tea that was available for us. Close to the beach and parking included. We would definitely recommend to anyone for a great stay!
Accommodations (room and service) was below average

The room that we stayed had furniture that was over 50 years old, carpet that was stained black, drapes with holes and rips and a sunken in bed. When asked for a new room, the staff made no attempts to find a new room or extend the check out time as was advertised in the Kama'aina deal.
