Twin Fin is an awesome place to stay.

The Twin Fins location is perfect for safe beach location, restaurants, shops, zoo etc. The rooms are basic, but very clean and are serviced regularly. The staff are wonderful. The hotel offers Ukulele lessons, Lei making classes, as wrll as astronomy nights. Extremely well priced and great value for money. It has a really good beach vibe area. Thank you Twin Fin for making our first trip to Hawaii so enjoyable and relaxing.

Great hotel in the centre of Waikiki

Fantastic location, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Room was lovely, the view was INCREDIBLE! Make sure you visit the on site restaurant Tiki’s, the food & atmosphere is great, you do need to book as it gets busy. The food service by the pool was a great plus! You have to pre book breakfast which is a bit strange.

Beware of false charges!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Twin Fin Hotel Waikiki. Looking past the wear of the property because of the amazing location, a unjustified $500 smoking fine that can only be described as unacceptable customer service really put a damper on a trip that we planned and saved for, for a entire year. My family and I DO NOT smoke or vape at all. Despite this, we were charged a smoking violation fee with no evidence provided and no opportunity for a fair review. We disputed the charge immediately, completed the required dispute form, and made multiple attempts to resolve the issue professionally and promptly. What followed is a week of totally frustration. Calls and emails to management went unanswered. When we did receive a response, we were met with indifference and dismissiveness. At no point did anyone demonstrate concern for accuracy, fairness, or guest experience. In fact, the final guidance we received was essentially: “Just dispute it with your credit card company.” That response alone speaks volumes about how little accountability or customer care exists here. Charging guests a significant fine without proof and then refusing to engage in any meaningful resolution is not just poor service; it feels like a trap that they have practice at. This situation left us feeling completely disregarded as paying guests. I would strongly caution future travelers to think twice before staying here. If an error occurs, do not expect responsiveness, transparency, or support from management. A hotel that operates this way does not value trust or customer relationships. I would welcome a conversation from ownership if they see this, as I was told that not even employees know who ownership or upper management is as they are never at the hotel.

Disappointed and frustrated hotel experiences

Our 10-day experience at the Twin Fin was extremely disappointing: The $500 per night room felt super tiny, unclean, and poorly maintained, with visible patches, wear, and dirt throughout. Sanity is also a main concern, we even saw roaches in the building. It gave the impression of an aging, neglected property rather than a resort hotel. Front desk service was also a major issue. While not all staff were unfriendly, most interactions felt cold and unwelcoming. In our 10 days, we never saw any smiling from them. On multiple occasions, staff appeared smiling with white guests, then immediately turned distant with us – an experience we did not encounter at the Marriott (across the street). Lastly, accessing beach towels was unnecessarily frustrating. Towels are distributed through the same line as hotel check-in, leading to long waits and line-cutting by guests just trying to grab towels. By comparison, the Marriott provides towel vending machines, making the process quick and hassle-free. Overall, Twin Fin was a poor value and left us disappointed and frustrated. We would not recommend staying here.

Meh. Good if you’re not staying here all day

4 star rating is a JOKE. Not really a resort but good location. Room dusty and falling apart from the humidity outside. After i got out of the shower and walked on the carpet, my feet were visibly dirty. The $60 resort fee and $60 parking fee is wild and not made clear and then you swipe your credit card anyway.
